Wonder in Alaska!!! May 27, 2013

Hi,

We would like to join the FE, but I would like more info. Are there any rules? This would be are first FE and we want to make sure we do it right. My DH, DS (4), DS (3), and myself are in a GTY right now so I do not know our cabin number.

Also, my in-laws, Carl and Linda, would also like to participate. They are in cabin #2515.

I have another question, what happens if you upgrade at port. How do you tell the people in the FE?

Thanks,

Jasmin

I have a luggage dilemma for this board....

Has anyone looked at shipping stuff ahead of time to the port?

Has anyone done it and had problems or successes? We are flying from the east coast and winter stuff is heavy. We thought that shipping it might be easier than hauling it ourselves. I am hesitant though because if the items are lost, I cannot just run to wal-mart and replace them. What do you think?

Hedgie and I are IN!!!!!

Although Hedgie only sips:rotfl2:

I have added you to my list.

Are the tiaras optional or required? I would enjoy having a good excuse to buy one :)

Thanks for looking into this Corinna! Based on the name I presume this is for women over 21? I mentioned this to the women in my group and the 19 year old asked if she could come along.

Well, lets just say tiaras are strongly encouraged. I don't want anybody to feel that they can't participate because they don't own a tiara and do not want to get one especially for this event. Having said that, we had a bunch of people during previous Champagne Girls events that just got inexpensive ones from the party store. I have a whole selection of tiaras, but I am probably going to get a pink Mickey head crystal to go on my tiara that I bought at Arribas Bros at Walt Disney World in November. At the moment I have a lilac Mickey head for this.

I don't see why the 19 year old could not join us. She obviously would not be allowed to drink, but other than that, I don't see a problem.

sounds like fun!! Count me in!! :)

I have added you to the list.

for all of those who were able to book at 120 days... what did you sign up for? :) I am hoping for a Palo brunch at the 105 day mark.

I snagged a Palo Brunch and a Palo dinner. Brunch I expect will only be offered on the two sea days. Next time I am on the site, I could check and let you know what times are still out there, if that will be helpful????

Dinner is easier as it is offered every night.

I threw caution to the wind and booked shore excursions rather than trying to attempt the plan your own.....I am still looking at options and may change some around but generally I tried to get a flavour of several items.

Planning is fun.

We booked:
May 29 Tracy Arm Palo Brunch
May 30 Whitepass Railroad round-trip
May 31 Juneau Mendenhall Glacier & Whale Quest
Palo Brunch is offered 3 days, 2 sea days and Tracy Arm. There were lots
openings when I booked.
DH is 68 and doesn't move very fast, so we are going with convenience this time. When we did this route with Princess we did the helicopter tour to the dog sled camp, best excursion we have ever experienced.
This cruise will be a little more take it easy, but when we get off the ship
we are flying to California so I can go to Disneyland. Living on the east coast we don't get west very often.

when you get your cabin #, just send me the number.

I have another question, what happens if you upgrade at port. How do you tell the people in the FE? just put a note on our cabin, I will leave it up for others to see.

You will get many emails from mail along the way for the FE!! ( and a detailed list of everyone participating!!)

Thanks,

Jasmin

I answered above!!

I'm SO glad that Palo brunch is being offered 3 days! Last time we sailed, it was only offered one day and we were wait-listed as it was our first cruise and it was booked by the time we opened up. They ended up opening up another brunch, but we couldn't attend that one as we had other plans during that time. Hopefully the nursery has some openings at the same time as some of the available brunch times when I book! :)

Dangit! I really wanted to book Palo brunch, but we can't book for another month. They will probably all be gone by then.

Dang Silver! Dang non-concierge!

If we are lucky enough to get brunch.. we would be happy to share our table!! we went to Palo with 4 people years ago and it was a lot of fun!! :)

Thanks Corinna! Depending on what night this happens, we'd love to join in. The nineteen year old especially (even if she can't drink). I'll get a tiarra for myself but the other three who don't live in the states may or may not be able to find tiarras. I might buy some for them along with my own though.

I love the idea of the Pink Mickey Head Crystal! I look forward to seeing it.

Keep us updated!

Last time we went, we didn't know it, but there was another couple of people from the DISboard who has Palo brunch at the same time as us. We didn't know it until they were seated right by us. So we all talked the whole time, and had a blast!

Traditionally this has always been scheduled in the early to mid afternoon on one of the sea days.

Sounds perfect! If that's the case, I doubt we'll have anything to get in the way. :cheer2: I was thinking maybe a Palo dinner or a bridge game for my father (who I know will not be caught dead at a pink tiarra event, but he needs a partner) but I doubt either of those will fall on an afternoon sea day. Thanks Corinna!

If you need a helping hand with planning just let me know. I've never been to a Champagne girls event, so I don't really know what goes into it, but I'm very good at research and following instructions :)

Hi Everyone,

On the Alaska leg, we'll be in Cabin 5650. Would love to participate in FEs. Anyone doing door magnets? And absolutely sign me up for Champagne Girls. Sound like a blast!

Looking forward to meeting everyone...

Beth

Thanks for the offer. Most of the work will be done by DCL. I will put together one of my Google forms on the weekend to collect the necessary information that DCL needs and then this should run itself.

Hi,

I have been researching excursions lately, even though I can not book until March. I am planning on booking a Helicopter and dog sled tour privately. We are going to be doing it in Skagway. I would also like to book the White Pass and street car tour that is offered by Disney. My problem is I do not know the available times of the White Pass being offered, so I do not know what helicopter tour time to pick. Is there a way to find out tour times or can some one that can already book look for me please. TIA
