I cannot think of any design or color, or shape that I would want to look at for the rest of my life. Jimmy Buffet's song, "A permanent reminder of a tempory feeling" sums it up!
I LOVE that idea...I might have to figure out a way to incorporate that into my future piece...that's wonderful!TheOtherVillainess said:If I wasn't such a big chicken, I'd go get one. I don't know what it would be of though..probably a set of teenyweeny footprints with DS's birthdate.

If you have ever watched "Kung Fu" it signifies the part in the beginning where he picks up the burning kettle and the characters get singed into his skin. It's a mark of pride and accomplishment.![]()
grlpwrd said:Yes, that could be true, but mostly I see people co-opting tattooing and using different aspects of ancient cultures to make it their own. For example, many people misuse Asian characters and when translated they carry a whole different meaning. Or how people get a tribal band around their arm like Polynesians do. All co-opting.
Then again it could just be a fad thing, too, or just a way to express themselves or a mark of a milestone or something.
