we have stayed at wl many times and always had a courtyard view. we are thinking of going back in a couple months and splurging on staying a t the poly for a few nights and as always finish our trip at the WL my question
because we always stay courtyard view. do you think we would be happy with a woods view. any advice would be helpful.

Hi Jen,

Obviously this is personal preference. However, we have stayed several times at WL in a courtyard view. On one occassion we were upgraded to a 1BR at the WLV and did not enjoy the woods view as much as the courtyard view.

The room and view were beautiful, however, we enjoy having the "Disney Feel" and "excitement" from our balcony at the Courtyard view....and thus would not choose the woods view.

We had a woods view our last trip, and we were on the North Side, 6th floor - we had a spectacular view of the MK and the Contemporary.

Request the north wing. We were only on the 2nd floor (overlooking the otter pond), but had a great view of the Mk fireworks!

Our so called woods view was of the roof. I even called to make sure they had put us in the right room and they said yep, you're in a woods view room. I wanted to be a smarty pants and say something like, yes I do see some tree branches.

WL is also famous for free up-grades, you might pay for a woods view and be given a court-yard view.

i agree about the upgrades. We have stayed there 3 time and have been upgraded each time. never asking and never expecting it. The last time was wonderful. we went from a wood view to a courtyard view, but it was in the center of the resort. We openned our door and the lobby was below and out our window we looked across the pool and lagoon. I would have been prefecting happy with the woods view too, but this was a unexpected treat for us. We are back at the WL in the summer, and no there is no way to top the room we had in Feb., but that's OK.

Woods view can be a really nice view on the side toward the Magic Kingdom or it can be a crappy view of the roof on the other side. (I've stayed in both.) Last time we had a courtyard view and I really enjoyed it!!

We have stayed both Woods and Courtyard view...and enjoyed them both, but for different reasons! We loved watching the MK fireworks from our balcony in the woods view, but also loved the sound of the waterfalls at night(with the courtyard view)! Oh yeah, we were upgraded without even asking on our last visit!
