Honestly, personally, I'm not a fan of it. The wilderness lodge just wasn't designed with it in mind. The wilderness lodge doesn't have a lounge for it like the polly does in the hawaii building, for example. It is just spread out there around the balcony on the seventh floor. It takes away from the lobby of the lodge. First, one of the best things to do in the lobby was to the seven floor walkdown - every floor had something different in the stairs down to the next. The key card in the elavator destroys that. It takes away from the sight lines of the lobby just to have it out there. Now, don't get me wrong. I really don't begrudge anyone the convenience or niceness of having their breakfast right there or whatever. But it totally destroys the honeymoon rooms. Those rooms used to be special. What made them special was that they were the only thing there around the lobby on the 7th floor. They were remote and separate feeling and unique and special. Now there is seating right outside the doors. I'm glad for people to have easy and convenient breakfast - that's great - but goodness, it just seems terrible for some couple to be in the honey moon room while families are gathering their breakfasts outside. I'm sad that young couples today can't enjoy the specialness of those rooms, or that people visiting the lodge for the first time can't look up around the lobby and take it all in without that "conceirge" set up.
