Wk of Nov 26--WISH Walking/Running Club

Christa - You were pretty calm by my estimate. She probably wouldn't know the difference anyway. I got a little annoyed with my niece yesterday. She came to visit and I was congratulating her on finishing the Philly 1/2 marathon last week. She finished in just under 2 hours. She was upset because she said the only time she walked was as she crossed the finish line (she saw the line and decided to just walk across it). Well the photographer took her picture. She was mad because the photo looks like she's walking and she "didn't want people to think she walked during the event".

Well, I tried to be nice. Told her it was an accomplishment just to finish. There's nothing wrong with walking if you need to. Also told her if she's doing the SF race with me next year (she wants to), she better be ready to do the race on her own. There's no way I can keep up that pace (heck I can't even GET to that pace), so she can go ahead and wait for me at the finish line. Of course I'll be doing the full and she's doing the half.

Krista and Steve - no joy in PA football again this week! :furious:

You know how people say you should thank you family members for putting up with the long training hours and running to events, etc? I agree, it is important to thank those who put up with us when we're training crazy. But sometimes, they can be the biggest obstacles to training  I thought I'd get some really good workouts in during the long weekend, and I did get a couple, just not as I had planned. Family matters seem to keep getting in the way! Ugh!!!

Matt...gosh, I'm sorry to see that you were disappointed in the results of the game :lmao: I think Lynnda and Dana may share your dismay ;) As Bill said, it's all my fault...the Gators seem to do better when we don't watch the game, so we just listened on the radio this weekend.

Ahem, I don't know that "dismay" is quite the right word...   I will say that at least we didn't get completely skunked... and I still love my gator friends! ;) And Mel - you REALLY need to watch the game next year!!!! :lmao:

Matt - I hope you all had fun in spite of the game. I would give anything to hear my band play and to sing the hymn again! :goodvibes Billy is getting really good at doing the chop, and I almost have him singing the war chant! :thumbsup2

Thanks to everyone for the congrats! I hope everyone is doing well! Your training stories/reports have me excited about next year's training! :cool1: I did get some cross training in on Black Friday :lmao: but that was the extent of my exercise this weekend! Oh, and I have to thank DH for doing his runs at night this weekend - that allowed me to go shopping in the wee hours on Friday morning - thanks honey!!! :cloud9:

Keep up the great work!!! :cheer2:

Hi TEAM!

Last night I walked, on my tm, for 45 mins. and did almost 4 miles...I plan to hit the 4 mile mark tonight. The news is saying that we're expecting 3 feet of snow tonight and into tomorrow morning and if that's the case I'm going to miss my exercise class tomorrow :guilty: I guess I will be breaking in my YakTraks tomorrow!

Good morning Wish Team. :sunny: I'm afraid I have nothing good to report, I only did 2 miles of my lr on Saturday, I was running with Stephen and he made me stop as I was in quite a bit of pain. It's a good thing he made me stop or I would have kept going and I probably would have paid the price this week. So what hurt? Basically everything. My quad on my right leg and my calf and shin on my left leg, both feel very tight and they hurt when I run. I think I maybe pulled a muscle or something. :confused3 My calf has been hurting me off and on since this past summer and my quad has been bothering me since my 12 miler on Oct. 21. Both pains haven't been enough to make me stop, it was just pain that I've dealt with, but I pushed myself pretty hard on my 10K on Thursday and I think that played a big part in the horrible run on Saturday. My legs are still tender and bothering me a little bit so I'm going to take a couple of days off and try running on Wednesday, hopefully I will be okay for my 18 miler on Saturday. :wizard:

Terri--Is there something in the water in PA??? What in the world is going on???? Rothlisberger got sacked 9 times!!! 9 TIMES!!! Where is the offensive line?? Oh, I am so mad, I don't want to talk about it. At least the Eagles have an excuse with McNabb out. The Steelers have no excuse at all. Grrr. :furious: :furious: I hear ya about your niece. I have a brother-in-law who thinks because I run 5 minutes and then walk for 1 minute that I'm not really a runner at all. He also told me that anyone can go out and do a marathon, it's really not that hard. I'm so tempted to tell him that I'll pay for his entrance fee for the Flying Pig marathon in May and see if he changes his tune.

Mel--I'm so glad that Kaylie is okay with having to sit the half out. We now have one more member for our scream team! Speaking of scream teams, if anyone is interested, my sister and I will be at mile 4 for the half marathon for Stephen and my parents, we'll be there from 6:00 until my Dad crosses, hopefully around 8:00 and then we're heading to the finish line, if anyone wants to watch with us. Back to football talk, I can't be mad at Hines Ward as he probably should not have even been playing at all. He hyper-extended his knee during last week's game and was on crutches all week.

Fabumouse--Welcome!!!

Christa--Awesome pace on your 20 miler!! Wow!!! I won't even tell you what Stephen predicted your finish time would be. By the way, good for you for sticking up for yourself and your pace. Some people are clueless.

Lynnda--Did ya get some good deals??? My Mom and sisters left for shopping at 4:30 am and I don't think they got home until around 4:00 in the afternoon. They are  . I do most of my shopping on-line. :teeth:

Hi Everyone!

We are back from the Ozarks!

Well, I got smart and did my mid week 10 miler on Tuesday morning before we left so that Wednesday was a rest day. Good thing too.

For those of you that don't remember, we spent the week with my inlaws that live on the top of a Mountain in NW Arkansas. The roads are winding and hilly and have steep drop offs or ditches on either side. There was no where to run safely. The car was constantly downshifting as we were driving up there and all I could think about was "I am supposed to run up or down THIS?" Yikes.

My wonderfully sweet and well meaning inlaws had borrowed a treadmill for me to use while I was there. Think of the cheapest model of Sears brand treadmill that they sold in say 1971. It shook and shimmied when I turned it on and that was before I even started to run. This was not going to work.

So DH takes his bike out and measured a route for me. 5 miserable and actually rather frightening miles. Every few feet I have to jump over road kill as well. Nice way to start Thanksgiving morning.

But God is good and merciful and kind. On friday night, the whole family goes out to dinner and the waiter is a runner and he discovers I have to run 20 miles the next morning. He tells us about a state park that is "flat" and fairly safe for running.

So I did my 20 miler through the state park. Two mile loops of what mountain dwellers call flat but it was 100% better than what I had anticipated. The campers in the park caught on after I had made several loops and started cheering me on which was funny and nice and finally annoying. I didn't feel like smiling and waving at mile 16 but I would hear one of the little kids yell "Here she comes again" How can you tell them to stop?

20 miles in 3 :26. Only 20 seconds difference in my fastest lap and my slowest lap and my last lap was one of the fastest. Pretty consistant. I think that puts me at about a 4:30 marathon just like my coaches predicted weeks ago.

I completely understand how Matt feels though. I have no idea how I am going to manage this weeks runs. I a not looking forward to running again at all.

Happy Trails everyone!

Good Morning TEAM: :surfweb:

OK, I'm trying to catch up with everyone here. Here's my report. I haven't done any training since last Wednesday. Maybe I took Craig's advice a little too seriously. I ran last Wednesday and did a little over 4 miles. It was a stonker of a run. My shins hurt and my hip flexors hurt. I decided I was going to take the next 2 days as rest days - Thursday (Thanksgiving) and Friday and then run my 8 mile LR on Saturday. Well, after Thanksgiving, I drove down to Delaware with the princesses, DD5 princess: and DD8 princess:, to visit with my Mom and Dad. My Mom has not been doing well for a long time - she did not recognize my daughters, and kept asking where they were from. I quickly decided there was no way I could leave my Dad with my girls while I run, so I bagged the Saturday run too. Sunday I drove 8 hours from Delaware back to Rochester. In all honesty, I don't mind that I took so many days off from running/training. I was getting soooooo run down, and my legs were so sore. I really think I needed a break. I'm ready to get back to it today. MfM calls for 60 min today, and I'm planning on doing that at the end of my work day. My LR plan for this weekend calls for a big 20 miler (I added a LR a while back so I'm a little ahead). So I'm a little nervous about that run.

Great job with the training and racing everyone. Wow, 5 weeks to go!!!

Good morning everyone. :sunny:

Our Thanksgiving weekend was 50/50 good/bad. Here's the Cliff's Notes rundown:

Wednesday - skipped 5 mi SW because I "didn't feel like it." Went out to dinner instead. :guilty: :sad2:

Thursday - arrived at IL's for 2-night visit; great family meal; decided all 22 of us will go to WDW for Tgive 2008 and stay at our DVC. :sad2: :faint: WHAT were we thinking?!?! Must have been the wine.

Friday - DH and I bought new bikes. It took 3.5 HOURS! Mine's a very nice hybrid. DH got a fancy shmancy road bike that requires special shoes and pedals. And - get this - he had to be fitted to the bike! Geez.

Saturday - Came home and headed to my sister's for dinner. Picked up Dad so he could spend the rest of the weekend with us.

Sunday - Awesome 9 mi LW (must have been all those carbs that built up over the weekend). Then my clothes dryer died on me during the 2nd of 5 loads. :laundy: Loaded up the car to go to the laundramat. Forgot about the brand new bike rack on the tailgate...slammed the tailgate down, rack hit my head, drew blood, and BOY DID I SEE STARS. :headache: Spent the afternoon at the laundramat and missed the Ravens' great win.

Today - Found out my coworker's nephew was killed in Iraq over the weekend. :sad1:

Hardly an ideal start to the holiday season. Here's hopin' things get better from here. DH works for the Ravens, so if they clinch on Thursday the great relief will probably loosen him up to contribute some merriment for the coming weeks. That would be a tremendous help and allow me to stick with my training schedule. (Only 2 LWs left: 12 & 14 on Dec 2 and 16.) :cool1:

Sorry so long. Cheers!

Kristi...just curious, do the Goo recognize you yet? Seems like you get to meet them pretty often and they might remember you?

:faint: Can you just imagine if they did ever recognize me?
How un-freakin-bearable would I be then? :lmao:

Unfortunately, I think they are bombared by way too many of us soccer mom types for me to stand out.

I have xt today - I will make my way to the Y at some point. Chad is not working today, so I have no excuse!

Hi guys! Well.....I ran that turkey day race on a very sore leg and paid the price for sure. The hip and quad of my right leg have been giving me trouble since the 16 mile long run :( (Hey, Krista...sound familiar!). And I should have rested the leg instead of run in the cold and rain on Thursday...but of course I didn't. And I didn't back my pace of much either. So when I went out for my 8 mile long run this Saturday...the pain really impacted me and I had an awful run. I only managed a slow and uncomfortable 6 miles :(. I'm very frustrated b/c I finally got my lower leg injuries cleared up. But I guess this is just part of the training experience as I'm reading so many others dealing with pain and injuries as we inch closer to Jan. 7th. :confused3 So many days I question whether I'm really actually going to make it to the starting line. So it looks like I won't be running today. I made an appointment w/ the chiropractor and will be calling the ortho up soon too.....like Krista I don't know what's causing the quad pain...but it's pretty intense.

Dave: Good for you for backing off last week. You did a much better job listening to your body than I did!!! I sure hope you have a really good run today!!! Sending you all kinds of marathon training pixie dust!!!

Krista: My sister in training ;). Seems like we've been fighting the same battles from the right ankle to the right quad and all the other stuff in between!!! I'm sorry you are dealing with pain and had to back off your long run too on Saturday:(. But I have to say that knowing I'm not the only one dealing with these issues is some small comfort. I hope you figure out what is causing that quad pain! I'll let you know if I find any answers. Does your hip hurt as well? I just get a feeling this is all related to the hip but who knows :confused3 . I'm with you though....I need to get that 18 miler in this weekend so I'm backing off for a few days and hoping for the best!!! :goodvibes Sending you tons of good vibes and PD that your injury heals over the next few days. Keep me posted!!! :grouphug:

Cecelia: Wow....you are fast and the miles you put in are so impressive!!!! way to go!!!

Monte: GREAT job on your 4 miler!!! WTG!!!

WTG on the run! Great time! I bet you will finish even faster than 4:30! WDW is flatter than what you ran those 20 miles on! :cheer2: I have to admit, I was :rotfl2: :lmao: :happytv: :rotfl: out loud when I read about the treadmill! Heck...I am still laughing!

Kelnottat - Hope things start looking better for you! :grouphug:

Monte - what is this thing called snow you speak of? :confused3 We only get ice here. Have fun in the snow and with the YakTracks :teeth: !

Krista and Stephen - You guys are great! Hey don't worry about the Steelers..The Panthers are stinking it up this year! :furious: Krista - Hope your legs feel better! :wizard:

Taz - HMMMM, a packing list! Just make sure to bring your shoes. :rotfl: Here is the running stuff I bring. Hope it helps.
1. belt packs
2. H2O/gatoraid bottles
3. Gels
4. Shorts, pants
5. Shirts - LS & SS
6. Chap stick
7. Jackets, hats, gloves
8. Running shoes, socks
9. chub rub stuff
10. MP3 Player/Ipod & batteries
11. sunglasses

I ran 6 miles this morning in 50 min. Then I did weights and crunches. Must take a shower...can smell myself! :scared: :faint:

Good morning all. I feel so out of touch, being off-line for four days!

Training went well over the long weekend. This past Saturday only called for five miles, so I decided to do it on the TM since we had so much to do that day. I thought I could get it done early. It went fine, but it was very...unfullfilling. I felt kinda cheated. Guess I really like hitting the road a lot more then I thought. Especially since it turned out to be a really nice day. Oh well, this Saturday is nine miles. I'm already planning my course.

This morning was 60 min on the TM, which I pushed a bit and did it at 12:00 min. I was thinking of upping my speed on the TM a couple times a week.

Mel -Wow! Nice pace! :thumbsup2 Oh I'd better check the Meets thread. I don't want to miss Friday night's dinner.

Kristi - You're so funny! :lmao: Great pictures!

Jodi - Oh I'm glad to hear that about your knee. :goodvibes Oh thanks for the pictures!

Vic - Oh have fun! Thank you for asking. I don't need anything except to BE THERE! :teeth:

Christa - You're a stronger woman than I. :furious: I'm afraid I might have said something less than kind. And certainly not very Disney-like!

Fabumouse - :welcome:

Monte - THREE FEET?!?!?! :faint:

OK let me pretend I am glad to be back at work... :surfweb:

Amy--I've been thinking about you a lot too, it seems we have been battling the same things over the past couple of months. I am finding comfort with everyone elses injuries as well, it makes me feel a little bit better knowing that I am not alone. I don't have any hip pain (yet :teeth: ), my pain is in my quad, about 4-5 inches above my knee and it feels hard to the touch, like I'm flexing my muscle when I'm not. I've been doing the Icy Hot thing and it helps with the short term pain, but not long term. I think I'm going to be bad before my 18 miler and pop some Tylenol so I can't feel any pain. I'm getting ready to get on Runners World website and see if I can find anything about quad injuries. :wizard: for your quad and let me know if you can find anything out.

Kelley--You are a Ravens fan? :faint: Your DH works for the Ravens???? :faint: :faint: :faint: I'm afraid we cannot be friends anymore. ;)

Dave--Good job listening to your body. I think you really needed some rest, you have really been working hard. Good luck on your 20 miler!!

Cecilia--Awesome, awesome job on your 20 miler!! You are FAST!!!! I'm so glad you found a state park to run at.

Christa--Great packing list, I should probably start thinking about getting stuff together. We leave in 5 1/2 weeks!! Great job on your 6 miler. Did your legs feel okay after Saturday's run?

Hi Everyone-

Wow lots of people have been having some tough runs. I think the holidays mess with our mental edge. That and all the food messes with us physically!! Plus we are at the hardest weeks of almost every training program so its supposed to hard. Our bodies are supposed to be tired and worn down. This is the hard part!

Hang in there though - taper will be here before we know it. My coaches have me doing a 4 week taper instead of a three week taper. Its already messing with me mentally and I still have some massive miles to go. I can't imagine what I am going to be like the week after Christmas!

Kelley - It only took your husband 3.5 hours to buy a new bike? Lucky you! My husband starts about a year before reading and researching. About 6 months out he starts "testing" bikes out at the bike stores. Finally when I lose my last ounce of patience with him, I throw away all the bike magazines in a fit. He knows when he finds his beloved bike catalogs in the recycle bin that he has to make a decision. He then starts his "serious" buying time. This lasts about 2 weeks. I think the last time he bought a bike, the owner of the shop was as excited as he was. Of course, the last time he bought a bike he decided it was too expensive to hang off the back of the car so he bought me a new van "to carry the bike." He bought the van in about 2 hours.

Happy trails everyone!

CJ, I've got Disney packing almost down to a science. I keep my list at home, but here's my off-the-top-of-my-head list:

2 sets of running clothes and running shoes
Body Glide -- I like it so much better than vasoline because it doesn't ruin your clothes
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
"Normal" toiletries (though I like to throw in one fancy soap for my post-race cleanup)
Swimsuit (a cool pool is great therapy to prevent/lessen postrace soreness)
Digital Camera, batteries, and battery charger
Cell phone and cell phone charger
Race documentation (needed for package pickup -- Don't forget photo ID)
Room confirmation
List of priority seatings & confirmation #s
Park tickets
Refillable mugs for my WDW resort (hope this doesn't start a controversy)

More later. Gotta work!

Calling all veterans...us 1st timers need a really good packing list. I figure if I set out one suitcase and start adding my running things I might be ready in 41 days. Your suggestions are much appreciated!!!

Oops... one more thing. I noticed that a virtual training buddy of mine has a wonderfully detailed WDW half marathon report on the Disneyrunning.com site. I started a separate thread about it because I know everyone (me especially!) can't keep up with the weekly training thread. If you'd like a sneak preview of what your WDW Half will be like, check it out.

Christa-- you are a speed demon!!! Don't worry about what you said. Now I can confess my "slip" of last year. I was doing an 18 miler on the bike path and a man came up and ran with me, noticing that I had been on the path as long as him. He asked if I was training for a marathon and I said yes. Then he proceeded to tell me, in depth of his many marathons; including the 3 Bostons. He finally stopped talking and asked how many I've done. Well, don't ask me why, but I said "one" (LIE), I said, "I did Baystate last year", I even gave him a finishing time :lmao: :rotfl2: For the life of me I don't know why I did it. I wasn't impressed with his bravado so I don't know why I felt like I needed to justify myself. I guess just another weird running thing :p

Mel-- I'm sorry your DD won't be doing the half, but better safe than sorry. I'm glad she's ok with it.

Jodi-- great pics of Salem. My office mate lives about 10 minutes from there. Personally, all that witchy stuff creeps me out!

Kristi-- Great pics! You are too funny. Once again, a WISHer has lulled me into confession... When I was a rebellious teenager (I know DD is payback). I went to see the Ramones about 15 times. I made jackets for my sister and I (we went together), and they DID recognize us  We even crawled in their van once to get an autograph. Of course I can claim "youth" on my obsession :rolleyes1

Kristi-- on the lights: I wanna see your house! I can't compete with Chad. Partly because I only have a 100 amp service and mostly because I don't do ladders :rotfl: But I'll post my decorations. I just got a new digital camera and I haven't figured out how to get decent night shots yet. The pictures don't do it justice (really!). The last shot is really blurry, but shows all three "pieces" of the yard.

STATS: I ended up doing 4 miles on Thanksgiving due to the hard rain. Nothing on Friday, then I did my 8 miler on Sat (avg pace 13:00 on the nose) and my 13 became 12 yesterday (avg pace 12:00 on the nose). I'm just back from an hour of elliptical. This week will be the brutal 10/20 back to back.

Vic – So glad your foot is doing better.

Christa – great job on the 20 miler re-deaux

Krista & Steven – congrats on your race! Krista, I am so proud of you for finishing before those two guys who obviously thought you were behind them.

Terri – I ended up with blisters from the kayanos in exactly the same place.

So glad to hear about everyone who got their steps in this weekend. Goodness knows that with holiday shopping and family commitments and the pull toward the fridge instead of the workout supply basket, it would have been so easy to make a different choice.

Jodi – so glad you got clearance to train. Hope the PT helps. Great pix!

Kristi – Oh, my!!!! Nice pics there, girlie! :teeth: (couldn’t find the ‘drooling’ smilie)

fab – great to see you here. So glad your training is going well. Your children are beautiful!

nucpharm – Great job on the 12!

Sunny – Great pix! Can you come and do my house next? I don’t know when the heck Howard or I will find time to decorate but we have to have it all done by 12/10 when our friends who celebrate Hannukah come to share our Christmas celebration. Their kids really look forward to seeing our house all decked out, so it motivates me to get it done earlier than I might otherwise. BTW, I hope you aren't overdoing it!

Well, I did more training over the weekend than I thought I would, though nothing to write home about. Thursday, I walked to and from the beach house with a friend for the Turkey Bowl (flag football on the beach) and I think it was about 3.6 miles. Then, on Friday, I seriously overslept, but dragged myself out into the glorious 68 degree sunshine and did 8.4 miles on the bike path that runs most of the length of the island. I was actually pretty impressed with myself. I thought I’d go 2 miles and come back, but I felt so good and it was so nice out that I decided to go until 4 or coffee, whichever came first. I got to 4.2 without finding coffee and turned back. I LOVE the out-and-back method of training. Something mental, I am sure, but knowing I was heading back to the resort and not being exhausted on the outbound part of the course really helped.

I had loaded some new music on my shuffle and that helped, too. Here is what I put on:
Mountains by Lonestar
Please Mr. DJ by Rihanna
Lifetime Love by Keith Urban
If You’re Going Through Hell by Rodney Atkins
Walk Away by Kelly Clarkson

The bad news is that I just didn’t love the kayanos as I’d hoped and my feet were sore and I got a blister just behind the arch of my right foot on the inside edge. UGH! I have resigned myself to doing the full in the slippers/boats that are my New Balance 1122s. I am going to suck it up and pay an outrageous amount of money at a place on-line that sells discontinued shoes. And my feet will be very happy! :cool1:

Cam - That's an amazing list! You are hyper-organized! I'm always so impressed! :worship:

I'm sorry the Kayano's didn't work out for you. For whatever reason, I haven't yet gotten a blister on my feet. And with all the shoes I've tried too! Must be because I have such calloused feet from being in barn boots so many hours a day. They don't look very lady-like but it must work! :teeth:

Hi WISH Team! - Sorry it's long, I kept checking back and adding.

Mel, sounds like a great run this weekend to me. So it is confirmed that DD won’t be able to “walk” the event? Sorry to hear it but doing the Minnie in May sounds like a good plan for sure.

Kristi, love the siggie pics! Hey, wear your WISH shirt. You’ll stand out with them for sure! Good idea to get out slowly just now, although I’m not thinking of it as slow exactly. Good pace is ahead of the sweepers!

Stephanie, sorry about those shoes. I know it is not something happy right now for sure. Like already mentioned, that half size up might just do the trick. Good luck getting things sorted. Glad you were feeling ok the next day.

I must say every time I am thinking about the fact that there are only 2 more LRs before the event my stomach flips! Eek! It is close. Of course the weather prediction for the 9/18 mile Sat/Sun is not at all promising. I really don’t want to be indoors, I really don’t.

Jodi, great pics, thanks for posting them. Good news on the knees issue. Hope it all stays good from here on for you. No Black Friday for me unless a trip to the car dealer and a new car counts, then I guess I did make a Black Friday trip! We pick her up tonight after I get off work.

Jen, don’t be disappointed in your time. That is way ahead of the sweepers and time for pics too. You’ll pick up some on the day with all the excitement too. Oh, ee-yewwww on the dog bringing home a prize. My cat used to bestow presents on me all the time, not quite that large however. Sorry about the neighbors and I hope the dog feels better.

Matt, sorry about the run this weekend. Yup, I think your body was rebelling. If it is saying take it easy this Tuesday, make sure to listen put some steps in just don’t over do it. You will do fine this weekend then.

Fabumouse, Welcome to our group! Great to have you and you will so love it here! Congrats on your new addition and coming out to take the steps. Come often, post lots. Not slogging, Wogging! Walking/jogging=Wogging or as Dave puts it when you do pool work it’s swogging! Good for you getting out and taking the steps!

Vic, great news that you are managing those steps. That is great that you are getting to the World for some weekend fun! Say hi to all the DISers from me. I understand there is a mega gathering that I’m missing.

CJ, that is a fantastic pace you had! You will be able to play along the way. Glad the blistering is better and hope that all heals quickly. Sorry about the under things causing problems. I know what ya mean. I’m even trying to coach DS#1 about his choice, but he’s certain he’s got all his favorite gear and it will work…he’s been playing soccer since he’s been born so he figures he can go with whatever he’s been doing. I sure hope so. Layering is always a challenge for sure. The folks at the running store told me it’s ok to feel a bit cool when starting out since I heat up so fast. They said to not put more than 2 layers on, don’t know why, but I’ve stuck with it mostly. (except when it is windy and then I tie a jacket around my waist just in case)

Bill, that is great training you’ve got going on. I can’t believe you put up lights in between your LRs. You are da man!

Christa, what does she know! 8 or 8:30 that IS fast! She wouldn’t know if you gave her any pace so the seconds off is not an issue with her. To have someone say that to you who obviously doesn’t know and have you explain is not making you a bad person in any way. You deserve to sing out. It IS amazing what you do.

Krista and Steve, welcome back.

Krista, so sorry about the pains you are dealing with and hoping that things majorly ease up. Will you still have some “sweeper space” if you have to slow it way down or are you looking for a PR?

Terri, sorry about the interruptions from family with the training. I know how that goes for sure. WISH you the best getting it sorted and working.

Lynnda, love your “training” hope it was as successful and you WISHed.

Monica, yuck on all that snow! I guess TM is definitely your “friend.” Certainly I would feel that way considering the alternative.

Cecilia, glad you got your run in before you left for sure. I don’t think I could do this event if I had to train in that location, well, unless it was all TM training, eek! You should have borrowed Stehpanie’s dog if you were dodging road kill.
Please forgive me, but I just had to laugh. You found a cheering squad! Next time take the WISH cheer and distribute it.
Of course, the last time he bought a bike he decided it was too expensive to hang off the back of the car so he bought me a new van "to carry the bike." He bought the van in about 2 hours.
Oh this is too much! I know Lynne understands this completely right Lynne?

Dave, sorry about you Mom. You will do fine with the time off you’ve had. Don’t push today to make up for your days off. Take it easy. Your LR this weekend will be great!

Kelley, all I can think to say is Whoa! I do hope thing improve from here.

Amy, I am hoping that the ortho and chiro can get you feeling better. I’m glad you are consulting with them and hope they have the magic you need. Take it easy; things are so close. Go slow slow slow for that 18-miler if you try this weekend.

Judy, good that you got your TM in to at least cover the steps. That increase of pace during the week is a great way to get your pace increases, just don’t push too much. Work it in a little at a time. Listen to you! You want to be running outside! Way to go!

Wendy, I’d say you’ve got the packing thing down pretty good. Thanks for sharing the report.

Sunny, Oh my that is too funny about your marathon conversation! Love it. Great pisc and fun lights. Wow! On that pace you’ve got going. That is amazing to see the difference a few days make in what seemed like an impossible problem. I am so happy!

Cam, sorry about the shoes. Can you return them? Good for you that you were able to enjoy the great weather and it does sound as thought the R&R was good all around. I hope so. Thanks for posting up that great packing list.

I refrain usually, but ok the football sadness has brought this out of me. You all have nothing to complain on the football matter. For you football people, all I can say is what we say around here “How ‘bout them Browns!” You can’t feel bad about YOUR teams.

I forgot to say that one of the problems I’ve had the last couple of trips out is that I can’t remember to leave the body glide in my car and forgot to apply before leaving. Ouch, I deal with chub rub under arm the last 2 weekend LRs. I just hate this. Yesterday was rest day for me. Later tonight will be TM.

I posted up the packing lists on a separate thread. Hope this helps.

Note to self…check the meets thread to figure out Friday night dinner for race weekend.
