Hi WISH Team! - Sorry it's long, I kept checking back and adding.
Mel, sounds like a great run this weekend to me. So it is confirmed that DD wont be able to walk the event? Sorry to hear it but doing the Minnie in May sounds like a good plan for sure.
Kristi, love the siggie pics! Hey, wear your WISH shirt. Youll stand out with them for sure! Good idea to get out slowly just now, although Im not thinking of it as slow exactly. Good pace is ahead of the sweepers!
Stephanie, sorry about those shoes. I know it is not something happy right now for sure. Like already mentioned, that half size up might just do the trick. Good luck getting things sorted. Glad you were feeling ok the next day.
I must say every time I am thinking about the fact that there are only 2 more LRs before the event my stomach flips! Eek! It is close. Of course the weather prediction for the 9/18 mile Sat/Sun is not at all promising. I really dont want to be indoors, I really dont.
Jodi, great pics, thanks for posting them. Good news on the knees issue. Hope it all stays good from here on for you. No Black Friday for me unless a trip to the car dealer and a new car counts, then I guess I did make a Black Friday trip! We pick her up tonight after I get off work.
Jen, dont be disappointed in your time. That is way ahead of the sweepers and time for pics too. Youll pick up some on the day with all the excitement too. Oh, ee-yewwww on the dog bringing home a prize. My cat used to bestow presents on me all the time, not quite that large however. Sorry about the neighbors and I hope the dog feels better.
Matt, sorry about the run this weekend. Yup, I think your body was rebelling. If it is saying take it easy this Tuesday, make sure to listen put some steps in just dont over do it. You will do fine this weekend then.
Fabumouse, Welcome to our group! Great to have you and you will so love it here! Congrats on your new addition and coming out to take the steps. Come often, post lots. Not slogging, Wogging! Walking/jogging=Wogging or as Dave puts it when you do pool work its swogging! Good for you getting out and taking the steps!
Vic, great news that you are managing those steps. That is great that you are getting to the World for some weekend fun! Say hi to all the DISers from me. I understand there is a mega gathering that Im missing.
CJ, that is a fantastic pace you had! You will be able to play along the way. Glad the blistering is better and hope that all heals quickly. Sorry about the under things causing problems. I know what ya mean. Im even trying to coach DS#1 about his choice, but hes certain hes got all his favorite gear and it will work
hes been playing soccer since hes been born so he figures he can go with whatever hes been doing. I sure hope so. Layering is always a challenge for sure. The folks at the running store told me its ok to feel a bit cool when starting out since I heat up so fast. They said to not put more than 2 layers on, dont know why, but Ive stuck with it mostly. (except when it is windy and then I tie a jacket around my waist just in case)
Bill, that is great training youve got going on. I cant believe you put up lights in between your LRs. You are da man!
Christa, what does she know! 8 or 8:30 that IS fast! She wouldnt know if you gave her any pace so the seconds off is not an issue with her. To have someone say that to you who obviously doesnt know and have you explain is not making you a bad person in any way. You deserve to sing out. It IS amazing what you do.
Krista and Steve, welcome back.
Krista, so sorry about the pains you are dealing with and hoping that things majorly ease up. Will you still have some sweeper space if you have to slow it way down or are you looking for a PR?
Terri, sorry about the interruptions from family with the training. I know how that goes for sure. WISH you the best getting it sorted and working.
Lynnda, love your training hope it was as successful and you WISHed.
Monica, yuck on all that snow! I guess TM is definitely your friend. Certainly I would feel that way considering the alternative.
Cecilia, glad you got your run in before you left for sure. I dont think I could do this event if I had to train in that location, well, unless it was all TM training, eek! You should have borrowed Stehpanies dog if you were dodging road kill.
So I did my 20 miler through the state park. Two mile loops of what mountain dwellers call flat but it was 100% better than what I had anticipated. The campers in the park caught on after I had made several loops and started cheering me on which was funny and nice and finally annoying. I didn't feel like smiling and waving at mile 16 but I would hear one of the little kids yell "Here she comes again" How can you tell them to stop?
Please forgive me, but I just had to laugh. You found a cheering squad! Next time take the WISH cheer and distribute it.
Of course, the last time he bought a bike he decided it was too expensive to hang off the back of the car so he bought me a new van "to carry the bike." He bought the van in about 2 hours.
Oh this is too much! I know
Lynne understands this completely right
Lynne?
Dave, sorry about you Mom. You will do fine with the time off youve had. Dont push today to make up for your days off. Take it easy. Your LR this weekend will be great!
Kelley, all I can think to say is Whoa!

I do hope thing improve from here.
Amy, I am hoping that the ortho and chiro can get you feeling better. Im glad you are consulting with them and hope they have the magic you need. Take it easy; things are so close. Go slow slow slow for that 18-miler if you try this weekend.
Judy, good that you got your TM in to at least cover the steps. That increase of pace during the week is a great way to get your pace increases, just dont push too much. Work it in a little at a time. Listen to you! You want to be running outside! Way to go!
Wendy, Id say youve got the packing thing down pretty good. Thanks for sharing the report.
Sunny, Oh my that is too funny about your marathon conversation! Love it. Great pisc and fun lights. Wow! On that pace youve got going. That is amazing to see the difference a few days make in what seemed like an impossible problem. I am so happy!
Cam, sorry about the shoes. Can you return them? Good for you that you were able to enjoy the great weather and it does sound as thought the R&R was good all around. I hope so. Thanks for posting up that great packing list.
I refrain usually, but ok the football sadness has brought this out of me. You all have nothing to complain on the football matter. For you football people, all I can say is what we say around here How bout them Browns! You cant feel bad about YOUR teams.
I forgot to say that one of the problems Ive had the last couple of trips out is that I cant remember to leave the body glide in my car and forgot to apply before leaving. Ouch, I deal with chub rub under arm the last 2 weekend LRs. I just hate this. Yesterday was rest day for me. Later tonight will be TM.
I posted up the packing lists on a separate thread. Hope this helps.
Note to self
check the meets thread to figure out Friday night dinner for race weekend.
