Hey guys! Thought Id pop in for my once-a-week post (trust me, I am reading the thread, just haven't had time to reply).
KevinIm with you on the 5 mile max on the treadmill. Ill do more on it if I absolutely have to, but I get so sick of looking at the same walls after about 45 or 50 minutes. I need to watch a movie or something after that point.
Davecount me in as one who thinks training is getting hard right about now. Ive been tired a lot, although Ive been trying to get more sleep at night. The lack of daylight in the evenings probably doesnt help, either. But hey, we know well all get through this (and reading this thread definitely helps with motivation).
Melwow, what a race. You are crazy. Nice job on the finish.
Cam & HowardIm a little late on this one, but as everyone else has said, you are both in our thoughts and prayers.
Judy--Happy Anniversary!

about the stockings. Its funny how this crazy obsession we are all into opens up a whole new world of Christmas presents, huh? I know the rest of our family thinks Krista and I are crazy when we open running gifts from each other and actually get excited about it.
Carrieis there really such a thing as fashion for distance athletes? And to think Krista still rolls her eyes at me when I put on dark blue shorts and a black shirt to go run in.
Terithanks for the advice on treadmill running. I may have to try some of those tips the next time Im forced to do over an hour indoors.
Well, training is going fine so far this week. Im out of town for work, so I had to find a gym in Plainfield, Indiana, to get my runs in (not an easy task in a town as small as Plainfield

). My LRs last weekend took their toll on me. The 9 on Saturday was fine, but the 17 on Sunday was not fun. Just couldnt get into a rhythm. I felt tired and I was just glad to get it over with. This is the first time in training that Im beginning to think Goofy is going to be difficult. Anyone who trained for it last yeardid you ever feel like this in training?
On a better note, the Kayanos are working out great. Im just getting them to the nice, broken-in stage (you know, the point at which the shoes stop looking brand new and you feel like you can go out in public with them because you dont look like a new runner with spanking white running shoes?

). Im getting a little bit more heel slip in them than Id like, but Ill work through that.
Well, happy training everyone, and Hi to everyone that I missed. Were almost thereonly 51 more days till the WISH dinner!
