Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

I am currently working on Krokotopia and the only thing that I have not accomplished thus far in Wizard Citiy would be the Suken City part.
Quest: To Sunken City
Info: Find Grubb; Collect Item of Proof

Does anyone have any tips on how to complete this?

It is very diffcult as you can get pulled into battles even on the sidewalks and you need to complete it all at once, and if you "die" you have to start all over :badpc:

No advice. I've put the Grubb mission on hold indefinitely. LOL

That was the response I was actually expecting. :lmao: I can't imagine passing it.. with the help of some others I have only made it to the middle section. :rotfl2:

Go in with a group.
Take turns leaving to go back to heal, fill potion extra. (Note- make sure at least one person of group is left to stay in the area, lol)
Helps to have only one person run the sidewalk to the next area. If they got sucked into a unnecessary sidewalk battle, they could flee and try again. Of course, many of the sidewalk battles are rigged as part of the quest, so you have to fight them to get to the next tower or check in place. Then the rest of the group can teleport to them when they reach the tower/spot safely.
Leave lots of time, 2hours or so. It has to be done in one long series, if you have to log off or like the server goes down, it resets.

I need it too. My other attempts have failed. Luckily it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the storyline that I can tell, and I have been able to skip it.

Supposedly, they made it easier to avoid street battles there, but I haven't tried it. All you need to do is get a couple of experienced people to help you and it should go pretty fast.

There is a meet tonight! If it wasn't posted on this thread, checkthe Wizard 101 titles thread. I think it's at 9:00 (EDT) at the lake in Wizard City, Falmea Realm. :thumbsup2

I am going through the paces (in anticipation of launch) of training for the right final combination for me.

RIght now I am working with a Sorcerer (Balance) Wizard. I no longer see "Spectral Blast" as one of the spells. Does anyone know if they took that away, or if it's a "grant" reward from old Arthur Westerby?

And if you know, did you figure it out? It seems to have varying damage by type (Fire, storm, ice).

Also, at what level do you get the Mander Minion?
I miss him.:sad2:

Balance is the secondary school for my Myth Wizard and I've already received Spectral Blast with a Training Point. I haven't been on the game yet today, so don't know if it's been changed or taken away -- but I certainly hope not. I use it fairly frequently.

To answer your second question: It causes either 440 in Fire Damage, 365 Ice Damage, or 550 Storm Damage. The type of damage it inflicts is random and you have no control over it. Also, each damage type is subject to the same shields, traps & boosts as other spells of that type. If, for example, a monster has up a Fire Shield and Spectral Blast opts to inflict Fire damage, your spell will be weakened as if it were a regular Fire spell. It can, therefore, occasionally be risky to use -- but it can also be very rewarding, especially the Storm Damage (which is on a level with the Storm school's Kraken spell).

To me sunken city is not worth the effort since I think you only get like 65 experience points. If they made it worth while for the amount of time and effort needed then I would do it. But 2 hours I think it should be farther on in the tasks or made easier :)

First thanks for the answers. Next time you get into Ravenswood, check out the number of spells available in Balance and Death. Balance appears to go only to 22; Death seems to go to only 16!!:confused3

If it stays that way (and is not a bug) then I am wasting my time with my Balance/Myth Combo. I would be better off with Storm/Myth or Myth/Storm.
Also, with my current Balance/Myth combo I am Level 14. Thought you got the Mander Minion  before then. It seems that you get your Troll Minion (of 1X, 2X, or 3X life levels) much earlier than that.

Now that you do not get one additional monster every time you use your Minion, they are very helpful in street fighting and I miss having one.

If you can afford to buy lots of Pixie treasure cards I now wonder if Myth/Storm might be the best way to go. Especially if you duel solo a lot.

What do you think?

I'm pretty sure you get the rest of your Balance school spells from the school located on Krokosphinx Island. The Spectral Bast should be in that school and costs 1 point. I don't know about the Death school spells, but I assume that is the same, once you've discovered the hidden schools, you would go to those for your next spells.

It's as Goofy05 says: You will find the remainder of Balance or Death spells at their actual Schools (as opposed to the NPC in Ravenwood). You should have access to either school long before you reach the level at which you'd get any of the "missing" spells.

I don't know about Balance specifically, but I believe every school gets "special" spells and/or minions at level 18. Fire, I know, doesnt' receive a proper minion until Level 28, though they do get the quest for Heck Hound at level 18. And, yes, Myth gets several minions (Wood Puppet, Troll and Cyclops) well before the other schools.

Everybody's style of play is different. Personally, I prefer having the more powerful school as my primary (so Power Pips can fuel the major spells). The Myth minions complicate that equation somewhat, however -- especially for those who like to solo, as having them by your side can be a real life-saver. However, by the time you reach Marleybone & Mooshu, even they don't provide enough support for most battles.

Myth/Storm or Storm/Myth would be interesting combos, since the game considers them "opposites" (like Fire/Ice and Life/Death). Often, if you attack creatures of one type with spells from the opposite school, you will get a damage boost.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to where the Mander History Book is in Chamber of Fire?
Thanks:)

Don't those books show up after beating a boss? Do you have any bosses to fight in the Chamber of Fire? The book might be waiting for you after that. (I think :) )

Hope to hook up with some more DISers tonight!! My boss informed me today that I have to be to work at 5:30am tomorrow, so I won't be able to stay for very long.

If i remember correctly, the fellow that give you the task, says to turn right when you enter the Chamber of fire.

Havent seen much discussion on mini games so was curious what you all were doing

I used to play sorcerer stones (still do from time to time because i enjoy it) but so much work for so little reward

I recnetly started playing hot shots, in 2 minutes or so, if i score at least 3 grand, I usually get 30 mana 20 gold an item and a treasure card

What games are you finding successful for mana returns and then some? :)

ETA: dont forget about the DIS meet tonight :) (9pm EST)

I usually play conjuration, only takes a bit over 2k to get a full bottle and a bit of gold. It goes quick if you pay attention the first couple of rounds. And sometimes there has been a bug where you get the potion bottle and heal as well during conjuration.

The mini-game I play is the dig-dug like game - (don't remember the actual title). Not sure how it compares to others timewise, but for 4 grand I get a full potion bottle.

I'm doing the quest "Beat the Plague" for my professor. Does anyone happen to know where Cliffside Palace is in MooShu? I have to defeat Plague Oni.

The only minigame I can play is the conjuration lol

I find the best way to fill mana is the Skull Riders minigame. To me it's the quickest and easiest, but I am sure it varies person by person. Try it and you will be surprised at what you can get for only making it a few levels.
