Wishes 10/8/11 WP/GF-- Love's First Kiss-- Trip Report Complete

Hi there! Just jumping on-board with your PJ! Your plans sound wonderful, and your dress is GORGEOUS!! I love it!!

Congrats, Michelle!

Okay so I'm posting from my phone so this may be a little jumbled but--- Michelle, you look absolutely, positively gorgeous! You look breathtaking! I would not worry about bunching at all--- you look like a magazine bride! Your dress! And that VEIL!!! OMG!!!!!!! I can't wait to see the entire package :D

Thank you, Jackie! You are too sweet. I looooove my veil. It was exactly what I was looking for. I'll never want to take it off!

Ohhhhh I love love love the dress! It looks so lovely.

I'm more than likely almost two years away and I have the same feeling, just let me get married already! yikes! :)

Thanks! It's good that you're already feeling that way-- being this excited is way better than worrying about every little detail (that was me for the past few months). You're just one step ahead of the rest of us!

You look like a DREAM!!! Gorgeous!

I also am in love with that veil!!!! I love Claire Pettibone so much, I need to find her at cheaper prices, it's crazy how much she is over here! =[

Thank you Jenifer! You're so kind. Claire Pettibone must be hard to find outside of LA, she isn't carried by many stores (from my understanding). I just never got that *bridal* feeling until CP. During trunk shows I got 15% off and had some fees waived (like custom length, shipping, etc). It doesn't seem like much but I think it matters when you're talking about those kinds of prices! I know that I've seen my dress specifically pop up on previously owned gown sites-- it was like $200!! Crazy!

Wow, your dress is amazing! just beautiful! :)

Thank you so much Faye! I am getting so excited, I can't wait to wear it!

Wow! Amazing! Simply amazing!!! You make that dress look absolutely gorgeous!!! And that veil!! Spectacular!

I'm sure Brandon will be grinning from ear to ear!!! I know my jaw dropped and I'm not getting married to you! I can only imagine what his reaction will be!

Thank you Janna! You are such a sweetheart. I cannot wait for Brandon to see it, I really think he will like it, at least I hope so! We're not doing a first look, so the first moment will be when those WP doors open! I get butterflies thinking about it!

your dress and veil are fantastic!! they look great. i'm in loveeeee with the veil! so pretty!!

Thank you Deena! I love the veil too! I'm so happy with how everything has come together. I got a little discouraged after I bought my dress-- I kept seeing reviews online that said what a perfect beach wedding dress it is! I worried if it would work for my formal wedding. But now, I'm so happy with my choice. I think it's too lacy and intricate for a beach wedding!

Hi there....just joining in!!!! Congrats!!! I love your gown....as soon as I saw it, the song from Snow WHite popped into my head....from the wishing well scene...." I'm wishing.... I'm wishing.....for the one I love.."
DD5 sings that alot...lol

Havent read everything, but had to comment what a beautiful bride you are going to be!!!

Oh my goodness I wish you could see how excited I got when I read your comment! "One Song" (particularly the reprise titled "Love's First Kiss") is the basis for my entire wedding vision! It's the romantic, vintage, elegant aesthetic I'm trying to achieve! Thank you Diana!!

Michelle sweetie - I really don't know how I missed your earlier post with the pictures of you in your dress, but now I have seen them, it is just as I suspected. You look absolutely stunningly beautiful!!! I can see no bunching just a really gorgeous bride!!! You really look every inch the princess and I am so looking forward to this wedding as it is going to be so classy and so pretty!!
Not long to wait now!!

Thank you Joanne!! You brought such a big smile to my face! I really feel like a princess in my dress! I can't wait for the wedding day, it will be like walking into a dream I've had for almost 2 years now! My plan to beat the post-wedding blues is to write a TR. I hope others enjoy reading it, I absolutely love reading TRs (and some I have gotten flat-out addicted to!) Less than 5 weeks now!

Awww! You look wonderful in the dress. I love the veil I really do! :goodvibes

Thank you! I was so worried at the first two fittings, now to be this happy is just that much better! I adore my veil, it makes me feel very regal!

The dress and veil look gorgeous! I'm glad to hear everything is working out!

Thank you Nicole! It really feels like a fairytale moment, with everything coming together at the last moment! I absolutely cannot wait for the wedding trip!

Hi there! Just jumping on-board with your PJ! Your plans sound wonderful, and your dress is GORGEOUS!! I love it!!

Congrats, Michelle!

Thank you for reading, Faith! Everything is falling into place-- we only have a few little things left! I feel so giddy and excited, this anticipation is wonderful!

Ok...I just got goose bumps reading your response....didnt put it together abt your screen name...guess I need to start reading from page 1 !!!
When do you arrive for your wedding in Disney?? We leave the 4th!
Well I believe your vision is clear for everyone to see!! I have so many PJ's I want to read, and I just kinda skim....thats why I am up so late! lol
You are almost at the ONE month mark yippee!

Just a quick update, Disney emailed me this morning and confirmed that we have Regina for our photographer!!

I am so happy-- I absolutely loved Andrea's photos and I changed my preference after seeing them! I was a little anxious because I have read of brides not getting their choice of DEP photographer and there were some that I really did NOT want (from seeing their samples on the DEP site).

I never worried about using Disney for photography until seeing some of the experiences on here. The only outside photographer I found that I genuinely wanted was Misty Miotto, but she was already booked when I contacted her last fall.

I'm completely happy with Regina, and I can't wait to see what beautiful images she captures!

Glad to hear you got a deal! ;D It's always nice. The only way for me to find her is to go to Kleinfeld's in NYC, which I'd love to go. But I know if I went there my dream gown is in their possession and it's way out of my budget but I know I'd find a way to put her on. So I'm just not going near there. lol. ;D

Happy to hear about the photographer! Your pics are going to be stunning! Especially with your gown! And that veil is totally swoon worthy!!

Oh I could never go to Kleinfeld's... it drives me crazy on the show when the consultant puts the bride in a dress that is out of her budget!! I would hate to fall in love with a dress and then not be able to purchase it. That's so unfair of them!

Yay!!!!:cheer2::cheer2: I am soooooo glad you got Regina! You are absolutely going to love her, both as a photographer and as a person! She will come up with so many creative pics for you and make you feel totally at ease! I can't wait to see your pictures!

Thank you! You were absolutely the reason I emailed everyone I could think of to get Regina-- your pictures are to die for! I can't wait to meet her!

I'm so happy that everything is falling into place! It's going to be a completely magical day for you and Brandon!!! :lovestruc

Thank you Janna! We're both getting so close now!! I think this month is going to be the best yet. I genuinely feel this wonderful sense of calm-- the construction and the little details aren't worrying me much anymore. It's so nice.

Michelle sweetie - I am so happy that you got your photographer of choice. One less thing to worry about!!!

Exactly! I feel so confident we will love Regina's work. I had been kicking myself about not researching photographers early on in the planning, but it turned out perfectly, thank goodness!

Thank you! Yes, it's all falling into place! I promise to update, I love sharing pictures and I can't wait to write a TR!

Omg Snow White Pez!! I would have died for that as a kid. Thanks for reading!

I need to vent.

I mentioned a few months ago that for our ceremony, I want everyone's entrance timed out (as opposed to just playing the CD and people walking when it seems right and risk the songs not being the correct length). I have brought this up with my planner many times now but she has always casually brushed it off, saying that that's not really how they do it.

Well I sent her an email two days ago mentioning (among many, many other things) that I want the entrances timed. Brandon and I took months (literally) to pick all the ceremony songs. Part of the reason it took so long is that we picked songs that all flow beautifully together. For example, the end of the groom & guys' song sounds like it was made to be followed by the beginning of the bridesmaids' song. The songs are really beautiful together. I also generally hate the idea of one song being played more than once-- how horribly repetitive and dull. And for a song to be cut off would take the resolution of the song away. I danced for 16 years, with a strong emphasis in classical ballet, and I believe that every good song tells a story.

So yesterday evening I got a reply from my planner that was negative, and quite frankly, very rude. It seems to me like she is refusing to time the entrances, and she denied my idea of having my sister do it (my sister who has directed numerous local theatre productions and can manage a simple timed entrance).

Now I am horribly frustrated, for three reasons.

1) I am a paying client, and I am not asking for your opinion. I am telling you how I want this done. I did not pay for you to tell me how my wedding should be.

2) This is an extremely easy thing to do-- I am not asking for something outlandish! She is acting like something is bound to go wrong and timed entrances would never work. In both weddings I have been in, the entrances were timed. Nothing dreadful happened. We are all adults and can walk when someone says "walk". Why cause such a fuss over something she could so easily deliver?

3) Now I feel like my wedding planner is not on my side. I feel like she is against me, and my trust in her is gone. Honestly, I don't even want to speak to her anymore.

I hate being a downer. It feels so much better to be able to express my frustration, though.

i'm sorry this is happening. it's not like you're trying to cure a disease or anything. this should be simple--it should be what you want! wishes brides are led to believe that it is custom to your dreams---and you can't even have people walk in when you want them to? i feel like this is not a big deal to have done?? you asked for it, you're paying, do it!

i hope it all works out. if not, i would just have your sister do it anyway.

Every wedding that I have gone to has had a timed entrance! They work! I love them. Good Luck, I hope this works out! I'm hoping that I feel comfortable with my planner! This is a worry for me. I don't want songs cut off either!

Okay, my curiosity is getting the better of me. Is there a specific reason that she mentioned why this can not be done or why your sister can do this? It really seems to me that it would be no effort on their part.

Best of luck! My advice would be to just plan on doing it, with or without their permission! Ask them how the music will be played (on an organ, audio system, ect) and then have your sister coordinate. What are they going to do? Cause a big scene during your wedding because of it? I don't think so.

I'm sorry I missed it--- but congratulations on getting Regina! Her work is fabulous. I really hope we get her for our Epcot photo shoot!

Anyway, seriously Disney?!?! What the heck!!!! There should be *no* reason you can't do a timed entrance, especially if your sister is willing to do so. You are not asking them to move the moon for you; you are literally asking them for NOTHING!!!!!! Ugh, this makes me so irritated. I would continue to push the issue if I were you and demand reasons. :grouphug:

My sweet Michelle - I am so sorry that you have had this negative and, frankly, rather nasty response from your planner!!! It really appears sometimes, that the planners just cannot be bothered to make even the slightest effort to bring a brides dreams to life!!! Is it possible to speak to someone a bit higher up the ladder? You have worked so hard on the entrances and have exquisite taste, and I am sure what you have planned would be beautiful. Why can't a supposedly professional wedding planner see how important this is to you?? It is totally beyond my comprehension!!!!

Ugh, why are people so danged stupid?! I seriously hate it. But I know EXACTLY what you're going thru all to well. I've been dealing with some of the same things with my venue.. not necessarily my coordinator. But the owner of the venue and I feel more like a $ sign than a bride. It SUCKS.

I hope hope hope this can be resolved. Is there anybody else that you can contact? OR what if you made a cd of the songs and just gave it to them to play? In which you simply time out the music and burn the songs as one song as a whole?? I hope that makes sense?? It's a way to make you happy and not have the coordinator have to worry about 'timed entries'. Aoy.

I hope you can sort all this out and have the music and entrances just how you are dreaming they will be. Lilsqueakerr's idea about burning your own CD with the songs played exactly as you want them played, sounds like it may be a good compromise.

Good luck
Gertiesquidge
