So.

I'm highly allergic to seafood so no fish for me, but before the allergy I would never eat fish for breakfast. My 10-year-old grandson likes Sushi for breakfast.

Does not compute. Fish is. NOT for breakfast - or ANY time. At least for me.
Smoked Salmon is a common breakfast option at breakfast buffets. Locks and bagels. I have seen smoked trout on cruise ship breakfast menus. Not fish, but beans too, which are apparently a British traditional breakfast item.

You missed my addendum. "At least for me."

Plenty of people in the world don't like fish or are allergic.

I didn't get past the "does not compute". Same can be said for eggs. People don't like them or have deadly allergies to them.

Two things I absolutely loved on our AK cruise;
1) Risotto - I can't make it anywhere near as good as the chefs on board
2) Smoked Salmon - took the place of bacon or sausage on the breakfast plate only WAY better and much better for you.
I mean, everything else was great too, but those two things, simple as they are, really stuck with me.

Sure, but at least it is something because a large number of people eat eggs for breakfast whereas, in all my years, this is the very first time I've heard it mentioned as an option. I'm OK with that. If one likes fish for breakfast, who am I to stop them. The more I think about it, I do seem to remember seeing Salmon at a breakfast buffet. I just thought they forgot to remove it from the night before or it might have been more of a brunch.

That\s cool. Bagels are a common breakfast item at the breakfast buffets I have been to, and cream cheese and locks (smoke salmon) are usually options to put on them.

Lox and cream cheese (schmear) on bagels, I guess. I don't know anyone who eats fish as a breakfast food.

Yes to kippers which like others I always look for on cruises.
Also pickled herrings in cream sauce, herrings Matjes, smoked herrings..okay just bring them however you like to prep them and I’ll see if there’s a method I don’t like, 😂
Sable
Nova salmon or cured, wet or dried
White fish salad
Sturgeon
Smoked eel
And don’t forget the cuke and health salads as well as the bagels and bialys.

Live a little and get a non digital copy of the Sunday Times and let the living room sprawl begin.

To each his own, I guess! Personally I can't think of a more awful way of starting my day than with a mouth full of fish. Probably, my dislike comes from my Catholic upbringing and the forced fish every Friday. I just barely tolerate Fish at dinner time SO definitely not as a day starter.
