Well lets see now...... An easter trip two weeks or so before easter??!! Ummm sure.... and what part of advanced planning don't I understand??

Well my genius daughter called member services and switched the trip!! The family will be arriving April 6th (Rachels' birthday) and will be there for two weeks!!!

I have to work over Easter, so I will arrive on the 14th and will leave with Rachel and the boys on April 21st!!! I am amazed that I got time off on such short notice, but I think my boss was just so happy that I'm not taking almost three weeks off in May!!

Oh!!!! And other really big news today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are founding members at bay lake towers!!! Our guide called us today and told us to submit our tile wording!!! Woo hoo!!

Oh my gawd!! I'm going to WDW in three weeks!!!!

I have to go to work in a bit, so I'll post more tomorrow!!!!

Oh my gawd!!! Rachel woke me up a few times today to try to arrange things. Well I worked all night last night, got caught up in the excitement and just realized I wont be there for the Mammoth May Meet....... Oh my gosh, where is my crying smily!!!!!!!!! I am SO bummed!!!!! I can't believe this!! Oh no... all our dining reservations!!! Well I have to go to work, so I will have a little time to think things over.... bummer...

But we get to see Travis!!!! Rachel booked him the Richard Petty Driving experience!!!!!!! It will be on the day before easter!!!!!!

Oh man what a quagmire of emotions!!!!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday!! We spent all day yesterday trying to find less expensive on-site reservations for the first part of Rachel, Travis and the boys trip.
Well its a bit scary as there are NO rooms available at any value or moderate resorts or any studios or one bedrooms at ANY DVC resorts!
Rachel had a studio on hold at OKW for the nights of April 6-10 but it is a cash reservation.
It will cost twice as much as it would have been to purchase points from another DVC member.
There were some very nice DVC members willing to sell us points, thank you to them again, but we can't get a reservation. So Rachel booked the OKW studio.
They will also have the dining plan, so that is a plus!!
As for other news, I bought a bathing suit today! I am so not a bathing suit person. It needed to be done though as last time I was wishing I had brought one as the pool looked so inviting. So, if I want to go this time, I can!
I hope everyones planning is going well! I'm off to check out some more reports!!

First, I am so happy to hear about Travis' recovery and how everything appears to be going well there. I pray that his feeling will return to normal in that thumb!

How proud you must be of Travis. It was a very thoughtful and priceless gift that he gave to his fellow serviceman to change leave times to enable them to be there for their children's birth! What a wonderful young man. It's just lovely to read about something like this with all the rotten news in the world.

And he was gifted with a sooner leave himself! Which can cause havoc with the Disney planning, but still. He gets to see his family sooner! I'm so glad to hear that things are working out as well as they are in transfering their plans to the earlier time.

And good job getting a new bathing suit! It's a necessary item on vacation.

I'm so looking forward to hearing more...I'm glad you've had a chance to update and post.

Wow!!!!! Things have been super wonderful and excruciatingly busy and crazy all at the same time!! I can not believe how hard it is to plan a whole vacation over Easter in such a short amount of time! Dining plans.... oh my gosh, we certainly got lucky, but oh my gosh this has been stressful!!

Rachel flew out with the boys today!! It is also her birthday!!! Happy Birthday Rachel!!!! She is at Old Key West and arrived there about 12:30 this afternoon! She checked in, went to Animal Kingdom, got hers and Connors annual passes, ate at Rain Forest Cafe (which she found disappointing unfortunately), and then spent her gift card at the shop in OKW. Now the bad side. Connor has a TERRIBLE cold! This poor child gets sick before every vacation we take!! (Good thing we don't vacation too often!)

Travis will be arriving either late, late tonight or sometime tomorrow depending upon how his flights work out!!!!! I know he is over the top excited as he even left his phone with a friend in case Rachel called, just so he could tell Rachel that Travis had left Iraq!!!

On the 10th they move to SSR and Rachel gets her birthday cake!!!!! I ordered it from SSR but since they don't have room service Rachel has to pick it up. I decided to order it for the 10th as I figured it would be easier not to have to move leftovers to a new resort. Ummmm, the reason I am thinking there will still be leftovers is because I had to order a 10" cake, that serves 18 to get what I wanted. I guess I was a bit anal about our first ever disney cake. (Inless you count the disneyland 50th birthday cupcake I had). The only cakes I have had are thosr little plastic container cakes. I hope this one will be good! It will be made by the Grand Floridian bakery!!

It is marble cake, with bavarian creama d fresh strawberry filling, covered with buttercream frosting. On top in addition to "Happy Birthday in Pink it will have a dangle type tinker bell (her favorite character), that they said looks as if it is flying, which will be surrounded by pink flowers!! I just hope it tastes good!!

I can't believe how much stuff Rachel had to bring with her!! But she was packing for four, she, the kids and Travis...... so, three fairly large suitcases, two carry ons ( one for her and one for Connor) and BOB. Who is Bob you may ask?? It is her double jogging stroller. This thing is gargantuan, but it is SO easy to push and turns easier than any stroller I have ever pushed!!! Rachel Bob!!! But she loves that Travis is going to be there to lift Bob in and out of busses.

In my next post I will list our dining reservations. We were going to do the QSDP the whole time, but we scored enough good restaurants (I hope, we have only been once and only ate cs), that we are doing basic dining.

Dining Itinerary:

4/14: My arrival day: Raglan Road 6:00

4/15: Grand Floridian Cafe 5:45

4/16: Spoodles 5:05 We were going to go to Mama Melrose, but could only get a lunch seating and I didn't see lasagna on the menu. If Travis goes Italian he wants Lasagna.

4/17: Le Cellier 11:35 or Teppan Edo 12:00 The cm insisted we take both reservations as Le Cellier is only for a table of 4. She said she knows they will try to fit us in as we have the baby and can sit at a 4 top with a high chair, but she wanted us to have a back up in case. I thought that was really sweet!

4/18: Konas 7:00 I'm not sure if the boys will be awake for this one so we will make sure they have a hearty snack around 5.

4/19: Boma 5:10

4/20: Crystal Palace 10:30 and then Hoop De Doo, out of pocket!

I've never eaten there or GFC, but have read great things about both. GFC looks like a pretty restaurant too. Score on LeCellier, even for lunch, that's amazing to get on such short notice! Kona and RR were on my to try list but I couldn't fit them in. Looking forward to hearing about your dining! And I LOVE CP and Boma (especially the soup!).

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised that Rachel was disappointed at RFC. We ate at the one in Kansas City area and it was just okay. It was really, REALLY loud and the food was mediocre which made for a somewhat disappointing dining experience overall. Ah well. She can say that she's been there, done that!

LOL and that is exactly what she said!! I had heard about the Cat Cora change to spoodles, so I am glad we are getting to try that!!
I hope Le Cellier works out as I know Travis will love it, but I also know we would enjoy Teppan Edo, so I think we'll have fun no matter what!
