Let's hope they can get that infection under control. My DH got the MRSA strain of staph after his nerve graft surgery. It was pretty gross what it did to his wound. So I know it can be scary. Let's hope the antibiotics do what they're made to do!!

Love all your purchases. I need to get to the Disney Store. The girls are in need of some cute tees. Josie (DD3) asks me every day if we are going to the castle today. It's so cute when they get so excited. I can understand why you are keeping it low key at this point. Hopefully you'll soon have a reason to escalate the excitement.

Thank you so very much! I am so sorry to heat that you and your DH had to go through that!! Being an RN I deal with pts with MRSA on a daily basis. Unfortunately it is rampant in our society and will probably never be eradicated. Thank you for your concern!!!

I feel so torn as it would be hard for Travis to let his platon and platoon Sgt down. He is very good at and very proud of the job he does! I am praying the Dr's will use their wisdom to make the correct decision based on Travis' needs! Thank you so much!!

Thank you everyone, disers are the best!!! We heard from Travis and at this point he is neither better or worse, which to me at this point is VERY good news!!! They switched his antibiotic to keflex! It is a very good/strong broad spectrum antibiotic! I was very happy the Dr. made that decision . Keflex should start to make a positive difference within 48 to 72 hours!! So far he is not sick from it either, which is a BIG plus!! Thanks again everyone!!

I really missed being here the past couple of days!! I work 12 hour night shifts and the past two nights I was the pediatric nurse on our floor .
I haven't done too much peds nursing except when I was an OR manager and when I did PACU(post anesthesia recovery). I am so NOT a peds nurse! It is much more fun to be here on the boards!
Now I'm off to get caught up!!

Some good news! Travis has less swelling in his hand overall. The wound area is still very swollen though. Dr. sais it looks as if the Keflex may be starting to work!!
I love it when things start looking up!!! Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and prayers!!
