Will we ever get back?? Travis is Veteran of the Day!!!!

Great News!!!

party:

Oh I'm so glad to hear the postive report for Travis!:yay:

This is wonderful news!

Glad to hear it!:goodvibes
Thank you so much everyone. I am starting to feel better about doing some more planning!! I looked at monorail pictures, AKV pictures and SS pictures with Connor today. He was so cute, he said "Gramma we should just tell Mommy we want to go to Mickeys house today". :goodvibes He is my grandson for sure!!
Also we got our Disney Files magazine today and it talked about cars land in Disney CA, the Hawaii resort and some movies that are going to be made including Pirates of the Caribbean 4, A new National Treasure movie and also the fact that Cars 2 would be released about a year earlier than previously announced.
Also for you Johnny Depp fans he will be making more disney films. Jim Carrey is also going to be making disney films including a version of A Christmas Carol, where he plays Scrooge in 5 decades, plus the ghosts.
Hope you all had a wonderful day!!

Thanks for the news! Hope your day was wonderful and even better tomorrow!

What a Blessing! Things are looking much brighter, for a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day! ;)

I can't wait to hear more planning. I have been planning crazy!

:dance3:

So glad to hear about Travis! He will be healed and ready to hit the World before you know it!

I got my Disney Files too and read it from cover to cover. That Hawaii resort looks AMAZING! Ahhhh, one day...:cloud9:

Hi! How are things with the family and Travis? Are we any closer to locking in on an itinerary? I can't wait for the day that you tell all of us that Travis is going to make it for sure...my thoughts and prayers continue!

hi there.. I followed you over from my PTR and Im enjoying reading it ... Well Im sorry to hear all about your DSIL Travis and hoping all is well with him..

I see your grandbabies and it reminds me of mine.. My oldest is 2 and will be 3 in July and the youngest is 9 months.. We took our oldest to WDW last year in February and she had a blast and then they both went with us last August.. the youngest really was too young to enjoy it or remember anything as she was about 4 months old at the time, but our older one has such a blast and to those that say the little ones are too little to enjoy or remember it, they are so wrong.. she remembers it and talks about it all the time.. I cant wait til we can take her again.. although it may be a few years before that happens.. I still cant wait..

I loved reading all your food choices.. there are so many to choose from that it almost makes impossible but you guys will be there for such a great amt of time so that makes it even better because you get the chance to try more than the average person would.. you lucky duck!!

Well I cant wait to hear more.. keep us updated on Travis.. He is in my prayers!!

Hi there! Where have you been? Is Travis doing okay?

Still praying for Travis. Any updates?

Hello everyone!! I am so sorry I have been gone so long! Real life (vs disney planning life) got in the way big time. HHow dare that happen, lol.

First off, thank you so much for all the good wishes for Travis!! He got his stitches taken out day before yesterday. No signs of infection any longer, but unfortunately he has a lot of numbness in his thumb which they are unsure of being temporary or permanent at this time. Still and all he is healing and we are all very happy at as well as everything is going!

Second, wow!! The May meet is getting so exciting!! It's getting huge!! I can't wait to meet a lot of you there!! That will be so great!!

Next up, the reason for my long hiatus, I have a friend at work who is a single parent. She is quite a bit younger than I am and since her Mom is in MI she considers me her "second Mom". Her son and daughter were sick, she caught it and I was spending my time off helping her with things. They are all doing better now, and a lot of things at home have been caught up on now, thank goodness!

Next post, more disney planning!!

Wow! There is sure a lot of controversy about the new "official" fan club! I was excited by all the hype, and I will admit I joined on March 10th. I also bought my daughter a charter membership as her birthday gift.
I will admit I was hoping it might have been some kind of a discount program, but I am happy that they offered something and I hope as time goes by it becomes even more!
We also booked a trip foe Ho Jo's in Anaheim for the Sept. dates of the expo as we want to bring the boys to disneyland.
So how do you all feel about the whole d23 offering? Not trying to start any controversy here, just curious!!:goodvibes
I needed new luggage, so I ordered a set off disneyshopping.com. They had it on clearance (my favorite way to shop). It is black with a small red mickey head on each piece!
We should know by tomorrow if Travis has his dates off in May for sure! He said that people have been able to leave either the 13th or the 22nd so far. We are hoping he will get the 13th, two days travel, arrive at WDW 15th, depart for Iraq from WDW on the 29th.
So far we have the 13th thru June 1st booked and ready, so we may be able to pare a few days off one end or the other? (Wish there was a fingers crossed smily)
We now have a new prediciment however. Travis wants to have some nice meals, but is totally against so many sit down meals. So despite our enthusiasm for our ADR's, we may have to switch to the quick service plan and just keep a couple of TS reservations. What will be hard is to decide which ones??
Any suggestions?? I am leaning toward keeping LeCellier. Turf Club and Boma. Not too sure what else though.
We now made another change also. We had a trip booked in early december, concierge at AKV and magic kingdom view at bay lake.
We ended up canceling that due to the fact that Travis wants to go to the daytona 500 next year. So now we are staying a week at AKV in February, followed by some days at bay lake (when Travis, or the whole family go to the daytona 500). Whole family does not include Gramma though. I will be going to epcot and the mk instead.:rolleyes1
So please fill me in on all of yours trip planning please!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Wow, I lost a post somehow??!! The reason for my hiatus from the boards is due to a friend I have at work. She is a single parent and her family is in MI.
because of this she considers me a "second Mom".
Her kids both came down with a nasty flu bug. Because of this, the lady who normally watches them couldn't.
Well luckily we work a lot of opposite shifts, so I could watch them on my nights off. Then poor Mommy got the flu! So I helped Mommy keep stocked up on medicine, fluids and soup. So far I haven't gotten it or brought it home to my babies here..... so, heres hoping!!
Anyway, thanks again for all the good wishes!! I can't wait for the May meet. It will be so much fun to meet so many of you there!!!!:goodvibes I am definately going to order t-shirts!! What a great remembrance!
Hope all is going well for everyone!! I hope to catch up on every ones pre trip and trip reports!!

Glad to hear that Travis got his stitches out. Hope the feeling comes back. Crossing my fingers that he gets the right date tomorrow. You are a nice friend to help out the sick family. I don't know much about the new club but am going to check out that luggage asap!

Yay! You're back! I was starting worry a little. I'm so glad that Travis' hand is healing and I'm hoping that the feeling will return soon. I'm a little selfish but I'm hoping that Travis gets the 13th. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your family at the DIS Meet. :goodvibes

I'm so happy to hear that Travis is recovering well and that you are able to make more Disney plans with a happy heart.

Forgot to answer you questions from yesterday. I'm not really inspired by D23. I'm happy with Mickey Moms Club and it was free.

As for ressies, we have done Le Cellier and Boma. Le Cellier is yummy although I do think it is a little overhyped. As for Boma, it is a buffet which is good for impatient kids although some of the dishes would definitely require a certain type of pallet. My husband rated Boma the worst meal we had last year. I didn't mind it but I wasn't blown away either. If I had never seen AKL I think I would make the trip to Boma just to see the lodge.

Awwww, thanks hon!! Believe me, I gained as much helping her as I gave up! She is a very special lady and a wonderful Mom!! I have BIG news coming up in a minute!!!

Thank you so very much!! His attitude is awesome and he is convinced that he will get all the feeling back in his thumb!!! I really need a fingers crossed smily!!!!

Glad to hear that Travis is recovering.

How nice of you to help your friend out, what a special person. :goodvibes
Awww thank you!! I really am not the special person, she is!! She is a great nurse and a great Mom and I love her to pieces!!

I can understand about liking the Mickey Moms club better. I am still torn about D23 but am in it for at least this year. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: about Boma! But my daughter is a very adventurous eater, I  soup and I understand they have great soup!! So I hope we will like it!!

Well coming up next, the BIG news!! Have I said yet how much I HATE the US Army???!!!!???? Grrrrrrr!!!:scared1:

Well, those of you still following our saga will be surprised that we are not going to be able to take our May trip :confused3 :scared1:  :headache:   :scared: (and insert a crying smily here please!)

The US Army, in all of it's wisdom told Travis today that he will not get leave in May. The reason is a good one (several men have babies due in May and want to go home to see them (can you imagine that! lol j/k). Travis in his "army" way of being a team player volunteered to change dates for R&R with one of his fellow soldiers.:scared1:

I am actually VERY proud of him for this!!!:lovestruc :worship: :goodvibes . Their baby was born 5 days after he returned from deployment and we all held our breaths until he got home. Luckily he made it as he was at the birth with Rachel and got to cut Jacobs cord, just as he had done with Connor!!!:goodvibes

So good reason for changing, but :scared1: . Travis tried to not be disappointed about not going to Disney, but he seemed devastated to miss out on his first trip!! Wellll...........

Travis was changed BACK to his first choice of leave, over Rachels birthday!!! When is that you ask???

Travis will leave Iraq on April 5th and arrive on April 6th ot 7th to Orlando!! OH MY GAWD was my first thought!! That means he will be there over Easter!!!!!:scared1:

Well Rachel went furiously to work!! I swear my daughter is a genius!!!!  :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :dance3:
