Will they allow me to wear a red and white polka dot dress?

I went to Marshall's yesterday and found THE CUTEST red and white polka dot dress! I loved the cut and look of the dress and was thinking of wearing it for MNSSHP for my trip this September (I've changed my mind 3 times so far when it comes to what costume to wear. *sigh*)

Anyway, my plan was to wear the dress in the morning while we tour another park and then just add Minnie ears (and maybe gloves) for the party that night. Do you think I'd be allowed to do this? I know that adult guests are not supposed to dress up like the characters but since this is not an actual Minnie costume, do you think it'll be ok?

I think the dress is darling. The back is a little bit revealing but not indecently so. It also came in blue and my mom bought that one. :lmao:

I think you should be OK as long as you do not put on a giant mouse head as well ;).

Just dont sign autographs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds ok to me... like you said - it's not actually a minnie costume - just a red dress with white dots. :thumbsup2 And the idea of adding ears and gloves for the party sounds like a great costume -- comfortable and easily recognizable!!!

As long as you don't sign autographs and take pictures with people or give Disney reason to think you're doing so, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, putting on some Minnie ears with a red and white dress wouldn't be enough to cause this situation, so I think you're 100% okay :thumbsup2

I saw 2 girls (maybe late teens or early 20's) in the red pokadot dress on Saturday at the MK. They had on their Minnie Mouse headband ears.. they looked soooo cute. No one denied them entry, they were near the train station.

:confused3 I also saw a gentleman dressed up like Johnny Depp (sword on the side and all) ... I had to take a second look to see if there were any CM's near him. He was near Pirates waiting for the show! No one denied him entry, and let me tell you, he was dressed to the hilt! I was shocked nothing was said to him. When the show started, he was just a guest in the audience.. not a CM for sure! Also saw a mother with her 2 children at the same show, she too was dressed up as a pirate.. :confused3 She had the eye patch & make up, the stripe (pink pirate) shirt, bandanna on, even the hook on her hand, the black capri's... her children were dressed as well. Now why weren't these two spoken two :confused3 The way these were dressed, I didn't see much of a difference in Tink from the past? The two girls with pokadot dresses were different, just very cute dresses with headband ears :thumbsup2 the others had props with them. I don't get Disney's inconsistency.

By the way, the dress in the pic is identical to what those girls had on too... and they looked very nice, appropriate for the weather and fun...

I could see them saying something to the Johnny Depp Look-a-like, but in general the adults that do pirates league aren't going to confuse any little kids. The tink costume was a problem because little kids think Tink is real -- and of course she is -- so 1) they might think the girl was Tinker Bell, and Disney would have no control over how she portrayed Tinker bell 2) They might then think the real Tinker Bell is also someone dressed in a costume and the magic is ruined for them.

we all know she is :thumbsup2 but how would a young child know the difference between pirate league and a CM just as some didn't in the case with "Santa" the other day  and he wasn't even in costume, but Santa like "attire" such as pirate league attire..... right :confused3 on the same token, "mom" wasn't stopping for pic's, she was taking pic's of her own kids but in a young child's mind, they don't understand. Parents do, but kids don't. Yes, JD look-a-like. He was in full costume. He should have been spoken to. I was tempted to take a pic of him to show on here, but then figured if someone saw me, that would start a commotion. I didn't want to do that...:goodvibes

Well, the problem that WDW had with "Santa" was not his looks, but the fact that he was signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Since Minnie is not a "face character" ie: Tinkerbelle, the princesses, Mary Poppins, etc... you'll be fine. I would imagine they would allow mouse ears even during the day.

I did state that the "mom" wasn't doing that :goodvibes however, neither was Tink, she was asked to leave, and JD look alike in full costume was not asked to leave.. he wasn't taking pics or signing auto's either.. as I said, no consistency.. that is all :goodvibes I wasn't looking for a debate, just stating what I saw and stating how there was no clear consistent policy, that is all :goodvibes

the girls I saw did have the ears on... and like I said, they were just the headbands that Disney sells. :thumbsup2

neither was Tink, she was asked to leave

The fifteen year old Tink who made the news awhile back WAS apparently asked by at least one guest to sign an autograph...and she was NOT asked to leave the park. She was asked to put a shirt on. The Disney suits even gave her a shirt to put on. It was the reaction of Tink and her family to that request that kept them out of AK.

We do not know if at some point in the day that the guest dressed as JD was also asked to change.
OP - I think your dress is adorable!
