Will they allow me to wear a red and white polka dot dress?

That is sooo cute! I may also have to change my costume idea! I know it is not okay for adults to dress up in the parks on normal occasions, but for the party nights, adults are allowed to dress up, correct? Can adults not dress up as disney characters? My daughter may be Ariel and I found the cutest Ursula costume online that I was going to buy to coordinate with her.

The only thing that may be an issue is if the costume is so authentic-looking that the guest is mistaken for a cast member.

Thanks. That is what I thought, but some of the replies here made me second guess myself. I don't think anyone would mistake me for the "real" ursula!

In 2006, at MNSSHP, I was told at the gate to "not pose/not sign autographs" because I was dressed as the old hag version of the evil queen in snow white and I do professional makeup, so I was GOOD. I had the nose, the skin, the air, the humpback...cm's said I looked great but they said I could not pose, etc, they even said because it was a character they didn't have at WDW, it was more important for me not to, since people might think I was a rare face characterm(???). My husband was dressed as Walt Disney, on ice...like frozen, with ice crystals, blue skin, etc....and the cm's loved it...but people DID ask me to pose, and some were mad when I said no. It was really bad around Snow White's Scary Adentures but I think your dress is cute and you will have NO problem.

You can dress as anything you want for MNSSHP....and there will be some *very* authentic looking costumes too.
As for the polka dot dress, it's fine of course. I've worn something similar before...they don't care if you dress inspired as a character, since like someone said - you won't be wearing a giant mouse head.

The photo thing shouldn't have even been a problem if you made it clear to people that you were just a guest, not the actual hag (btw, please share photos!). We took lots of photos with guests last year, and we had some CMs stop us for photos too (one chased us through Frontierland actually).

DD bought a pink and white polkadot dress that is similar (hers has straps instead of sleeves) and plans to wear it with her sparkly mouse ear head band, specifically to meet and get pictures with Minnie. I'm not worried about it at all (especially being pink) and I don't think you should be

Like someone else mentioned.. if you put on a giant mouse head there may be problems but until then I think it's ok
