Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Yeay, I am the Indy fan! :goodvibes

And we love you for it. :lovestruc

I :lovestruc gingerbread! I even burn gingerbread scented candles at Christmas.
BORG!

Osbourne Lights are at MGM every night -- they are way cool!
Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I'd love to see them.

I thought of you today, TK. I just found out that the King Tut exhibit is coming to Atlanta in November!
DUDE! Where's my car? No, jk. DUDE! KING TUT!!!! Now, I need to go to Atlanta. Dagnabbit!
Remember in Tomb of the Golden Bird when Carter finds the tomb and Emerson can barely contain himself! I love Egyptian stuff almost as much as I love Disney and Indiana Jones!
It's funny you should mention that because I was just re-reading it. I love, love, love the one before it too, is it the Serpent on the Crown? I cried at the end during the first time I read it, and then my heart just swelled over Daoud. Don't you love Daoud?

You lucky, lucky woman!!!

I am sure you will get used to the idea of not bringing DS. It is always hard leaving a child for the first time!

I am sending you tons of Pixie dust. pixiedust:

Thanks for the dust, I'll need it!!! :goodvibes

I am curious to hear what you think of all the Christmas goings on!

There will be a trip report, scout's honor.:thumbsup2

The Amelia Peabody Series written by Elizabeth Peters

First book is Crocodile on the Sandbank

I highly, highly recommend these. I read them over and over. If you want the full list, in order, PM me. I will try to get it to you tomorrow. They are awesome, romance, Egyptology, adventure, mystery. Perfect combo!:cloud9:

Yes, come to Atlanta and walk like an Egyptian with me to the King Tut exhibit. Dates: November 15 through May 22!

Yes, Serpent in the Crown is the one before (that's the one I have signed by Elizabeth Peters) :goodvibes . I am such a fan that I got more and more excited the closer it got in the series to 1922 when Carter discovered Tut's tomb. Here's one of those quirky connections I am always making: the poem that Emerson recites at the very end is about King Arthur. ;)

Daoud and so many others! They are like family to me (only in a fictional sense).

I can't remember: have you read any of her other stuff? She has a new Vicky Bliss coming out in August -- hurray! Also, she writes under the pen name Barbara Michaels -- those are kind of spooky, supernatural stuff and also very good.

Me too -- it's my favorite series of all-time -- I own all of them -- most in hardcover. They start out in the 1880s and the last one was set in 1922. I think there are 18 in all.

They won't disappoint!

I'm seriously going to have to figure out a way to get down there. I wanted to go when it was in Philly with my sister...ahem...but that never panned out. Thought it would be a fun weekender for us. Ah well.

Wow, signed by her. I think I would go very teenage giggly schoolgirl if I got to meet her. These books have meant so much to me.

You know I never realized that, I'll have to pay closer attention when I reread it.

Yes, I feel like I know them.

I have read a couple, but none of them really peaked my fancy. Perhaps you could recommend a really good one to sway me over?

I was on amazon.com the other day, and I belive there's another coming out this year. If I'm lucky, it'll be right before my vacation. Beach reading anyone?;)

I think it's very important to have a goal in mind. And although I am uber-psyched about my new countdown ticker, it's time to bring the focus back around.

Back to my favorite pirate.

Recently, a thread began and launched a little obsession. I check it daily. I look to see if I can find "my Jack Sparrow." And then, I finally did. You know. The one. Besides DH. :lmao:

So beggin' apologies from the original poster, and if they'd like me to remove it I will, but I pirated this photo right onto my own happy little computer and it's now my wallpaper. So I can stare at it every day. For three months, 2 weeks, and 6 days.

Ahhhh.....:cloud9:

Need I say more?

:lmao: What is the thread exactly, just pictures of all the WDW Jack Sparrows?

Shhh....what the menfolk don't know won't hurt them....:lmao:

DBF was looking over my shoulder today. And he saw the words "food porn" and spent the afternoon trying to write a rather interesting story involving vegtables.... ;)

All my response was: "MEN!!"

Oh, good lord.:lmao:

That is too funny. I actually told DH about food porn, so he was in the know. I wonder what he would have thought otherwise?

Gives a whole new meaning to this guy...

Trust me it took him a while to stop and we looked at some resturant reviews with pictures.

All work and no play makes DBF a dull boy. But work a whole weekend and DBF can be a little punchy... in the funny way....
