It usually coincides with Mousefest, but not this year so I am celebrating late!! Gotta spend my birthday with my boys, Off Kilter. Chuck thinks I go for Mousefest. (Shhhh don't tell.)

Ah well...I see my ouija board predicts many future DIS trips for us both...there's always Free Dining '09!!!I hate we couldn't meet.
Finally if you see something like (NOTK) or (NOGeorgeW) or something like that, it basically means "No Offense" to whomever/whatever follows. Sometimes it's meant seriously, sometimes tongue-in-cheek.

Both mom and I have always wanted to go during the holiday season. When I was in college, we would go in January and catch the tail end of the decorations, usually being taken down. So, we've never seen any of the resorts in their full regalia, and are really, really looking forward to it. I feel so, so lucky. I had originally wanted to go in December this year for DH's birthday, but free dining came out and frugal ole me decided I wanted to go in September. And then upgrade to a deluxe hotel...I see a pattern emerging...Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club...what's next???
Ooooohkay. I think I got it. I'm trying to convince DF to go twice in 2009, so far no dice. I want to go in the fall and december...yes close together but free dining and holiday decorations...makes perfect sense to me!They're not always offered. I had read my mother the riot act about checking her room for an offer while she was there, so she had her instructions. I know that last year, while I was at Disney during free dining in September, there was a bounceback offer in the room to book free dining '08. And I didn't. Silly, silly TK. So I had to wait on pins and needles to see if it was released to the public. Suffice it to say, if there's a bounceback offer in my room this year, we're booking it! Worst case scenario, life happens, and you cancel and get your $200 deposit back.
The only advice I can give to you is check your room for a brochure, watch the in-room tv, sometimes its on one of the channels, and if that fails, simply ask at the front desk/concierge. Someone will surely know.

I know DH and DS will be fine. I'm sure they'll have all sorts of fun, emitting various loud bodily functions, laughing, eating junk, and running around like wild men. Ah, the testosterone.Too cool! I would love to go when they have all the Christmans decorations up. And I agree with LL--DH will take excellent care of DS! And you do have several months to get used to the idea.

When I first read your post, I thought, wow maybe I could convince DF of a long weekend in December and then I started plotting how I could get the day off from work since I have no vaca time left, then I was planning which resort, the dates, I made a mental note to ask you whenyou are going and then....reality set in.

Actually, my PTO was going a little haywire but....I actually gave them back two of my originally planned vacation days. Which means that I'm going to have extra. Which can only carry over until April of next year...now if you were my supervisor, wouldn't you just let me take off one eensy weensy little Saturday?Neither do I. I think if I started it now, DH would kill me. And truthfully, although I love you all, I don't think I have the energy to keep up two pre-trippies and faithfully comment on all my subscribed stuff. Best to wait until after I get back from my Sept. trip, I think.

I am so excited for you. I am also excited for me....because....I can't wait to hear your detailed descriptions and lots of pictures. Did you catch that, detailed descriptions and lots of pictures? Why? Because I am going to use your Girls Weekend trip report to convince DF for two trips next year. He will not be able to pass up the wonderfulness of free dining (Fingers Crossed) for Fall 2009 and then he won't be able to resist the wonderful holiday atmosphere once I overload him so much on pictures and descriptions, calling him into the room where our computer is and giving him the puppy dog eyes UNTIL he agrees to both trips. Pure brilliance, LL. Pure brilliance. I wish they had an evil laughter face.Argh...decisions, decisions...we'll have to let Tink weigh in on this one with her sage wisdom.

I told DH, it is okay, because we're all going as a family in September. I would never, ever go without him if we weren't doing the family trip.
So she and I got to talking and possibly planning. We're both really, really excited to see the decorations. I think we have also tentatively planned our days.
A Pirate's Life for 3 = no itinerary but ADRs, go with the flow, fly by the seat of your pants, a pirate's life for me, yo ho, yo ho

Oh, girlfriend, I am all about the multitude of photos and detailed descriptions. I don't care if it's only a three day trip, mom and I are splitting the pre-purchase of the photopass CD. Totally worth it in my opinion. I want to meet characters dressed for the holidays and see the resorts decorated and take hundreds upon hundreds of pictures. I told my mother if I only get on a handful of rides I'll be happy. To which she politely objected...she does like her rides, too.
Woo Hoo! I can't wait. As soon as I read your post earlier, I told DF, "TK is going on a weekend trip in December." Yep, in the LL household, DF knows the DIS'ers.
Oddly, enough he knows who Tink is without my even having to clarify. Perhaps it's because we're so BORG.

I am totally, totally buying Gingerbread, and definitely bringing some home to my men. They will go nuts for it. I love Gingerbread, I made cookies last year for co-workers. I made so many batches of gingerbread, my apartment smelled great!!!

gingerbread! I even burn gingerbread scented candles at Christmas. Remember in Tomb of the Golden Bird when Carter finds the tomb and Emerson can barely contain himself! I love Egyptian stuff almost as much as I love Disney and Indiana Jones!
