Will MS do this for me? swap points on existing res?

I have a reservation for HHI -it was made after the 7 month window with SSR points. I may be buying more points that expire sooner than the ones I made this reservation with. Once I have all the points will MS let me change which points I am using for the existing reservation?

They may or may not. Technically it would be a cancellation and rebooking but it simply depends on the whim of the person you get when you call.

If you had made the reservation using the 11-month window, then you definitely would not be allowed to swap. But since you did not use home resort priority it is different.

Assuming your new points would be an add-on to your existing contract (not a resale or new purchase having a different use year month), then you are not breaking any booking rules by swapping points so they should allow it.

Just out of curiousity, if you're not using your home resort booking window, why would it matter if the contract was an add-on versus a new contract with a different UY? Also, would this apply if you already own the points? For example, I own VB points with a Dec UY and SSR with an Aug UY. If I booked BWV at 7 months with my VB points and decided to change to my SSR points, would that matter?

A different use year is another completely separate membership.

An add-on is re-arranging points within the same membership.

An existing reservation can not be transferred from one membership number to another.

If there are developer points anywhere in the mix, they will need to cancel and re-book. Otherwise, re-allocating points is usually no problem.
