Marathon Weekend 2026

I will be holding a white sign “today you will finish a marathon”, wearing a purple Dopey shirt

planning to be at starting line, then main st, HS, and Epcot

Good luck to everyone running tomorrow, hope that you have the health, energy and joy to find your pace, to get all the miles in and to celebrate life at the finish line!! Putting yourself out is an achievement worth celebrating!!

👏👏❤️

Yes, but it was very odd to run thru the castle to a BeeGees ballad!
Ugh for some reason this is my hill… I put it in the survey last year. I can run any race in the world and hear *any* music… please please please at least when I’m in the parks just play some Disney 😭

Last year or the year before my castle song was the wallflowers and it.just.didn’t.fit.

Well today I did what doctor flexerol and naproxen told me to do.

This is true. I also find that when in doubt I should just pour sugar with caffeine on it and it all magically goes away.
i wish i had those doctors...bottom of the feet hurt so hopefully tomorrow they calm down so i get through at least the first half before the pain digs in.

In my room with curtains closed so I can forget that it is still daylight out. Goal is 6:00 bedtime if possible but probably 7 is more realistic. So 6 hours of sleep minimum. Everything is laid out and ready to go. No flat me to post but planning on a red long sleeve and black leggings with a black baseball hat (maybe white). Doesn’t look like I need any throw away layers but I’ll keep a Mylar in my pocket just in case for the corrals.

I’m starting in F so I will probably miss the meet up and head straight to the corral after dropping off my gear bag to get a front spot. If you want to meet up in the corral message me and we can meet up

It was great meeting everyone at the HH meet up. Hope to see you all out there and have a great race.

No. Left out of the hotel, right on World Drive, right into Epcot. Takes about 10 minutes, maybe a little more on Sunday.
Awesome! Any concerns about the way back? Any road closures that direction? We always walk to Epcot so this is a huge factor in our lack of ability to figure this out. We never drive to Epcot! 😂 I think he’s planning on trying to make it to MK, then back to hotel, and back again to finish.

Have a question and looking for
feedback. We ran out of F today, tried to get into the corral early to place ourselves at the front of it, we managed to get into the top third of it. I am in no way fast but mostly run out of C and have a C bib based on my last POT. It was absolutely congested for the first mile and a half and then the GF/Poly area was a total nightmare. I think that it was the worst congestion I have experienced in a runDisney race. And in this area I planted my left foot and slid a bit, stressed my hip and also left my foot/ankle very sore! I can walk on it but I am favoring it abit. I am intending to give it a try tomorrow but expect I am going to be very slow! I do have a C bib, is it not cool to let the other two go out of F and start in C? They are both faster than me and would catch me further in the race I am sure. That would place us all further along. But is that sucky to leave them like that? I am a little worried that I might need a bit of the buffer that C would give me before the sun and heat melt me (last few miles of the half today were hotter than I was hoping) and there would still be a lot of running for me tomorrow at that time? It will be their first marathons, is that a jerk move on my part?

Not jerky. You’re buying yourself time! Get those extra miles in the dark! Especially if you are concerned you may be slower due to injury. They will likely catch you with youth on their side and all……..

Have you asked them what they think about that strategy or how they feel about starting without you? I’m sure they want what’s best for you, too. Good luck.

Have you discussed it with your folks? Being up front about the situation and letting them weigh in on it rather than deciding for them might be the way to go.

I'd also suggest looking at the flip side of the situation, too. If you're already "taking one for the team" by dropping back to start with them, they're likely going to feel pressured to stick with you if you're slowed by your injury. Do you want them to feel obligated to put their first marathons at risk that way? Or maybe have their first marathons impacted that way might be a better way to put it.

I'd suggest that all three of you have the best chance for optimal outcomes by splitting up, whether you meet up on the course later or not. Good luck tomorrow, regardless of which path you take!

Not a jerk move at all as long as you discuss it with them first. Your rationale is sound, but like @camaker said, you should talk it through with them tonight. Don’t spring this on them in the morning. They’ll be anxious enough as it is.
