I know that often a discount comes out for the cardholders first and then the general public. Does anyone think this might happen for the free dining around the holidays? We are not cardholders but I would love to go during this time.

Im keeping my fingers crossed for free dining - we arrive in 2 weeks, and we dont have a disney visa, havent gotten a PIN or an email or a postcard - NOTHING!! Come on - release the code to the public - please????????????

I'm right there with you guys. I keep checking every hour or so to see if there has been one released. I have called WDW at least once a day to ask if they know if one will be coming. They have told me everything from "we don't know until the last minute" to "yes, check back in a few days" and of course, "just apply for the Disney Visa".
We are going to be at POFQ 12/14-12/20. It will be cruel to be there knowing others are eating for free!!!

Usually the GP discount comes out a few days later, if there is one. Considering the Visa discount came out last Thursday, I'd say the chances of us getting a GP code are slim...especially since the resorts were already pretty full before the Visa code came out.

maybe it is on its way. I was just trying to check some dates (2:52 am edt) and then system is performing maintenance and the book by date for the fall packages is 09-24 so maybe after that one is over there will be a general code - sending pixie dust to all.

:wizard:

No, their system was working fine at 6am and no updated codes. There have been several "down" periods for the website lately...they are probably doing updates for the new ADR system.

I'm hoping that FD for GP comes out after the fall discount promo ends on 9/24...so here's hoping for pixiedust: on Thursday!

It appears the codes do generally come out on Thursdays, from what I've read on the DIS...

subscribing with fingers crossed.

Does anyone know how many nights you have to stay to take advantage of free dinning?? 3, 4, 5...?

Subscribing, Just booked 12/14 thru 12/19 on the fall code, Hoping for Free Dinning, We LOVE to eat!!

I too am hoping....might even look into getting instantly approved. Already booked for 11/13-11/18 at the Poly....but would love free dining-who wouldn't!!!!:)

If you really want the Poly, you might want to get the card and book it. If a GP offer comrd out who knows if it will be available.

Okay, Disney released the free dining visa to help fill gaps in availability. Seeing as a lot of people are reporting theres not even rooms available with the free dine anyway I dont see disney releasing GP free dine.

Here's my story:
We are planning a trip for December 16-22 at Pop Century. We booked back in August with a 40% off pin code I got in my email. We were super happy and excited to get such a great rate.
Then.........we heard about everyone getting free dining and wanted that instead. Easier said then done.
First of all, it is me, dh, mother, our 6 kids plus my sister in law and her two kids. 12 in all with 3 rooms. Parkhopper tickets, standard room.

Our original price with 40% off
Room 1 1422.00
Room 2 1100.35
Room 3 863.18

Our new price with free dining:
Room 1 1645.80
Room 2 1405.45
Room 3 1081.18

I originally got prices online for Room 1 with the 40% discount and paid dining for $2165 so we are saving $500 on Room 1 alone.

Anyway, so my sister-in-law was determined to get me free dining since I was the one who has been planning everything and I am such a huge Disney fan. My husband and I called twice to see if there were pin codes under our names and there were not. We tried applying for the Disney Visa but were not instantly approved. She called at least twice a day, every day for the last two weeks. Apparently, Disney does keep a log of how many times a person calls whether it is just for information or to make changes, etc. She called three times yesterday and twice today. The last time she called today she asked to speak with a supervisor. She told the supervisor she loves Disney and is really excited about her upcoming trip. That being said, she will have a hard time spending her money on dining when we know people around us will be eating for free. She asked how she could get free dining and wanted to know why Disney couldn't just give it to us for being such loyal customers. "It's not like I am asking for special treatment, just the same treatment that others received." The supervisor kept putting her on hold and asked her the names of the other adults in the party twice.
Magically - a pin code was found in my husband's name. Now, my husband called yesterday and there was nothing. There was nothing in his email box or spam box or anything. It really appeared that this supervisor had the power to help us out. No guarantees for anyone - but persistence may just pay off!

interesting there's still availability in mods for xmas week (with FD) but nothing on values...

I have a rez now and might cancel/switch my nov one to this...

I am sincerely happy for you [I'm not even interested in that timeframe] . . but I don't know if it was very wise to post this. It will only cause some people to be extremely upset that they were not able to get the offer . . . but you did - just because you really, really love Disney. :confused3

I was able to change from a pin code to the free dining at the WL for Dec.19-26. I saved even more than with the fall pin code. So yes, I was able to change to the free dining during Christmas. Good Luck to all!
