Here's my story:
We are planning a trip for December 16-22 at Pop Century. We booked back in August with a 40% off pin code I got in my email. We were super happy and excited to get such a great rate.
Then.........we heard about everyone getting
free dining and wanted that instead. Easier said then done.
First of all, it is me, dh, mother, our 6 kids plus my sister in law and her two kids. 12 in all with 3 rooms. Parkhopper tickets, standard room.
Our original price with 40% off
Room 1 1422.00
Room 2 1100.35
Room 3 863.18
Our new price with free dining:
Room 1 1645.80
Room 2 1405.45
Room 3 1081.18
I originally got prices online for Room 1 with the 40% discount and paid dining for $2165 so we are saving $500 on Room 1 alone.
Anyway, so my sister-in-law was determined to get me free dining since I was the one who has been planning everything and I am such a huge Disney fan. My husband and I called twice to see if there were pin codes under our names and there were not. We tried applying for the Disney Visa but were not instantly approved. She called at least twice a day, every day for the last two weeks. Apparently, Disney does keep a log of how many times a person calls whether it is just for information or to make changes, etc. She called three times yesterday and twice today. The last time she called today she asked to speak with a supervisor. She told the supervisor she loves Disney and is really excited about her upcoming trip. That being said, she will have a hard time spending her money on dining when we know people around us will be eating for free. She asked how she could get free dining and wanted to know why Disney couldn't just give it to us for being such loyal customers. "It's not like I am asking for special treatment, just the same treatment that others received." The supervisor kept putting her on hold and asked her the names of the other adults in the party twice.
Magically - a pin code was found in my husband's name. Now, my husband called yesterday and there was nothing. There was nothing in his email box or spam box or anything. It really appeared that this supervisor had the power to help us out. No guarantees for anyone - but persistence may just pay off!
