WOW you girls hit a lot of sights!!

We did. We actually spent more time walking then on the trolley. Everything was fairly close and I think if you like to walk you probably don't need the trolley.

I have always wanted to try Fried Green Tomatoes, especially because I LOVE the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. The soups look awesome, although being from Maryland, the crab cake doesn't look so Maryland style to me! Looks like a GREAT lunch spot though!

I have tried them before, but its been a long time! They are really good. I'm not sure what to compare them to, but they have a nice, solid texture. I like that.

Yeah - that crab cake does not look like some of the really goods one I have had in Md., that's for sure. When you live near the Chesapeake Bay its kind-off hard to find a better crab cake elsewhere.

Wow! Your pictures of Savannah are amazing! it looks beautiful! I especially love the cathedral!!!

It is very different from any city I have ever been in. It's definitely got an easy, breezy feel. Laid back, relaxed, and full of life.

The cathedral was gorgeous. Just stunning! So rich in detail.

Another wonderful day - this time in Savannah.
Booze in the streets - unless it is Bourbon street. That place was so narrow that you could not help bumping into "things" and such.

It was a wonderful day. When I go back to HHI I will definitely go back to Savannah. And now I know how to walk to the Riverfront, so I really don't even need the trolley.

The "to go" cups IS a big plus!

I guess my closet claustrophobia was getting to me, because I felt the Mardi Gras would be nuts.

I have never been to New Orleans, but would certainly love to visit it. I, too, think Mardi Gras would be absolutely insane. I am certain I am much to "old" for that.

I hear Savannah has a "rep" for St Patricks Day.

I completely forgot about that, but you're right. The St Patties day parade in Savannah is second only to the one in NYC. I bet its a fun one and the weather is probably much better than in NYC!

I guess we where there for about 7 hours and we really got a good flavor for the city and its sights. Still, I am sure we only scratched the surface so I would really like to go back, especially after I am done reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

You should definitely take a side trip to Savannah. It's so close. Just remember to shop around for the best trolley fair, like we didint. Also, notice, we mostly walked. We didn't even really need the trolley. Everything is pretty close.

The cathedral was stunning. All the recent renovations were so well down and so authentic. WOW. I love old churches.

It was a great day! Even without the alcohol "to go". Seriously, I really enjoyed Savannah and will definitely return when Denny and I go back to HHI. There's more I want to see.

I did enjoy the tour even though I was afraid of getting kicked out for misconduct. The house was gorgeous. It would have been great to have a picture or two, but oh well.

Surprisingly, I have not. Actually I am trying really hard to be cheerful today, but Charles said it is coming off as borderline hysterical. Since the alternative is staying in bed all day, I am going to try and just get through everything.

Great pictures of Savannah -- you really captured the charm of it. I was cracking up over your snooty tour guide -- she would have made me a nervous wreck -- and you trying to capture some light orbs at the Brewing Company.

Chelsea and I recently read a book set in Savannah called The Magnolia League that talked about that haint blue. Chelsea now wants to paint her room in that color. She is easily influenced by things she sees and reads -- don't know where she could get that from.

I wanted an Orb so bad. I didn't expect a bottle to come flying off the shelf, just some soft glowing light would have been nice. But I guess the spirits thought I was too anxious!

The architecture was so cool and that cathedral was gorgeous. I was told that the organ gets played once a weekend. I bet it sounds wonderful. I am glad they convinced me that I could wait another hour to eat. It was worth it.

That's exactly what it is - a wand of power. You are paying good money to see the surroundings, but you feel like an uninvited guest.

I'm glad I decided to wrap up Savannah, too. Next are the December plans, then Resort day 2 and Charleston. I'd love to get the HHI TR done before we leave for Disney. We'll see.

If you drive to Disney you must stop in either Charleston or Savannah. You will love both of them and yet they are so different. After our uneventful drive to HHI I am actually considering driving to Florida this summer. Notice I said: considering. Clearly if flights drop in price I will be flying, but if they stay high - you never know.

That's exactly what that guide did - she just sucked the fun right out of it. But the rest of the day more than made up for it. Plus, we did a ton of walking (like a Disney park trip), so that helped with all the extra calories. What a fun place that would be for a girl's weekend.

I read that book too...ages ago but I still recognized the statue when you posted the picture! My brain really does retain some things.... I remember the movie being good too....with John Cusack I believe. I have so many movies in my queue..waiting for a cold winter day.

So maybe your tour guide was a relative of our pita trek mate in Africa last May? Yeesh....I couldn't have dealt with all of her yapping and rules but after having already paid I guess there is not much you can do.

Gas here right now is around $3.59....although I have to have premium for my car so that is around the $3.85 mark....I just pump and don't pay attention to the price The worst was a few years ago when premium was over $5....I don't think I ever let it get below a half tank so I could mentally prepare myself for paying
