"If you go poopy on the potty Mommy will give you some M&Ms." She just shook her head no at me. I didn't even have M&Ms but, with the way she was acting I didn't think she would go. So then I see her straining a bit and Voila! She did it. I get her all cleaned up and praise her for going on the potty. She goes back into her room and I go back to watch BB8. She then came in and said, "Mommy, I want my M&Ms." Uh-oh! I told her tomorrow we would get her some M&Ms but she wanted them now. Quick. I had to think fast. I could send Rob down to the gas station to pick some up but I called my Mom (who lives next door) and asked her if she had any. YIPPPEE! She did. So I grabbed the bag from her and gave Brookie 10 M&Ms. So, I've learned that I better not offer something if I don't have it!

This is too funny! :lmao:

My parents used to bribe me to do things when I was little as well. On one of our moves across the country we were staying at a hotel with a really big water slide. I was too chicken to go down it though. I guess my dad really wanted me to go on the slide though b/c he bribed me with one of those in-room movies you can order on the hotel tv.

Another time we were visiting friends in Rhode Island for Easter and I got really sick and the only meds this family had were pills. Well I was deathly afraid of swallowing pills. I just couldn't do it. Well my parents couldn't get me any liquid medication b/c everything was closed due to the holiday. They were so desperate to get me to take the meds that they bribed me with $50. :rotfl: Well after an hour of crying and chocking on the pills I finally got them down and got my $50:thumbsup2

Rob & I dropped the kids off at his parents' home but they weren't there. His sister and her fiance watched the kids there because there is a very pool for them. So, Brookie is used to having on me or my parents watch her. When we got ready to leave she started crying and saying, "Don't leave me here. Don't leave me pleeeeeeeeeze." Rob picked her up and carried her out on the porch and we sat there with her telling her she would have fun and we would be back soon. Kathy (Rob's sis) came out with an Ariel bubble blower and was entertaining Brookie. Brookie finally eased up and Rob & I were out the door.

There was good food at the clam bake. I had a salad, some mussels, salt potatoes, and, of course, clams! We went back up a couple of times for more clams. Plus they had an enclosed gazebo that had a dessert station there. I made an ice cream sundae with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and caramel. It was so yummy!

When we walked into the clam bake Rob & I were each given 2 free raffle tickets. A bunch of sponsors had donated gifts to the fire department. There were 2 rounds of raffles. The first raffle I was sitting anxiously at the table. There were a lot of yearly subscriptions to Eagle newspapers, which is basically a local newspaper. Big whoop! Guess what I won? Yup! A lovely subscription to the newspaper. Oh I jumped for joy.

So, since we were done eating I told Rob that we would leave. But then I found out there was going to be a 2nd round of raffles. Well, I most certainly had to wait for that. There were some very nice items on the 2nd round. There was a remote car starter, bottles of wine, an hour massage, tickets to the Adirondack railroad, and more yearly subscriptions to the Eagle newspapers. I got my last ticket and eyeballed it throughout the number calling. When the hour massage raffle came up everyone hooted and hollered. He read the numbers and I had the winning ticket! I really did jump up and yell!

So, that's was it. I am happy....day done.

You'd better get a supply of M&M's in :rotfl:
I have the rest of the bag of M&Ms! ;) I'm glad I'm not an M&M lover or they'd be gone.

:woohoo: for the poopy!!!!
:dance3:

What a spoiled kid you were! :lmao: I can't believe you made out with $50. Way to go sista! My Mom used to put crushed up pills in juice for us to swallow. Now why didn't they think of that?

:woohoo: for the ma-sage! (I don't like 'em cuz I hate it when people touch me ;))

Monday, June 25....Port Orleans Riverside
Hopping the bus to the Animal Kingdom

Hopes:
1. More PhotoPass pictures taken...
2. A good DIS meet with Laura
3. No blisters on my feet...today was my Crocs Athens day again
4. A meeting with the Dream Team

Wants:
1. A good breakfast at Donald’s Breakfastosaurus
2. Ride Expedition Everest with Laura as park opening
3. Ride Dinosaur
4. Have a good rest at the resort in the afternoon
5. Return to Animal Kingdom in the evening for EMH

The morning starts out very early. I mean early folks. I am just not used to waking up at that time - or probably any time earlier than 8:30 am. So, I dragged myself out of bed and started to get ready while the rest of the clan slept. Then Rob took his turn. Since we were to have breakfast at Donald’s Breakfastosaurus I let the kids sleep in as late as possible with enough time to get them to hit the potty, get dressed, and get to the bus stop. Waking them up was so much fun...

Finally after dragging the kiddos out of bed we were off to the bus stop. I wanted to wear my Crocs Capris again today to better match my outfit but I noticed that the balls of my feet were hurting somewhat. The Capris do not have much of a cushiony feel on the bottom. So, I thought it best to wear my Athens.

At the bus stop, was I the only one that was revving to go? Tell me what you think. Here’s Rob holding Brooke...

...and the ever so perky Alec.
P1000751.jpg

Well, at least Evan seemed ready to go!
P1000753.jpg

After I took the picture of Evan I realized that my lens was all fogged up from the early morning humidity. So, I took out my professional lens cleaner. Er, I mean I wiped the lens on my shirt and all was good to go! We had gotten to the bus stop at about 7:10 am and while we were waiting I looked over at Port Orleans Riverside’s main building and thought it was time for some more photo ops. Except Evan had to get in the picture.
P1000754.jpg

After I took his picture I took a couple more of the building by itself.
P1000755.jpg

And if any of you are smokers there is a DSA in the front of the main building to the left out in the bright sunlight or downpour of rain, depending on weather. Since we are nonsmokers here, I didn’t really care but I just thought I’d add that.
P1000756.jpg

Now, I can’t remember if it was Evan or Alec who wanted to take a picture of me & Brookie but I let them. I thought it came out pretty well. Plus you can all admire my pearl/orange Crocs Athens...
P1000757.jpg

Oh, and Goofyluver, you may notice that we are sitting at the covered bus stop in nice benches. Yup, we’re rich, aren’t we? Not like those poor folks over at the value resorts who have to stand to wait for the busses. This is a joke and for anyone who does not get it, then you are not reading the famous dual TR by Goofyluver and Meeskamouska.

Time for one more picture of my 3 little darlings. Notice also that Evan & Alec are wearing their Pirates medallions. That $20 is not seeming so bad now...

And the last picture before the bus arrived. I had fun with this one on my Disney Pix program and added my own Tinkerbell...

The bus arrived at about 7:25 am and off we were to the Animal Kingdom to meet up with another DISer Laura (Crazy Kanga) and her family for breakfast at Donald's!

Next installment...June 25...Animal Kingdom...Donald's Breakfastosaurus & DIS Meet

I was a very spoiled child. In fact I still am spoiled.:thumbsup2 What can I say my parents love me the most:cutie:

Your kids are so cute. That video of them waking up is so sweet! It makes me wish for kids of my own so that I could witness moments like that.

Do you miss the potty training days TE? :scared:

No.
But I have funny memories about BA wanting to use each and every potty in the MK when she was barely 2........then coming home and putting the pull-ups back on!:sad2:
(My MIL continually told me how early her children potty-trained-----then when she had to train my niece (now 4)--she said "oh, you shouldn't rush them--they'll do it when THEY"RE ready--which was almost 4)

Oh lord--I was trying to find a pic of M & M candies on photobucket for Brooke--and I found a cartoon of the 2 M& M characters--only it said S & M..........:scared1:

(are you back from photobucket yet??):rotfl2:

Ok--I have found a Canadian and need to ask a question (since we have verified that DM is NOT half-Canadian!)...

Why do Canadians have to answer a math question in order to win a YOMD prize???

And what Disney Pix program??? I want to do that with my photos! Tell me how pleeeeease!

There is some sort of law up here that makes it illegal to win something in a contest that is not merit based so to make sweepstakes/contest winnings legal you have to answer a simple math question unassisted and within a time limit. It is pretty silly as you have to do this no matter how small the prize. For instance when McDonalds does their Monopoly contest. If you win a free pop you have to answer a math question:rolleyes:

I won a YOAMD lanyard and pin set and did not have to answer a question but then again they were not stopping us to ask if we were Canadian. I assume you have to answer the question for bigger prizes like Cinderella castle because the law still applies to us when we are out of the country due to customs/tax issues? That is the best explanation I can come up with.

Oh.....ok.....that makes sense.....I guess!

That would never work in America--it would hold up the drive-thru line at McD too much as people were puzzling over the right answer!

(and I'll tell my daughter--she read the rule in City Hall at MK and thought that they were discriminating against Canadians)

Your kids are too cute. Mine are very grouchy when I wake them, so you are lucky. your crocs athens are white on the top and you hardly notice the orange so they match fine ;) . I wore mine almost everyday last fall.

Great job getting Brooke to poop on the potty! I can't believe M&M"S worked for you. Thomas does the same thing when we try to barge into his room when he is going, he needs privacy  . I even offered to buy him a McQueen TV and he still said no :rolleyes1 . I had to buy DD a Princess castle from Disney store to get her to poop on the potty but at least it worked. You got off easy with the M&M"S :goodvibes .

Waiting to hear the rest of your AK day and your character breakfast.

:rotfl: They make you go inside to claim your "prize" as they need to witness you answering the question. Needless to say most of the small prizes that are won don't get claimed as it is a hassle.

Nope, not discriminating. The Canadian law makers just like to make our lives more difficult:laughing: I feel sorry for the people who live in Quebec. They never get to win anything. Whenever I read the rules for who can enter contests it always says open to all US and Canadian residents except for those residing in Quebec. Perhaps that is their punishment for trying to separate from the country so many times:rotfl:
