Awesome work Brooke! You too, DM! ;) I did something similar, well, DH did. He scolded Maddie for wetting her big girl panties and out of shock, she never did it again. :confused3 Now Evan is a whole other story. He could care less if we scold him and that kid cannot be bribed! :lmao:

Have fun today!! :cool1:

Rob & I are attending a clambake today for his fire department and that starts at 1 pm. So, I need to get myself ready and the kiddos packed up. My sis-in-law and her fiance are watching them this afternoon so I need to pack up some extras for them. Here's a link to where we are going today: Spinning Wheel

I have some good news to share with any of you parents out there. Brookie, who just turned 3 on July 8, has been wearing big girl underwear for 4 days now and has had no accidents at all! Want to hear how it started? I'm going to get ready for the flames...

No flames - it worked, right? Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! It's a big day! I thought my DD would NEVER get out of diapers - luckily she did and even gave up the "hot bot" too and is now headed off to college - amazing. NOw, if I could get my puppy to do the same thing (I even resorted to diapers once not long after we first got her - that didn't work out real well. Luckily, she's much better now).

Wow, the Clambake sounds like fun! Will you give us a mini report when you get back??

Hope you had a great time at the clambake. the place looks really nice. Congrats to Brookie on her potty capabilities. Not a parent but a god parent and an uncle and soon to be a great uncle? is that a term. Oh well hope you had a nice time today.

I had a diaper burning party after my youngest was potty trained! Ok, so I really didn't but I wanted to! All my kids were @ 3 when they finally crossed over to the big boy/girl undie side. So that gives me 12 of my 15 years of marriage that I was changing diapers!

No flames...I bought my child's potty training. Literally...I paid him with money, toys, all kindsa crap. That's right...I'm not above bribery...

No flames here either. I did this with DD when she potty trained. My DS will not be bribed and refuses to use the potty :headache: , I don't know want to try next :scratchin. He just turned 3 last month also and wants nothing to do with the potty at all. He says no if you even try to talk him into. He actually gags when you change his diaper  . I'm guessing girls are just easier to potty train :confused3 I guess. Way to go Brooke!

After Potty-traing Tyler @ 2yrs old. I was spoiled. Then along came Braeton, I finallly resigned myself he'd be in diapers for EVAH! And then he went to PPCD (pre-school program for children with Disabilities for those of you that are wondering). He was 3 when he started, by the end of the year he was wearing underwear w/ 1-3 accidents a week. NEVER at night unless he was sick, or had had surgery or a major treatment! He is 5 now and only has an accident when his muscles and joints are having a rough day.
The secret was the teachers kept a pack of mini- M&MS in the Bathroom. When a child would use the potty, they got 1 M&M for Tee-tee and 5M&MS for poop. We backed this up at home. Within 3 weeks he was sitting on the potty all the time even when he didn't have to go!!! And this was a child woho couldn't stand or walk at the time. I BE-LIEVE in BRI-BER-Y...

Wow! Thanks all for your kind comments. I will respond to you all individually probably either late tonite or tomorrow but first I wanted to post a link to a new thread that I created on the Community Board. Please check it out and join in if you like it!

Gone for 11 days, 30 something pages behind, and still #12 at the time. Woohoo! :cool1: Hi, DM, finally caught up!

Just have to say how much I love those teenage DM pictures!

Me, too. Cool... :cool2:

Well, you gotta a lot of DIS time to make up!!
(Did you find yourself thinking "hey, that would be a funny thing to post".....or "I'll snap that picture to post online...")

I do that a lot......it doesn't mean anything......I'm pretty sure....

Witness my photo of the "Caravan Stage" for Jo... Everyone looking at my photos at home says, "What's this?" but y'all know... ;)

I think I'm finally nearly caught up it's only taken me about 5 hours

No joke! This TR moves.

Nice about tax-free week. We have that coming up right before school starts in September.

MA is about to have their tax-free weekend. NH has no sales tax, ever, so our governor always runs ads, "MA, 2 tax-free days; NH, 365." ;) I may head to Ikea in MA next weekend, though, as we don't have one here, so...

No flames...I bought my child's potty training. Literally...I paid him with money, toys, all kindsa crap. That's right...I'm not above bribery...

Me, neither. One basically wanted the undies and trained himself, but the other had to be bribed.

I hope it's not tooooo late to join the party! I just found your thread today! This has been such a good read, that I don't even want to attempt to write another trip report this year!

Now I have to go back and look at all the chit-chat that I missed out on!

See ya!

Ha! I'll have to tell you what I did last night. I think I need a post of it's own for that one...

I think that's great! Congrats to Brooke for keeping dry! :goodvibes
Yup! Dry again through all yesterday and last night!

No flmaes here. We are doing that with Jimmy now. He gets 1 coin for peeing and 2 coins for pooping (no pun intended:laughing: ) We have told him with all of the coins we are going to get Disney Dollars so he can get a surprise at Walt Disney World. He is pretty good at being dry. He will NOT poop on the potty so we will still be in pull-up in 8 days at WDW:sad2:
It's a start! Back in 2003 Evan was pee potty trained for Disney but not poop. We almost didn't make our Illuminations cruise because he was uhm...busy...in his pullup.

That's what happened with Evan. I am not proud of what happened with him because he was 4½ and not poop trained and one day I broke down and yelled almost to the point of screaming at him. :sad1: I put him immediately on the potty and he went and from that day on he never ever had an accident or went in his pants.

I'm happy to say that my kids will all be potty trained and I'll be done finally with all that business!!!!!

Well done Brookie :thumbsup2 think of all the money that will save, straight in the WDW fund :rotfl2: Hope you're having fun at the clambake :goodvibes
Good thinking about saving that money but knowing me, it's been spent since last year! :lmao:

12 years of changing diapers!? I'm on my 8th year and this is it!!! :woohoo:

Yay Brookie!

Such a big girl!
Someday you can look forward to all of this glory!

Brooke was definitely easier to potty train that my boys. Evan was 4½. Alec was 3½ when he was totally potty trained. He was easier than Evan. I would have thought Brooke would have been potty trained earlier tho as she is very independent. I guess just independent in her own pants! :upsidedow

That sounds like a huge challenge. Evan being a preemie and extremely shy we just never liked to push him too much to do things. He was the baby who was constipated so he literally had to run around just to push it out. Finally, things got better and when he was finally trained, he was very regular thank goodness! I have a story about the M&M's but I'm going to make that a post of it's own.

Way to go Brooke and mom:cool1:
Have fun at the clambake.
Thank you and we did!

I agree. You do what works, more power to you. :flower3:

Yeah for Brooke :cheer2: too.
Yee-haw! :dance3:

;)
Do you miss the potty training days TE? :scared:

Me, neither. One basically wanted the undies and trained himself, but the other had to be bribed.
Just wait for my post about that!

Brooke still had not gone poop on the potty or in her pants in 4 days. Last night we put the pullup on her before bed. She usually watches some TV in her room before actual bedtime. I went to check on her and when I started to open the door she slammed in on me. I immediately said, "Let me in," which she did and said, "No. Don't look at me." That is her way of telling me that she is pooping. I grabbed her and took her to the potty. She had not pooped at all yet. She started crying on me and I was being very calm and reasonable, telling her that it's okay. She was still crying and I said to her, "If you go poopy on the potty Mommy will give you some M&Ms." She just shook her head no at me. I didn't even have M&Ms but, with the way she was acting I didn't think she would go. So then I see her straining a bit and Voila! She did it. I get her all cleaned up and praise her for going on the potty. She goes back into her room and I go back to watch BB8. She then came in and said, "Mommy, I want my M&Ms." Uh-oh! I told her tomorrow we would get her some M&Ms but she wanted them now. Quick. I had to think fast. I could send Rob down to the gas station to pick some up but I called my Mom (who lives next door) and asked her if she had any. YIPPPEE! She did. So I grabbed the bag from her and gave Brookie 10 M&Ms. So, I've learned that I better not offer something if I don't have it!

Wow, the Clambake sounds like fun! Will you give us a mini report when you get back??
It was fun and I'll post a short reply on it's own.

:thumbsup2 Cool. My DH is a Captain/Paramedic :firefight too!

:cheer2: WooHoo Brooke!
The volunteer :firefight bugs me sometimes because there is so much commitment. Not that it's wrong or anything but Rob works long hours at work and it's a pain when he gets a call at certain times. Dinner time is a no-no for a call in our home now unless it's a signal 99.
Hope you had a great time at the clambake. the place looks really nice. Congrats to Brookie on her potty capabilities. Not a parent but a god parent and an uncle and soon to be a great uncle? is that a term. Oh well hope you had a nice time today.

So can that attach to your lanyard?
Yes! You can attach either piece to your lanyard. I actually took off the Mickey head piece and just put the plastic card holder on the Focker Watch lanyard clip. However, you could clip the Mickey head onto the lanyard if you wanted to.

:rotfl2:
Our tax rate is 8% here. However, the state got rid of the clothing tax for items under $100. Our county tax for clothes is then 4% so sometimes they have county tax-free weeks.

Cool new thread DM, you'll have to teach me how to edit though :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:
It's so easy to add the clip arts to your pictures and it's fun!

I hope it's not tooooo late to join the party! I just found your thread today! This has been such a good read, that I don't even want to attempt to write another trip report this year!

It is definitely never too late to join here! I have only completed day 2 in my TR and have 6 more days to go. So, we'll be here for at least a couple more months! I hope you enjoy it!!!
