I don't normally book massages on cruise ships because of the markup compared to on land, but I always end up booking one once on board, so may as well book before boarding.

When looking to book, I see a message to allocate 1 h 15 min for the 50 min massages (an extra 25 in), but 1 h 30 min for the 75 min massage (an extra 15 min). I assume the extra time in general for is for them to ask health related questions, and try to sell you products. But why is the extra time allocated when booking the 50 min massage vs when booking a 75 min massage?

Massage therapist here. I’m assuming it’s purely for booking purposes. Maybe their booking software only allows appointments to be booked in 15 minute increments. So if you booked a 10am 50 minute that would make the next book able appointment at 11:15. But if you booked a 90 minute at 10am that would end at 11:30.

It might have to do with your pre or post massage experience. Perhaps time to get ready in the locker room and relax a bit?
