Why can I not book dining?

Ok- so I'm trying to book a vacation online (I've tried Disney's website, expedia, travelocity, Sams Club, and Southwest vacations) and I still am not seeing how to get the free dining!
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong...
I am checking in 8/28/08 with checkout 9/1/08. I added the parkhopper option (2 day ticket). I've looked at doing the Poly, GF, and tried CSR. Am I doing something obvious that's wrong? It wants to charge me for the dining add on! Help!

I could be wrong here, but I am almost positive you have to call Disney directly and ask for the free dining option when making your reservations. Good luck!

That is absolutely correct. In order to get the free dining you do have to call Disney ((407) W-DISNEY) directly. Unfortunately, they may not have any availability left for this promotion, as they only block a certain number of rooms for each All-Star Resort and the Port Orleans Resorts, and this is one of the most popular promotions that they do all year. My wife and I have taken advantage of it in the past, and it is FABULOUS!!! Great Food at an even greater price!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

No, you can book free dining from the website, but you have to go through the link at the bottom of the page to get the code added.

There is a link for free dining at disneyworld.com. The offer is directly underneath the main picture on the right hand side of the page. There are arrows to use to scroll thru the advertisements for disney things....scroll until you see the free dining offer.

You can also get there by going to the top of the opening page through tickets and reservations. After you click that, it will bring you to a new page where you can then scroll down on the left to special packages. This will give you a list of all special events that are avaliable to purchase. This way is easier for me since the opening page takes for ever to fully open up for me.

I think free dining is sold out for Labor Day weekend. Our dates are exactly the same and we were goign to try and switch resorts and nothing has been available for some time.
