Who's stuck at work today?

Yep, that would be me. Although I love this job, the one thing I miss at the old is that we had a lot more holidays off than we do now. No MLK, no President's day, no veteran's, election, columbus - none of that. What makes it worse is that my dh gets ALL of those days off b/c he works for the state - so he is still sleeping at home and probably won't even get up until 11 am! Must be nice!

I am here. No closures for the county courthouse! Our holidays are New Years Day, 1/2 day on Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, 1/2 day on Christmas Eve, Christmas, and 1/2 day on New Years Eve. I would LOVE a few more days!

I'm a school nurse substitute, and I'm subbing for a couple of weeks for one of the nurses. I'm only at work right now because today, which should be a school holiday, is a snow-day make-up day (they had a snow day back in December).

The really annoying thing is that my husband's company started giving them President's Day as a holiday this year. So he's off, and I (who only work sometimes) am at work.

And on top of that, if yesterday's icy weather had happened instead today, school would have been cancelled.

But I'll survive, make a little money, and DH gets a day all to himself (for once ) to go shopping for a new guitar .

And all the schools up here have this week off for winter break. (lucky kids) So I guess I'll have a traffic-less commute to work.

I have work, but I can't really complain.

Last week we had some pretty bad weather, so we were allowed to leave at 2. They are good about things like that.

And, well, I am going to WDW next Tues!!!!

I'm at work too. My DH is home, he works for the government so he has all sorts of days off that I don't get. This year was the first year we've ever had MLK day off though -- they announced that we would start getting MLK day off about a week after it last year.

On the other hand, I'm working extra hard at home since I'm stuck home with two very wild ADHD kids! They are off all week for winter break.

I had to go to work early today and they wouldn't tell me why. I'm not scheduled until this afternoon. Well, they gave me an award and told me I could go back home until later.

I am the only one here Most of the public schools were closed due to the roads, some due to the holiday, the DD's school is open think I will head to the mall in a jiffy

I have work as well. Our paid holidays are new years, MLK, memorial day, 4th of july, labor day, veteran's day, 2 days for thanksgving and 2 for christmas. I'm not complaining though I'm trying not to think it's a holiday and just another day to work!
