Please tell me we aren't the only family who goes back and forth everyday up until the day we check-in about which resort to stay at! ;) DH wants WL, I want Poly, ds #1 wants BW area, ds #2 wants AKL ... and NOBODY wants to budge! :teeth: ;) We finally got our new planning DVD today and that just made things worse. :rolleyes1

So who wins in your family? Do you draw straws? :rotfl: I'd love to hear how to settle this once and for all.

My dad does the research and choses for our family. I say that I will go with whatever he says since he and my mom pay for it. :sunny: Happy vacation!

I won this last time. DH wanted to stay at Pop and I wanted to stay at CSR but got a good rate on WL so I just booked it. So my goal is to stay at Poly next year, we'll have to see what happens.

I usually do the picking, however this time I'm fighting with my girls. One wants to go back to "Lilo's house" (the Poly) but I told her we've been there twice in a row and although we absolutely love it there I want to try somewhere else. My other DD wants to stay at "Simba's House" (AKL). I think it looks like a beautiful resort and will definately stay there someday but with the kids being still small I won't budge from a monorail resort as long as I can afford it.

So I have informed them we are staying at "Mary Poppins" house (they saw her at the GF this xmas) and they aren't happy but, I'm the one paying so they don't have a choice...ha!

In my family it was always the person paying for the trip. :)

My Dad said to the children, "When you offer to pay, pick the resort and tell me what time to be there."

I do! I go through all of the stress, (fun) lol, of planning, so I just book where I want. I'm also the one paying for most of the trip. DH wants nothing to do w/ it, just get on the plane and follow me.

This also means that he has no right to complain about anything. :goodvibes

ME! I am the planner, so..I get to plan. I am collecting pins from each resort I stay at, so most trips we do 4 nights someplace new, and 4 nights at a favorite. I am the Disney obsessed one in the family, so everyone is glad to let me make the decisions.

Basically it is me because I do the planning. The rest of them really don't care much about where we stay as long as it is on property. We all like CSR, VWL, BCV and AKL. We also like to try out two resorts, one fav and one new. I think this summer the new one is going to be POFQ but haven't made ressies yet.

Erika~

We rotate!! Our travel party is 1 adult, 1 junior, 1 teen..all girls!!! We go often so 3 out of 6 trips my kids choose. The other 3 I do according to the budget available! Now that we have stayed at all the resorts the decisions are getting harder.
Because we LOVE just being at Disney usually no one truley gets disappointed!!!
I love offering the choice to my children because they get overly involved with planning when it's "their" resort! Helps take some of the pressure off of me! They take pride in making a good choice that pleases everyone so we ALL win!

I believe I am creating the next generation of Disney addict's and that I am securing a future of being invited as a grandmother, along for their, my childrens and granchildrens, happy vacations to the happiest place on earth!!

A good mother is always thinking ahead, right?!?!

Good luck making your decision,

Debbie

I won this year for sure... DH wanted to go to Chicago!!!
(As you can see from the countdown, that isn't happening.) :cool1:

Nobody, our budget does. Unfortunately this time around we have to go during holiday season so that means no WL :sad2: hello Pop  .

I run a Totalitarian Regime in our house and I'm the dictator... So far there haven't been any complaints... ;) The hardest part in our house is kids on different school breaks, DH and myself getting time off from work, airfare prices and travel time - which is grueling to WDW, but so worth it!

I do the planning and usually pick the resort. Since DH and I are paying we never gave the kids a choice. The kids were happy to be at WDW the hotel didn't matter to them. Now that the kids are grown and usually don't travel with us I ask DH his choice he always says you pick.

My problem is that my wife dosen't share my Disney obsession (love). When I said I wanted to go back this year - she rolled her eyes.

However, I think I'm wearing her down. We do agree on our new favoriate resort and that is Pop Century. Even she had to admit how great it was. So if we go again this year, it will be Pop Century all the way.

I have to make every decision no matter how much I beg for input. Everyone waits until we actually CHECK IN to the resort, THEN decide to provide their "comments."

:rolleyes2

The short answer is Me. Although, I base it on input from my guys, the type of trip it is & what the budget allows for. We have always pretty much agreed on where we want to be tho.

There is really no battle in our household. As a matter of fact, my DW battles with herself on which resort to stay at. She is always asking which one of the 2 I would like to stay at and I tell her the samething everytime. It does not matter to me. After about a month of going back and forth she will let me know what one she has decided on. ::yes::

At that time I would go ahead and make the reservations only to change them again. :scared1:

We go through this everytime, it has become quite common and funny!! :rotfl:

Have a great day
john

I do the planning therefore I do the picking. :goodvibes We usually split our stay and we like trying new resorts.

Our next trip will on be for 5 nights so we are sticking with a monorail resort. I have a 2, 8, an 10 year old and I know we will spend a majority of our time at MK.
