Who wins the resort battle in your family???

For our Aug vacation I originally had DS & myself booked at the VWL 6nights after 3nights at Riverside.
I want to try Beach Club Villas since its Aug and I want Stormalong Bay so I switched VWL to BCV. DS still wants WL so I switched Riverside to WL.
Then I had another 3 vac days for 2005 so I added on 5nights at Pop to the beginning of our vacation.

So I make the final decision but I did consider DS13s wish

I win! We usually stay at a DVC resort, but we ran out of points. @@

Sooo...dh said I could choose where to stay on our spring trip. Poly won, hands down. I've always liked the atmosphere there. I'm the Disney freak, so to speak, so I get to choose :) (The monorail with the stroller for our infant helped to seal the deal too.)

Dh and I usually talk about it and the decision is joint. This next trip it is DH, myself, our 2 kids and a friend who has never been. With three adults, the decision making process is entertaining. Due to budget constraints, it will probably 5 nights mod, 2 nights AKL. Just don't ask which moderate, Friend wants CBR, I want POFQ and DH wants to return to WL. :confused3

To be honest I actually make the choices, However believe it or not we are all in agreement 99% of the time.

We like Boardwalk Villas, and AKL for our weekends. Several times I have wanted to switch to Poly club level. But the kids have revolted!!!! no dice.

We went this past December and the kids requested to maybe stay at WL next time? And Beach club has been in the running for them not for me for 2 years.

That being said the next trip is already planned. BWV followed by Boardwalk Inn club level. If certain members of our party do not end up coming with us BWI will go to AKL. ( again)

I plan, therefore I pick! Actually, I let them think that are are helping with the decision; but I usually steer them in the direction I want to go! ;)

I decide otherwise DH would pick a 'Days Inn.' Actually I love him to bits for letting me buy into DVC. He doesnt show interest how it works or what is available so I pick the resort. I think he will like SSR. It has billiards and is close to DD and restaurants at the crossroads.

I planned our 2002 trip under the impression that a WDW vacation is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and chose the resort. Now that we know the error of our ways ;) , I involve DD and DS in the research and planning for future trips. DS chose CSR for a quick trip last June and POP for his birthday in 2006; DD wants to return to CSR for her next birthday celebration. Of course, I get to choose for my solo trips - POP this time to check it out, but hopefully AKL or Poly someday!!

We have a saying in my household: "When momma isn't happy, nobody is happy." Since I'm momma, I get to choose. :rotfl2:

Wow! I'm surprised to see how many people get their way. ;) Right now we are booked at my first choice, the Poly, so hopefully it will stay that way. Of course dh is the "breadwinner" since I'm a stay at home mom, so I might have to give in and let him have his WL.

For me, it is usually about talking my DH into going period. When he finally caves (and he always does) I have to be more flexible with letting him have input on the resort. For ex....for our next trip, I though it was time for a stay at BC. For DH, it comes down to $$$. His theory...we don't spend any time in the room. I am sortof a park commando!! Bottom line, we will be staying at Pop. I am fine with that for now. I am a stay at home mom and not pulling in any serious $$. However, when the kiddies go to school and I start working again, deluxes, here we come!! :earboy2:

Since I'm a single mom, I don't have to negotiate with anyone. My son has a list of places he'd like to stay, but since I make the money to fund the trips, I get to decide.

My wife and I choose. If it were up to me, I'd always stay in the Poly the entire trip. She likes trying other resorts. So, we usually stay part of the trip in the Poly and part in a new resort. Next trip, we are splitting the stay between the Poly and the YC.

We get a little input from our kids (4 and 6). But, we pretty much overrule them immediately. I feel bad for about 2 seconds. They get to dictate what we do in the parks. So M and D should get to say where we sleep, eat and swim.

I do all of the planning and make all of the decisions. My husband would prefer I do it as he knows we will save money and still do the fun stuff. He knows I will not skip the fun to save a buck. :)

Please tell me we aren't the only family who goes back and forth everyday up until the day we check-in about which resort to stay at! ;) DH wants WL, I want Poly, ds #1 wants BW area, ds #2 wants AKL ... and NOBODY wants to budge! :teeth: ;) We finally got our new planning DVD today and that just made things worse. :rolleyes1

So who wins in your family? Do you draw straws? :rotfl: I'd love to hear how to settle this once and for all.

Erika :earsgirl:

My wife wins, I want to stay at WL, but she wants to try each resort? So we are hopping for now.

There is really no battle in our household. As a matter of fact, my DW battles with herself on which resort to stay at. She is always asking which one of the 2 I would like to stay at and I tell her the samething everytime. It does not matter to me. After about a month of going back and forth she will let me know what one she has decided on. ::yes:: :

It's the same with us I am DW and my DH says whatever makes you happy, in a resigned that he has to go to the world sort of way.

My favorite is POFQ and DH's is AKL. Somehow we end up staying at POFQ more frequently. The fact that it costs less is a useful excuse (hee-hee) :teeth: The good part is that I really do like AKL too and he likes POFQ, and as long as we are at DISNEY it's always sunshine!

Mom usually wins...I do all the research and planning for our trips. My husband likes to try different resorts each time and just asks where and when he's supposed to show up... :rotfl:

That would never fly here.... Have you thought about splitting your stay??
