Who is waiting for a public code??

For those asking about Disney Quest. Once you are in the door the majority of the games are free, including the virtual reality ones. There are a few that you pay to play because you can earn tickets to redeem for prizes (just like Chuck E Cheese games). We just avoid that floor when we are there. Plus there are so many other really cool things to do, my son doesn't care about missing on the junk prizes.

Back on topic...the public code is out....YVI

But, I was pricing yesterday just a base package, no hopper or anything, trying to guess what the code would get me. For 3 nights, 3 day ticket, 1 adult, 1 10yr old, it was $723 at POP. Now today, it's $808. But with the code, with hoppers and water parks, it's $953. How does a free upgrade cost me $130?????

I just called Disney and got a really nice CM but didn't really know what I was talking about, so she put me on hold and must have talked to a supervisor, I got the code applied but had to change from ASMo to the Music which I don't really care one way or another. The thing that confused me was she told me that to add the hopper option on it would be $40 dollars per person but when she applied the code she told me it would only be a savings of $55 total for 4 days but I have a 5 day hopper already booked, then she notices that we have the 5 day and then takes another $15 off my savings to only $40 now, does that seem right you would think that with more days I would save more not take more off me. Am I the one that is confused or is she. Don't know if I should call back and see if this is right. Linda

Got2travel,

I am having the same experience as you. Why have the prices gone up? It almost seems as if they're labelling it as FREE upgrades, but they've also upped the price!

I don't get it :scratchin

I'm waiting to hear back from my TA to see what crazy story she'll give me (not her fault, but probably Disney) as she tries to apply something to my reservation.

Just Wondering Where On The Disney Website Do You Find The Specials. The Cast Member Mentioned It And I Also Saw It On This Board But Can Not Find It.
Just Wondering

I went to disneyworld.com, clicked on Tickets & Reservations in the upper right, Special Offers on the left, first offer listed is NEW! Great Vacation Package Rates.

On the Disney website, when you price out a package through the special offer section, it seems to give you the pricing for the package with the hopper and water parks. I don't think this is the sale price.

My TA just called me back and had no problem applying the code to my exisiting reservation, :woohoo: and the pricing was the base ticket price (no hopper and water).

The web site is a bit confusing because the price shown through the offer is actually not the price you pay; it is the price value of the package you would have paid with the hopper and water parks. You will pay the base price without hopper and water.

Does that make any sense???

Thank you! I am lost too! I just quoted the package with the discount for my aunt (I am an AAA TA) and the "discount" bumped her up 200 dollars. HOW DOES IT MAKE SENSE?

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!! I seriously don't think he knows what he's talking about either.

I explained to him that I would now only pay for base ticket and be upgraded to hopper and water.

OMG!!!! I'm going to have a breakdown at any moment!! I can pretty much say that I'm not getting this offer because it's too confusing for them and they're probably just going to say it's not available or it's pricing higher.

I don't want to cancel with them now because I'm afraid I won't get a room and everything will be messed up. But from now on I'm getting a Disney specialist TA or going through Disney themselves.

You have to give them some time to even find out about the deal. I JUST happened to be on our disney site (for TAs only) and saw that a code was released. I had no idea what it was or anything.

I doubt that they would just tell you that the price was higher or it wasnt available for no reason. I priced out a package for my aunt that she has already paid in full and this "special" put her price UP an additional 200 dollars. I am a Disney Specialist and I know what I am talking about...this is NO deal!

This code can be a deal for some people . . . it all depends on when you booked (and for how long)

If you booked in 2005, your prices are already cheaper than booking the exact same package now. So, to take advantage of this special, you have to essentially "re-book" at 2006 prices, which means your savings are not as large for you.

I, for instance, booked a 9-day hopper package in 2005. By re-booking today, I received the water parks extra but for about $100 less than I originally paid (without water). So, the $$ savings is not huge, but I AM receiving the water parks now for less $$ than I orginally booked for.

If someone is just booking now, they will save the value of adding the water parks and the hopper. I just think the web site is a little confusing because it gives you the original package price for the parks, hopper and water and not just the base price with the extra added free.

I priced the exact same base package yesterday and today, and the cost is higher today. Then I followed the website's link for the "offer" and it was even higher. In fact, it was higher than the price quoted yesterday when I added hopper and water parks to my base package. Today, I clicked through as far as I could without giving my credit card and it never showed any lower rate. Either there is something wrong with the site, or this deal is no deal at all. At least not for those of us trying to start a new booking today.

Glad some of you were able to save with this. But looks like we won't be making it out to the world any time soon. Not unless something better comes out.

I'm thinking that if a public room only code does come out, we may have to wait till march 9th or around that time. It seem like that is historically when the public rates could come out!! Let's hope for an earlier release date! :worship:

Are you allowed to apply a room discount to a package? If one does come out.

It doesn't look good for me getting the ticket upgrade special. Still haven't heard from TA about it.

I already priced it online myself and it would save me $126. The problem is that now Yacht Club isn't coming up anymore. So I guess my TA will be too late to grab it for me.

The TA I spoke to couldn't even follow the details I was explaining to him. He kept saying we'll have to check and see if you can get an extra day added on and you'll have to pay a penalty for changing airfare. That's not what I wanted. Didn't even mention changing dates or adding time on to my ressie. He kept referring to a special their agency has which is only for 3 day vacations.

One thing you might want to keep in mind when considering changing flights/airfare. Well, I know this is Delta's policy, can't vouch for any other airlines, if the airline changes your flight schedule you can call and make canges to it free of charge, it has to be w/i 24hrs of original flight. That happened to me and I changed both my flights on this upcoming trip free of charge. Delta has made schedule "adjustments" monthly (1st wk of the month) since I booked this trip back in August! So you may want to consider that as an option instead of paying to change your flight.

That's not my point. We don't want to change our flight, our dates, NOTHING. I only want to apply code YVH to my existing ressie through a TA.

Now my TA calls and says it's going to be 9 hundred and something more to do this special. She thinks it's only for 3 days and we have to pay for the extra 4 days at regular price. I called Disney myself a couple of minutes ago to make sure I'm not losing my mind :crazy2: , and the CM I spoke to said that I am correct and the TA is wrong. Thank you!! So I call TA back and she's on the line with Disney now so I'm waiting to hear back from her.

This is turning into a nightmare over a little code that will save us about $100 and give us other park options. :headache:

Ohhh!! Well if they cant even follow that simple request next time you will more than likely want to consider booking with someone else. I dont see how it could be that big of a deal to apply it!

Yep, next time I'm booking with Disney or a Disney travel specialist.

Still haven't heard back from my TA and it's been 2 1/2 hours. :scared:

I tried to get pricing on the special offer on Disney's website. The first price it shows is not the discounted price. If you click on continue, it will say preparing quote, and then deduct the hopping and water park amount. This amount will still include insurance which you can remove. Looking at this final number it still seemed high, but then I noticed that under package type it said magic your way with dining. Dining was not mentioned anywhere else, but this could be why quotes are looking high. It said this was code YVI.

I was just coming back to post this. I tried again today since yesterday I was getting such high rates. I am still getting high rates, but then I saw that it added dining, even though it never asked me if I wanted dinning. I am pricing a value and no matter what I do, it adds the dining. But then I priced with a moderate and it didn't force it in. I guess I need to call if I decide to do this.

Came back to edit this. I finally got the right price to reflect. I was able to remove the dinning but they don't make it easy. Now if I can get some good airfare, we may be going for a Star Wars weekend.

TA got back to me tonight and it's a NO. :( There isn't any packages left for YC.

I'm gonna keep looking on the Disney site though. Maybe one will come available. :wizard:
