Who is waiting for a public code??

Just called for the free public code. If you have a MYW base package use code YVG for free hopper & water park upgrade. If you have MYW with dining use YVH to get the same upgrade. The woman on the phone was a bit confused (telling me it was for Visa), but then she searched it & said it was available to all. YIPPEE!! Saved $300!!! :teeth:

I just spoke with a CM, she said you can't get promotion for more than 7 days! Then she put me on hold and is checking with guest services! :confused3
 

My travel dates are from April 27-May 1 I called gave the code and they said it isnt available till may !!!
 
The codes not available at the All Star movies though at least not for 5/4-5/11. I just called and was told its only available at the other values :( , doesn`t help me much since the only reason were staying at the values is for my DS 2.5, who loves buzz lightyear (I would love to upgrade to modrate or deluxe, but hes really excited about staying at the "buzz hotel ").The code would have saved me $150 ish if i did my math right, and we already have the PLUS option booked. Oh well i guess no Discount for me then !!!

No discount for me either. It was not available at the Port Orleans French Quarter for April 23-28. Bummer!
 
I just called and used the code for free hopper and water park YVH had to move from POFQ to POR but that's ok to save 300.00 I would love another code. I asked how many days you can use the code for and she told me 8 days. Also asked if a code comes out and the trip is paid can it still be applied and she said yes.

how did you save $300? we only saved around $60 and had to move from preferred to water view. :scratchin
 
We were not doing the water park feature before and we moved from a preffed room to standard so I guess that made the difference.

i've gottcha! we had originally had the hopper option on our package. we never would have gotten the water park option, so our package went down $60. i guess TECHNICALLY we saved close to $200 (according to Disney) but to us...it's still only $60. :rotfl2: I guess i shouldn't complain, at least it's something! although i got a pin last year for a room credit of $150. i would take that over this any day! :)
 
I am having such a hard time explaining this to the TA I booked through. They are totally clueless!!!!!

I feel like screaming right now!!!!! My TA told me to call her on Thursday when the code came out and didn't bother to tell me she's off on Thursday!!!!!

The guy I spoke to doesn't believe me!!!! He'll have to check into this. He actually wanted me to get a printout of the offer and bring it to him!!

I gave him the website and said for him to read it for himself!!!

I also told him I spoke directly to Disney this morning about the offer and they couldn't do anything because I used a TA. They said to contact them and they would have to call them.

Why is everything so hard!!! Next time I'm going straight through Disney! :mad: :headache:

Now I have to wait for them to call me back. So by the time they figure it out, I'll be out of luck.

Is it too late to cancel the package you booked through your TA and just book the trip yourself? Particularly since it looks like this package is only applied to certain resorts and room categories - the one you booked may not apply and it doesn't sound like your TA is willing to investigate your options for you.

I'm sort of done with TA's I haven't tried the Disney specialists like SW or DU, yet, so maybe they are different, but dealing with a middleman, particularly one that knows less about WDW vacations than I do has been a complete headache in the past!

If I were you I would call WDW NOW and see what they have available and then either book directly and cancel with the TA or go to the TA armed with as much info as you can gather from WDW.

I would agree that a non-Disney Specialist TA could be a problem, but I've used DU for my last 5 trips and they are terrific! In fact, my DU agent emailed me earlier to say that this code was out and she had already applied it to my existing reservation - I didn't have to lift a finger!

Like JobeeC, I already had the hopper option for the 3 of us, so it only saved us about $62 - my question is that I paid $105 for hopping, so why did I only save $62? Someone on another thread suggested it's because the new ticket prices have gone up...man, do I miss that Fairytale Pkg from Fall 2003 (pay for 4 nights, get 3 nights free) :( In fall 2004, we got "pay for 5 nights, get 2 nights free" or something like that. Now early November is no longer off-peak :headache: and for this vacation I'm saving all of $62 - this is killing me! ;)
 
Last year, public codes for May were announced March 9. It all just depends on how many rooms they still have to book as to when or whether they'll announce a public code.

Buying an AP just to get the discount didn't make much sense for us. After calculating in the cost of the AP, we were only saving about $50 over our AAA discount for room only.

I thought that the code that came out this morning for the free ticket upgrades was the public code - does anyone think another public code would come out for the same time frame? Maybe you're waiting for a room-only code?
 
Ok so I just called back, on the off chance the first CM overlooked something about availablilty at the all star movies. I got the same anwser :sad: except, the CM I spoke to was very helpful I told i was really hoping for a discount but didn`t really want to change resorts, he said to keep trying as people might cancel or not secure their package with a deposit in time. He said I should keep calling. So if ther was no availablity for the code at your chosen resort keep trying!!! There maybe hope yet! :Pinkbounc
 
I'm still waiting for a room only discount. I have a 3 day pass with park hopper option but it is not a package deal so I don't think the discount would apply for me! :goodvibes
 
I just called. I wanted to see if just maybe there were some codes for the general public. Hey you never know. I had a sarcastic person on the phone. I just simply asked if there were any discounts available for the time that we would be going and the man replied "what would entitle you to a discount" I was shocked :crazy2:
