Amber-

Are you a member of the mouseforless? I just saw a message of another Amber celebrating a birthday today, I was just wondering. Do you have any plans for tonight?? :sunny:

You guys are great!!

Here are some photos of my cakes and my desk at work. My coworkers thought it would be fun to decorate my cubicle.

Hello kids-- (if I bug you with my salutations, please tell me--that's just me)

I just got home from work. I was very busy today and wore the wrong shoes so my dogs are barking. I was pretty much solidly booked from 7am-3pm then I had to stop at the hospital to have some blood drawn and keep in mind that I ate breakfast at about 6:30am. Luckily I had some cottage cheese in the frig at work so every so often in between clients I ran back and took a couple of bites. Yummmy.

So I come here to visit and all I read about is food?? What's up with that?? ;) ;) I stopped on the way home and grabbed a chicken pita from Jack-in-the-box of all places because I was starving and have nothing in the house except for cereal and milk (sound familiar??). I did at least get the fresh fruit cup instead of fries and a bottled water. I am trying so hard to take some weight off-----I have been on prednisone for 3 years now and it is such a lovely drug, just lovely. I am being sarcastic, can't you hear it in my voice??

Lyzziesmom--your girls are absolutely adorable!!!! Cute as buttons. Do you have two or three, because I swore I read that you have three girls?? And yes, I wish we could be like 2yr olds and fall on the floor kicking and screaming when we don't get our way. Wouldn't that be a pretty sight.

dznyfan--I was already a busy girl at work by the time you offerred up the coffee and danish, but thanks for the gesture. I will take a small piece of both key lime and coconut cream now though (2 smalls don't even make a full piece, right??).

Thank you, thank you very much. I'll be herer all week. Be sure to tip your waiter

 I just got this------wheewww-right over my head. Don't mind me--it's been a long day.

Hi Tinkgirl Nicole-- :wave2: This is my biggest fear. I am new to the digital camera world and I am so afraid I will do this too. I hope you can figure out how to restore them.

Linda-- so glad your little guy is feeling better. What a yucky way to feel. :guilty: Your pics of him are so cute. :sunny: Where did you find all of those recipes??

Dolphingirl-- Hi. Yes, wouldn't Queen Latifah make a perfect Lula. Any suggestions for the others?? Like I said before, it is hard for me because I don't want my vision to be jaded.

Amber--again happy birthday--wow, three different cakes?? I don't recall even getting one on mine last April. You get to be my age (38  :ssst: ) and I get to have a bite of dessert when we go out to dinner. Enjoy, you young pup. (I'll trade ya)

And I was like, "Don't question me just give me some money!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: This is classic!!!!!!!!!!!

Pozey--congrats on your cheesecake win. Sounds yummy. So where are you taking us for dinner with your prize $$?? :teeth:

Ash--what's with the sleeping problem, sweetie?? :sad2: How long have you said this has been going on?? I'm wondering if your doctor could prescribe a light non-addictive sleeping pill for you. I am usually, or at least try to be whenever possible, a more holistic problem treater, but sometimes prescriptions are needed. Have you checked into this?? Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Donna--good day at work?? We did miss you this morning--don't let it happen again. Just kidding. Personally, I did not even log in so no need for the coffee or tea for me this a.m.

YM--hi girl :worship: :worship: --guess what. One of my clients today gave me the new Steph Plum book today as my "tip". She said she knew I probably wouldn't have bought it yet. I'll try to start reading it tomorrow depending how I feel. Yeah for SP. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Wow, was this long enough?? Did I set a record maybe??
Busy, busy week for me (doctors/work) so I will try to check in when I can. Have a good night if I don't talk to you soon.

:wave2: :wave2: my friends.

I'm just the quotin' fool, aren't I??

Amber - awesome cakes!! And love the cubicle.. looks like something I'd do to somebody... :lmao:

DonnaLeah - you're welcome for the coffee subbing this morning. I was happy to. Thanks for the congrats on the BBQ - and I love the license plate.

2xcited2slp not only does two small pieces of pie only make one whole, but go for one of each - you know, it's like Disney food - no fat, no calories! (in my dreams, right?)

I don't have a vanity tag on my car right now - I used to have MCKYMSE, but it now is hanging over the door inside the Gurgling Suitcase at Old Key West. I need to get another.

My DD is TIVOing High School Musical tonight - it's the first time I've actually sat and watched it. Funny - for a girl who is a musical purist, I'm surprised she likes this one so much! I think I can DIS and pay attention to the TV at the same time - maybe. :confused3

What were temps where you are today? We hit over 100 and it's looking like it'll stay that way for the rest of the week. Alaska sounds really good right now.

DsnyFan.....sounds like you guys had a pretty good day at the Art of Barbeque. Those results are pretty good. I e-mailed my friend earlier this morning to see how they finished, but haven't heard back from him.

Our company had a picnic this weekend. They had a dessert contest and I won 1st prize. I made a chocolate marble cheesecake (my specialty). I won $50. :cool1:

And welcom to Ready to go in Ok........another Tulsa area DISer who is in the cliqueless Clique. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the dessert contest. :cheer2: That sounds soooo good...you and DsnyFan are making crave some dessert. I did bake some choc chip cookies this weekend (in between books). :rotfl:

2xcited2slp: HI ya!!!!

Bad at work?? Did I ever mention that my mother, sister and I own a dry cleaning business!!?? This past week has been hotter than H....HOT!! We have large exhaust fans that help, but no AC!! :cold: I come home kind of grumpy sometimes. I have worked in the family business for about 6 1/2 years.Formerly I was a customer service mgr. for National Super Mkts.(if you remember them!!) After the buyout I worked in the same capacity for Schnucks for about 4 1/2 years. DH's early commute and my sometimes late hours did not coincide well with a small infant......so I went to work for the family!!! Now that you all have heard my life story you can wake up now!!! :bored:

Goodness no, I have my hands more than full enough with just the two! Perhaps I said something about "us 3 three girls," referring to me and my girls? There's no men in our family, so we girlies tend to stick together. BTW, I love your salutations!

Amber, those cakes looked delicious! I had some yummy cheesecake yesterday, but I sure do miss Key Lime pie. They just don't know how to make it here in Kansas; if it's not rubbery or bright green, it's both. :crazy2: And loved the cube decorations. If we did that at my job, there would be no time to actually work! Hmmm.... maybe that's not such a bad idea...

DznyFan, we are also TIVO'ing HSMusical tonight. I am catching on the west coast feed so it will record in our sleep. My DD has watched the darn thing so many times, I figured it's about time I see what all the hullaballoo is about. I'm sure I'll get the songs stuck in my head - I already have to hear them on Radio Disney every time we're in the car!

Donna, weren't you the one with internet trouble? (sorry I lose track easily of who said what, and I don't want to go back through ALLL the pages!) Don't give up hope yet! I guess I am lucky, our cable company is either really good or really overstaffed. I was having lots of connectivity problems last week, my modem light would suddenly blink or go out entirely. Every time I picked up the phone to call, it began working again! :rotfl: I swear the technology can all talk to each other. Anyway, they were able to come out in a couple days & the guy actually showed up early - good thing I left work early or I would have missed him! There was some sort of bad wire in the box outside & he fixed it lickety-split, and even stuck around long enough for me to test it. Good as new! :goodvibes

YM, the Ambien works like a dream for me. (Pun very much intended, go ahead & groan.) It works by knocking out your short term memory & helping your brain relax. Basically you can't hold a thought in your silly head long enough to obsess on anything & keep you from sleeping. I don't take it every night, but guaranteed when I do I will sleep like a rock and my eyes will pop open bright & shiny exactly 7.5 hours later. With all the house nonsense, the upcoming birthday & WDW trip, plus all the stuff I've been dealing with at work, it really is a lifesaver. I just asked my dr. for a sample and hello restful nights! Also, I've found that 1/2 a pill works just as good as a whole one, with NO morning grogginess. It really helps stretch the almighty dollar.
WARNING: Do not wash down Ambien with a wine cooler, even if it is the only drink in your fridge!! It WILL cause the words on your computer monitor to hop right off and begin marching across the room in mid-air! ...um... or so I've heard. :rolleyes1

All is quiet on the househunting front. We are waiting to see if our low bid on the 'eh, just ok' house is accepted. I can see the potential in it, but the bathroom is just SO tiny it hurts me to think of it. And going from a 18x22 bedroom to a maybe 9x11 bedroom ain't gonna be fun either. Oh well it could be worse... I could be back in my parents' basement. THAT was no picnic, let me tell you! In the meantime, I have been scouring the listings.

Well this WAS just going to be a quick hello & daily update, but it looks like I'm going for novel of the day again. 2xcited, if you haven't set a record yet, I think I may also be a contender!

Amber:
Those cakes look sooo good! Yum.

2xcited:
I've been having some sleeping problems for a little less than a year. It's really frusterating. I need to be added to my DH's insurance plan, and then I can make a doctors appointment to ask about it. I would like to get something to help!

Hope everybody's having a great night!! I think DH and I might go to the gym later.

I feel very sad though, I just found out that my grandparents had to put their Yorkie, Missy to sleep. I've known her for several years, she was 15 years old and I'm very sad I couldn't be there with them. The whole family is very upset. :guilty:

Ashley: Sorry to hear about your grandparents little yorkie. My DSis has a yorkie named Chase, they are truly members of the family.

Lyzziesmom: I don't normally have internet problems, just once in awhile. I don't recall who was having that problem, maybe hellokitty86?

Good evening everyone!

I really need to start checking this thread a few times a day...when I wait until the evening to do it I am way too far behind. All of this food talk and pictures of cakes are making me really hungry though!

Happy Birthday Amber! :bday: Your cakes are so pretty!

Ashley, that is so sad about your grandparents' Yorkie. I know they must be heartbroken. :grouphug:

I figured the best way to celebrate was to think of the WORST place on earth and go there for my birthday, throw in the fact I am terrified of all dentists event to just get my teeth cleaned and figured this will be the worst b-day ever. That way next year it will seem like the best birthday ever! :cheer2: Actually I am starting a new job on the following Monday and wanted to get this taken care of before that. Had to laugh at your quote though. :teeth: Thanks for the happy early birthday.

I've got the coffee pot set up ready for the morning. Tomorrow my DH and DS come home from Arizona!! This house has been so empty without them, and I HAVEN'T SLEPT WELL!!! Hope you all have a great evening!!

Alright Lyzziesmomma----I was just going to quietly lurk and read before bed but this made me do the big HAHAHAHAHA------------out loud. I think the neighborhood heard me because a bunch of lights went on and dogs started to bark. You are a crack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and BTW---you're positive you just have two girls?? I suppose I could have read wrong. I guess you should know, right?? They are still cuties though, even if there are only two. ;)

I will read the rest tomorrow night, hopefully and comment. I am sure all of you are waiting by your computers with baited breath. Whatever that means....... never quite understood this saying. :confused3 :confused3

Night to all my DIS sisters :wave2: :wave2: ( don't think we have any brothers here, do we?? Not any that stuck around, at least. Please correct me if I'm wrong. See, I told you way back when....I am shy and quiet until I get comfortable....then LOOK OUT..........OK, I'll zip it now.) bu-bye :dance3: :dance3:
