Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

You gotta be careful, the Tag Fairy does seem to have a bit of an underwear fetish.

Let's see, my daily update: not too interesting. Went to Target, I can't believe the school supplies are out in full force already. Didn't summer just start like last week? It sure feels like it. But the stuff was cheap, so I grabbed a list & got almost everything on the list. Every year there's at least one item on the list that just totally stumps me. I can look at it 9 ways to Sunday and not figure out what the heck I am supposed to buy. I suppose I could just fork over the $50 for the pre-assembled supply kit from the PTA, but I'm too darn cheap to do that. This year it was "fiber tip pens." I have no earthly idea what those might be. I guessed that it means the same as felt-tip pens? Any ideas? Also, there was no way I was plunking down $8.50 for a dry-erase eraser/marker combo set. Sorry, but the teacher will just have to make do with my $1.27 eraser and a couple extra markers that are NOT packaged together.

Anyway, I was able to buy nearly everything on the list plus my regular shopping that we actually inteded to do, and still get out of there for under $40! I think it's some sort of personal record!! I'm always telling my boss, don't bother paying me, just deposit my check directly to Target since that's where most of it goes anyway. Sigh.

Yesterday I took the girls to Crown Center here in KC, it's a big shopping center that I haven't been to yet in the nearly 5 years I've lived here. It was pretty fun, we went to an art workshop at Hallmark, toured the Hallmark museum, shopped at the Crayola store, toured a traveling science museum exhibit, and ate at the cutest little restaurant where they have a little train on a track near the ceiling that delivers your food. The kids loved that. The food was horrible, but the experience was really neat. I took about a million pictures of the girls in their little paper train engineer hats, I'll have to post one here as soon as I get around to getting them out of the camera.

Ashley: I love that we share a birthday! The only other person I ever knew with my birthday was a guy in high school. We used to tell people we were twins, because we were like 2 minutes apart. The funny part is, he was 1/2 Chinese! (and I'm not) The confused looks on people's faces cracked us up every time.

2xcited: I also had laundry planned for this weekend. Actually got a few loads done, too! I hate hate HATE doing laundry, it is such a hateful chore, but it was either that or go to work naked, so I enlisted Lyzzie's help (bribing her with Disney Dollars, of course) and got it done.

Oh my goodness April, I am literally crying for you!!!! It is wierd, the sermon at church this evening was about adoption. The priest had a lovely story about a mother who adopted and soon after became pregnant. Later on in life she was asked by someone which child was adopted and she replied, "I don't remember." I thought this was beautiful.
I do wish everyone was not so far away from each other because you need a big hug!!! :grouphug: :grouphug: Please feel free to PM me if you need to talk. :sunny:
Thanks. I'm ok. Really. I've finally made it to a good place, at least for right now (and sometimes that's all we've got), concerning children. Now if other things could go a little smoother that would be great.

DonnaLeah, I know isn't that funny and sweet at the same time? The first time it still woke me up. He slept right through the dumb thing vibrating. I'm the one who felt it and it wasn't even on me. So the next night he stuck it inside his shorts!! :lmao: :lmao:
I said, "What the heck are you doing?" And he said, "I want to make sure I feel it tonight." He's a good guy. I truly am blessed.

Fiber tipped pens?? :confused3 I'm stumped on that one too. I'd have to go with you and get the felt tipped pens. Does every student supply the teacher with markers/erasers? That's alot of markers and erasers. Of course if they're supposed to last the whole year perhaps not.

The Crown Center sounds like a great place!! How fun and cool!

I shared a birthday with a guy in school. His name was Joey Diaugustine. We both had red hair even. :teeth: Anyway, I remember in first grade bringing in full size chocolate candy bars (instead of cupcakes) to hand out for my birthday. Well, he didn't have anything so the teacher made me let him hand out half. Now today I would willingly share what I have with anyone but in first grade I was so upset that he got to give out half of my candy bars! Oh the silly things of childhood.

And I was baking again last night, after spending the day in the heat! Had to do 3 pies for a church bake sale, and one to keep. 7 pies this week, and we kept one. I'm glad my weeks aren't normally like this.

We had our BBQ competition yesterday - didn't do too bad, but could have done better. 9th place in Brisket, and 4th place Ribs. 17th overall. There were 78 teams. After a day in the 100 degree heat, I got home and hit the pool! And ordered a pizza.

Wow, this is wonderful!!! What kind of pies did you bake???

Oh, I wanted to mention that I just watched the cutest movie. It was called Little Black Book with Brittany Murphy. She had some really great little words of wisdom at the end as the movie was winding down.

I wanted to see this movie but completely forgot about it until you mentioned it. I will have to put this on my list.

I will have to think about the school supplies too. Have to register DS for school the week we get back from Florida!! He always has to have a pair of "white soled tennis shoes" for P.E.. Last year I had to buy 2 different pair because his foot grew during the year, go figure!!! Bought a few clothes for school found a couple of shirts at Kohl's for about 2.60 each and one at Gap for 3.99!!

April!!!! You've got me cracking up again. Trying to get that mental picture out of my head!!!

Hey,Hey----did you see, huh, did you see what I can do now?? In my previous post?? See it, do ya?? Thanks a whole bunch. I am going to graduate from elementary c'mputer before ya know it.

Oh, the little things in life. You all probably think I am nuts.

P.S. and btw, April, I made a mean PBJ for the alien, too. thanks for that. :teeth: :teeth:

Look at 2xited2slp!!! She learned how to 'Quote"!! :thumbsup2 I'm not making fun of you, it's a difficult process for me too!!!
Didn't find any fun shoes. :sad2: I did buy about 3 blouses for myself the rest was pretty much for DS.(He looks cuter in his clothes than I do.)

Lyzziesmom,

It has been so long since school supply days--remember, no kiddies for me--those shopping days were my favorite when I was a little girl. Some of the things on the lists today (I sound so old) are really crazy. I know when I even go to the store to buy a pen or something, I stand there for hours on end mesmerized (SP?) with my eyes bugging out because there are too many to choose from. What happened to the plain old BIC PEN?? The only odd thing we had to bring in my elementary days was a box of kleenex. You had to be careful when you opened the cabinet so that 25 boxes didn't fall on your head. I have no clue what fiber-tipped pens are. :confused3 :confused3

I am a Target girl as well. Yeah for Target. I have one literally walking distance from my home. They tore it down because it was so old and rebuilt it. The entire time of the rehab, we kept hearing that it was going to be an amazing new store with an escalator and everything. I kept thinking "yeah, SuperTarget". Well, not so much. When it was finally finished, I, of course, went on opening weekend. I was picturing this mult-level Target (because there really is such a thing--in Florida, that I know of), well, what we got was, yes, an escalator--------------that takes you to the parking garage. Yippy Skippy. It does come in handy on bad weather days, though. Oh, and even though it is walking distance, I always drive because who can walk with that many bags?? :confused3 :teeth: :teeth:

Now I want to go to KC and go to Crown Center and Country Club Plaza. (is it still called that??) The Crayola store is not to be missed.

P.S. yes, I have noticed that about the TF.

I'll remember this, sister. Just kidding. ;) ;) I know you're not making fun. No offense taken.

I guess it's about time to call it a night. Tomorrow I have to get up at 5:30am whether I want to or not!! I plan on going to sleep :cloud9: and dreaming of WDW. I always have this recurring dream where I sneak out of the hotel room really early. I have MK all to myself and just as the park gets crowded DH and DS find me!! princess:
Good night to all!! 12 1/2 days and I'll be there!!

Goodnight Donna,

I think it is time for me, as well. Yawn.

Night all.

As promised in my last post, here's a couple pictures of my kids at the train restaurant yesterday.

Lyzzie enjoying a drink that is NOT Beverly:

Emma enjoying... well, I don't know, but she sure was happy:

According to my camera, this was 7 minutes later:
July2006079.jpg

Ah, to be 2 again. Wouldn't we all be a bit happier if we were allowed to just have a good cry in public once in a while for no reason whatsoever, without the fear of being sent to the loony bin?

Well, I suppose if I don't take my Ambien now there will be no sleep for me tonight, so g'night all!

Lyzziesmom: I always spend waaay too much money at Target. I go there to get one thing and end up with a cart full. My DH is just as bad, he'll suddenly remember he needs some new socks or undershirts. How many socks and underwear can a man have??? He has way more than I do. Sigh, I wish I could go school supply shopping though, I love office supplies. It is my most favorite thing. (Guilty confession.) BTW, Your kids are absolutely adorable!! Thanks for sharing those pictures.

DonnaLeah: I am so jealous that your trip is so soon! Have fun and take lots of pictures to share with us!

April, I would be mad if I had to share my birthday treats too. But I AM an only child.

We ended up getting Chili's to go for dinner. We don't have ANYTHING in the house for dinner even though we just went grocery shopping yesterday. :confused3 We just got stuff like cereal and milk. If I don't make a list to go to the grocery store with, I get totally overwhelmed!!

Have a good nights sleep everyone! See ya tomorrow!

Very cute...thanks for sharing. Oh, how does that Ambien work? I usually the kids (liquid) benadryl or some tylenol pm!

Good Morning, all! I guess I'm the first one up this morning. Coffee's on, and there's danish on the kitchen counter.

2xcited2slp ~Key Lime and Coconut Cream.

And look at you, quoting and all!! You did it!

April ~ I didn't get to mention this yesterday, but I was so touched by your story. :sad1: But I'm glad to hear you're in a better place. Funny story: One of our best friends is the product of a couple giving up on conception. His parents tried for years, gave up, and adopted two boys. (at different times). A couple years after adopting the second, oops! Here's Justin! I'm no expert on the subject by any means, but sometimes I think that the stress of trying to conceive can be detrimental. We've got two [different sets of] friends who got pregnant after trying everything then giving up. I guess in the end, it's in God's hands anyway.

Well, I think with 100+ temps expected, I'll be hiding inside in the A/C today.

Ya'll have a great day!

oh, and Lyzziesmom ~ love the pics! They're adorable!

Ashley, that statment right there just sealed the deal that we are long lost twins! :teeth: That is just how I am!! NO KIDDING!! The grocery store is such a big place and I'll walk around and put things in my cart and come out paying $75.00 and have nothing to show for it. I'll have no complete meals but instead a hodgepodge of mismatched products. I can however, get the bread, milk and cereal. I can do that. But everything else? I'm not exactly sure why I get it? I guess the packaging looked good on Aisle 4.

DznyFan -Thank you. Your words are very encouraging.

OMG... I left for the weekend and had like 8 pages of reading to try to catch up!! DS was sick all weekend. I took him to the Dr. Friday morning and they were cracking up at him... he was telling them...I've got a headache, a fever, my stomach hurts, I've been throwing up, I have a ear ache and my glands are swollen, I need drugs! They were calling him Dr. Kenny and asking him if he wanted to work there... He is friends w/the Dr.'s son. She is great, the sweetest most comfortable Dr. in the world :grouphug: She gave him some antibiotics and he was sick until last night... he finally asked for some food this morning. Poor little guy couldn't keep anything down.

Wow...I missed so much!!

Lucas-that is awesome your birthday is on our anniversary :)

I was having withdrawl big time... no internet at our cabin in KY:(!!!! I hope you all had a great weekend... I hope things get better... seems like quite a few of you had an interesting weekend.
