My mom just called and told me that my uncle was carjacked and stabbed 16 times. Luckily, a girl found him and called the police or else he would have bled to death. He is in surgery now; most of the wounds were on his arm. They had to do surgery, because the arm was swelling They said he will be ok. I just can't believe it; what is wrong with people?

Amber I'm so sorry to hear about this. I hope all goes well with his recovery. Prayers will be said for him and his family.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I didn't hear anything back last night about his surgery, so I'm taking that as good news.

Do you mind me asking how old your uncle is??

Did the guy get his car and leave him, or did the guy get away on foot??

He is 55. The guy did take his car, wallet, and cell phone. The police found the cell phone, but nothing else. My aunt had to change all the locks yesterday, because she is scared the guy would try to get into the house.

Lin - too late - I sent her to the site to look.... she picked out the third one in the the Belle collection. I'm not sure who is going to pay for this wedding, but at least the photographer has already agreed to come to WDW with us (imagine that!). *sigh* She asked me the other day if Disney employees get a break on weddings. Well, at least she's thinking ahead, right?

We got word on the knee this morning - she has surgery Monday to repair the meniscis. Oh, boy!

Oh no!! Sorry to hear that.

Will it be a scope kind of surgery where it will be an outpatient kind of thing? Or will it be an "under the knife" kind of surgery?

Hopefully, they can just scope it out and recovery time will only be a couple of weeks.

YM - she has a strained ACL, thinks all is ok there other than that. Outpatient at St. Francis BA

Lin - Arthroscopic, thank God!! 2, maybe 3 little incisions depending on what he does once he's in.

Guess I should have just read a little farther.

Good luck to you as well. Surgery is very stressfull no matter the situation.

2X- I hope you get better soon. Good luck at your Drs appts. I watch DWTS. I love Joey!!! I was sad to see Clyde go home because he's from Houston too, but I think he needed to go.

Lin- I think I need to go work for Disney to get the wedding discount! I like the dresses! I like the same one as you and Erin. Other than that, none impressed me too much.

Someone here at work is getting fired today. He started his own carpet cleaning company behind our backs. This is the 3rd time it's happened in 4 years.

that is so awesome!! I heard about the "disney dreams" being enhanced...but Timon and Pumbaa on board I gotta go see them. The Lion King is my favorite THANK YOU so much for posting that!!! I want to go!!!! I saw them putting the guest on the jumbotron at our sail away party. it was so cool!!! Ahhh you made my day I think we need to go check this out to be sure ... its a business expense now...right?

Good morning all! My boss is due to arrive in town any minute now... oh there she is. Time to look busy!

Amber: I am in shock about your uncle. You hear about these things but it's always somehow worse when it hits close to home. He is a smart man, to use his arm to deflect the wounds. And a lucky man, that that girl was there in time to call the police. So glad to see he's expected to be fine.

2x: Nice to see you again! That's great news about finding a new doctor, I wish you luck. I know it can be hard to start over with someone new. I'm contemplating switching pain specialists and I haven't made the call yet because I'm afraid I won't like the new guy, and won't be able to go back to the old guy - because seeing someone else would break the contract I signed with him. I keep waffling on the decision, but ultimately I think it would be in my best interest to switch.

Linda: Oct 2008, huh? Looks like Mike is onto your tricks this time! You'll have to try some new ones... perhaps red & lacy would do the trick?


Last night I was playing a kissing game with Emma, where I ask her if I can kiss her someplace specific (cheek, nose, etc.) and she sticks it out for me. When I got to forehead she ignored me. I thought maybe she didn't know the word, so I asked her, "Where is your forehead?" Her answer: "Right here in front of my hairy head."

I took a few pictures of Oreo last night and it turns out he is a little diva with the camera! My camera has a little green light that goes on before the flash, it's supposed to eliminate redey but doesn't really work. After the first couple pictures, as soon as that green light came on he would run right over and peer into it! I'll have the pictures up soon, I just need to get them into Photobucket first.
