So after we did our little fireworks last night, Emma asked, "Can we go see the fireworks now?" I explained that those were it, and she got upset and wanted to see the BIG fireworks. So my parents packed up the kids in the car and it was off to the Burger King parking lot to watch the fireworks and make a quick escape, and then have them sleep over at their house. Yay for me, a quiet night alone! Not to be... 20 seconds later they came back and unloaded a tearful Emma - she wanted her Mommy and wanted to sleep at home. Ok, so now they are just taking Lyzzie to the fireworks. As soon as they drove off, Emma started crying, "I want my sister back!" There is just no winning with that girl. I, being the resourcful parent that I am, stopped her tears with ice cream and Benadryl and she was fine.
So then this morning I slept in, because my mom told me at LEAST 5 times yesterday that she would come over in the morning. I woke up to the sound of my phone across the house - whoops I missed 4 calls from Mom. "Where are you?" Uh-oh, she forgot to tell me that the plan changed and I was supposed to bring Emma over - not happening. She finally showed up, Emma was still in bed and I was ready to go... no Lyzzie! I also forgot my car was on E and I was out of milk, so off to the Quik Trip on the way to work. Oh, and Emma woke up with a Morning Surprise rolling out of her pullup. Lovely. Everything turned out ok, but it was quite the hectic morning. I get to work, and am told that my boss might be coming in today, but nobody seems to know - seems she told one person she is, and another that she isn't.
Over the weekend you may remember my car got all wet from a leaky water bottle. I got it all dried out, and lo and behold the car was all wet again yesterday, just under the passenger side front & back. I'm talking SOAKED. I pulled out a pair of socks that must have weighed a pound from all the water. Now I know it was dry, and there are no more water bottles in the car, so this is a mystery. My parents seem to think it's an a/c problem but my dad can't find the line he suspected was leaking. I of course know nothing about a car besides you get in, turn the key and drive. Dad's solution: "I think I found it but I want it to dry out, so don't use your a/c for a couple weeks." Yeah right, not in THIS weather. I just hope he can fix it, I really can't afford car repairs right now. The car does get sluggish in the heat and takes a while to get going, so it really does need to be looked at, but I want it to wait until AFTER WDW!!
