2x2s, glad you were able to drop by.

As for the AP's: You can either buy a one day ticket to qualify for the meal plan or buy the amount of days you are going to be there (I would just do the one day ticket). When you get to WDW, you just go to guest relations and upgrade to an AP (you pay the difference). You will then have an AP starting then.

thanks Amber!!! Do you know how this affects future trips if we wanted to do the dining plan?? Would I have to purchase another "one day" again in order to get the dining plan, along with already having an AP??

Hi 2x. Congrats on your trip! I'm staying at the Poly in December the same time as Linda- I am so so excited!! It's my first time ever staying there.

Ash---it has been such a long time since I've stayed there-----at least, well, let's see-----this will be embarrassing to admit-----about 20++ years. :rolleyes1 I'm really excited too. I'm sure you will love it, especially since you love 'Ohana so much. Just being in the atmosphere is wonderful. Not to mention being that close to MK and hearing all of the sounds too-----train, steamboat, etc.
:cool1:

I am so excited for you!! I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour years ago and had the best time. I loved learning all the behind the scenes stuff. You guys know about me and trivia;)

So, are you saying that after the tour we should have a competition?? Aww, who am I kiddin'------you'd still win.:lmao:

Thanks for the advice on the Poly!! I typoed this morning and meant to post that our stay was from 7-31 to 8-3. I'm afraid a split stay would drive Gary crazy, since we'll be moving from Universal RPH on July 31st. Nathan wants to stay at The Wilderness Lodge and since it's his vacation, too, I guess I'll probably keep things the way they are. I guess I made too big of a deal over the bunk beds and the cool pool!!:rolleyes1
I need to learn to spell monorail. M O N O R A I L!!! There!!!

Too funny about you talking your boys into WL-------you will love it!!!!! Just tell yourself next time will be at the Poly. Hey, it's a thought.;)

Hi UNDERDOG!!!!! I'm sure you've been serving up some mighty fine snacks while I was absent. How have you been??

sporadically Since you asked. :lmao: Sorry, I try so hard to let the spelling nazi part of me lie low around here, but if I do correct anyone, please know I'm only trying to be helpful, not criticizing!

:lmao: :lmao:
yeah, yeah (j/k)---what would we do without the spelling nazi??

Emma slept in the car all the way to the store, and was very crabby until we were done shopping. I asked her if she wanted to look at toys and she said, "No, I HATE toys!"

ooh, she was in a mood, wasn't she?? I can't imagine any child saying this. Hopefully she cheered up a bit.

So I went to the podiatrist today for that thing on my toe. He now no longer thinks it's a wart (I knew that 2.5 months ago). He has no idea what it is, but my pinky toe is red & swollen and VERY sore. He wants me to try an antibiotic for a couple weeks and then he suggested outpatient surgery to remove the lump - he said he'll have to put me under general because he can tell I won't tolerate surface numbing. I wholeheartedly agree, I do NOT numb well at all. I'm terrified, and afraid I waited too long to go back. About 7 years ago I had a growth on my finger that was a similar situation, dermotologist thought it was a wart but it didn't respond to usual treatment, biopsied and it grew back, took it off and still didn't know what it was. Diagnosed as a "fibrous mass" but thankfully didn't come back a third time after surgery. I'm thinking I got another one of those on my toe. I just hope it doesn't affect walking at WDW! Gotta have my priorities straight, right? ;)

It's scary when the foot doctor doesn't know what is wrong with my foot. It's getting very painful to wear shoes, but I don't want surgery, even outpatient. Wish me luck! What are the chances that a pharmacy will be open tomorrow? Darn, and I had one of those coupons for a $25 gift card at Target with a new Rx, but it expired yesterday. Figures.

hmm, this doesn't sound good. Was the growth on your finger red and swollen also?? I would definitely get the infection down. I can't imagine how you are walking with it. I know it's easy for me to say, but I wouldn't worry about the surgery-----I would just want to get it taken care of.
I know the grocery stores are open tomorrow, so maybe the pharmacy will be too-------get on that anitibiotic ASAP, girl!!!! (that's momma hen talking)

I think it's beddy bye time---------good night!!!

2x (or should I say Momma Hen?): If you have an AP and still want to get the DDP in the future, yes you will need to do the 1-day-MYW ticket thing. I understand you can put the unused 1-day ticket value towards an AP renewal as long as you are in the parks within 30 days of your AP expiring, I think it's 30 days before or after so it actually gives you a 2-month window. With all the DDP changes rumored, it might *gasp!* not even be worth getting the DDP next year. I think the AP is definitely worth it though if you plan on 2 or more trips within 12 months, the freedom of not having to count days is great, and the AP room-only discounts are pretty darn good too! And you get discounts on a ton of other stuff - mine has paid for itself already with September being my 3rd trip on it, and I really want to squeeze in one more in 2008 before it expires! Oh, and if you're on the DDP when you upgrade to an AP, no problem, it won't affect your current DDP package. Does all that make sense? Is your head spinning like Linda Blair yet? I try to explain this stuff to my parents who are SO money-conscious, and their eyes just glaze over like mine do when they start talking mortgage rates and stock market talk.

See that's the thing... my finger thingy way back when was not red and swollen, just looked like a hard little pea under the skin. This seems the same, but I think it's the cream he's got me using that made it all red. It's some sort of chemo in a cream and it numbs up the toe really good, which is how I can still walk. It also keeps making a new blister that peels off, but underneath is still just not right. TMI?? I am just full of tiny little medical mysteries. I watch those Mystery Diagnosis shows and I swear that's as bad as diagnosing yourself via Google. I have all these weird little symptoms (red toe, finger lump, stubborn back pain, swollen feet, cloudy eye) and I think they must be related and all part of some obscure deadly disease, and why oh WHY couldn't anyone put all the pieces together?? I'm such a dork.

Well it's hoot time for this dork. Have a great 4th everyone!!

Hi everyone!!!

'Why is Ashley posting at 4 in the morning???" I'm sure you are all asking yourselves....Why else...Because of Ruby. :sad2:

Tonight, (or should I say last night) Jeremiah came to me and asked (kind of meanly I should add:rolleyes1 ) if I ate all the Reese's peanut butter minatures. Well I'm sure you can see where this is going!!! NO, I hadn't, I only had a couple.

Well, tonight before we went for dinner we were talking about possibly seeing a movie. I thought "well if we are seeing a movie I'll bring these reese's minature cups, they charge too much at the movie theater" (gotta save for the Poly yanno :teacher: ) ANYWAY, since Jeremiah got me that new Vera Bradley bag- I don't carry around the HUGE one that I've been using lately. So I decided I would wait until we came home from dinner to put it in my bag. BIG MISTAKE.

Instead of putting it in the pantry where it goes (BAD ASHLEY) I put it on the counter. Well apparently, Miss Ruby  knocked it down from the counter, (she stood up on her hind legs on the top of the couch to do this!!!) and ate the WHOLE BAG and ALL THE WRAPPERS too.....

ANYWAYS- Jeremiah doesn't notice this until about 11pm. Why these things only happen when the vet is closed, I'll never know. I thought it was ok at first because they don't have alot of chocolate- mostly peanut butter. But Ruby starts getting very hyper :dance3: (this is her) and then starts having a weird tick when she runs around!!!(think her head jerking to the side)

Lyzziesmom, I am a horribly Googler too, I will admit it and I googled these symptoms. Things weren't looking good.: She was showing symtoms of chocolate poisioning. So we had to go to the emergency vet. Long story short, (yeah right, this is already a novel) she needed IV fluids which they put on the skin in her back, (she now resembles a Camel, her hump is huge and I'm not kidding!!!) and they gave her that charcoal stuff. (Which she promptly puked all over my white carpet as soon as she got home- NUMEROUS times- thank God for Oxi Clean.) She did throw up some wrappers and chocolate- thats the good news. Bad news is she can't have water until the morning and she is SCREAMING at the top of her lungs for it. :sad1: I feel bad but when I snuck her some she promptly threw it back up:scared:

If you guys thought she was spoiled before- we now for 3 days have to make her some special 'bland' food consisting of chicken and rice!!! What a lucky duck, eating all my chocolate and getting gourmet dinners:rolleyes1

ANYWAY, now I'm all wired and awake and Ruby is too. She is hyper from all the sugar in her system the vet said!!!! So...I hope I can fall asleep soon!!!

Happy 4th of July everybody!!!

Ashley... I'm glad Ruby is ok, wow...she can sure get into some doosies can't she:rolleyes1

2x...hey there stranger:grouphug: its so good to see you!!! I'm so excited you get a Poly trip too:woohoo: sounds like the hard part is scheduling it w/work:guilty: if you backed your trip up a few days, will they approve that for you? I'd rather get it approved now than have a shorter trip or a boss w/an attitude...as if I ever have the choice of my boss not having an attitude:lmao: good luck! Halloween at wdw would be cool!! or...you could always come at Christmas:flower3:

lyzziesmom...thanks, I'm going to have to check out those ringtones! I have a Lion King one right now but Pirates sounds cool!!!

Lesa...good luck w/the tink room...I bet it will be cute! love the pix too!!

Donna...yeah, I bet Nathan will love the WL for the bunks and pool...the Poly isn't going anywhere;)

Ashley I hope you get some rest today!!

YM I hope you get to feeling better! :grouphug:

I hope everyone has a Fantastic 4th!! :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

/
Good Morning everyone...:goodvibes

Looks like it's going to rain here today. I hope they still have fireworks:)

Please have a Safe and Happy 4th of July:thumbsup2

Good morning, Crew!!! I found a little something that looked really yummy!!!

Ashley:: Sorry to hear about Ruby! Good thing you got her to the Vet. I love Reese's cups, too, but I usuallly get them unwrapped first!!(barely)
Hopefully you'll catch up on your sleep today and Miss Ruby will learn to stay our of YOUR candy!!!:goodvibes

2x2s:: Oooh......I'm sorry for the vacation schedule problems. I would probably check into going the week before or after?? The Food and Wine Festival goes through Nov.11th. I guess you would have to reschedule you Keys to the Kingdom Tour?? It gets complicated, doesn't it??
I'm in agreement with the others on the DDP. You would have to get a one day tic for future visits. I've been looking into the Disney Dining Experience card. I think the cost is about $65 and is good for 20% off your meals, etc.

Linda:: I know............the Poly will be there when I'm ready!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: Next year I'll try to keep my mouth shut until I find all of the resort discounts!! :rolleyes1
December at the Poly?? Don't I wish!!!!:cloud9:

Lesa:: I just noticed that Britanny is about as tall as you, isn't she?? When did that happen??
I think you have the same VB bag as I do. I found a 25% off sale last weekend and bought that one and the Hope Toile small hobo bag, too.

It cloudy here right now. We were supposed to go to my Sis's house later to swim. I have ribeyes defrosting in the fridge and I'm ready for a cook-out!!

My ex-stepnephew (long story) took off to Tampa last Saturday to visit a friend. My poor 78 year-old mother gets a phone call from him on Saturday night after he's landed and asks her if she can watch his 8 year-old son for the week because the boy's mother is in jail (for possession) and nephew's current girlfriend has things she need to do this week. (Like pack up to leave him, I suspect. )

Anyway, she agrees to this and the mother of his oldest daughter (he has 4 kids by 3 different women, btw) brings the child by at 10am on Sunday morning. Gary and I decided a LONG tiome ago to stay out of this drama, so my sister is watching the boy for a couple of days to give my mom a rest.

I really don't know exactly where this story was going, I guess I'm just thankful I don't have a houseguest??:confused3 I think my sis kept waiting for me to volunteer to watch him, but this is her ex-stepson's child and I really don't feel obligated to be the babysitter.:sad2:

It's really a shame because Colton and Nathan are just a couple of months apart, but they just don't get along very well at all.
That's my family drama for the week....

Have a Happy 4th everyone!!!

Does anyone remember what special event happened on July 5th, 2006??:rolleyes1

Something like this:
111_0144.jpg

We just love our Tink playroom! The colors are scary at first, but they really work nicely together. The purple dries a lot lighter than it goes on, and the green tones down a bit too once it's dry.
Yep, that's the one! Except she is insisting on the purple on top and green on bottom. She also wants a blue ceiling!:scared: I told her after the Disney trip I can only afford 2 gallons of paint!:rolleyes1 :lmao: Oh and she wants me to paint a mural of the castle on the wall!:rotfl2: She has this room all planned out.

uuugh, I'm so upset, I could spit (well, not really spit, but.....ya know):lmao:

I requested the Tuesday and Wednesday as vacation days in November for the Poly trip and was reluctantly given the Wednesday due to another one of the girls in the spa already being off due to a vacation. But, it still leaves two people per shift, which I have worked many times ALONE in the spa and nothing is said------last week, in fact, due to the boss girl's "mistake" (she accidentally took one of the girls completely off of the books instead of just letting her leave an hour early as she requested--------and both of them didn't seem to notice until it was too late to book any clients-----WHATEVER!!! ) Anyway, when I asked for the Tuesday and Wednesday as vacations days, she had to "think about it"------and finally approved it, given I find coverage for my shift on Tuesday (everyone is already on the books for Wed., except for myself and the other girl on vacation).
So, here is where the problem comes in------I was talking to the other girl who will be on vacation on that same Wednesday---------she made a mistake and told them the wrong dates-----she needs TUESDAY also!!! They are so "by the books lately"----they are never going to go for that!!!!! She already has airline tickets (she and her husband are going to the Keys for his birthday with another couple). AND I just spent all weekend on the phone with WDW making plans. My mom is in charge of the flight and I know she has some seats on hold for us, if she hasn't booked them already.

So, if you were me, would you keep the plans as is (Fri.-Wed.), or try to change them to earlier in the week----like the previous Wed. (which would be Halloween) through Monday?? I just feel so bad for the other girl on vacation because she knows it was her mistake, but there is no way they are going to approve of both of us being off at the same time.

Sorry for the rant, but I am just a bit confused and so in a "mood" right now.:lmao:
No spitting allowed!;) I would try to move it maybe a few days earlier if possible. I would hate for you to find out that you can't get the days off and the stress of waiting is not worth it. A trip during Halloween might be fun.

BAD Ruby!!! I'm glad she is o.k. She must have at least 9 lives because hasn't she used up about 7 of them now?:rolleyes1 Doesn't it make you so made when they do everything after the vet closing? It ends up costing at least 4xs as much.:sad2:

Better get back to the Tink room. Madison is getting anxious for it to be done!;)

Lesa:: I just noticed that Britanny is about as tall as you, isn't she?? When did that happen??

You mean this one?:rolleyes1 Michele and I both bought the same one, we seem to have this bad habit of showing up in the same clothes and accessories, so we have to be really careful of what we show up together wearing. ;) I actually had 2 of the tops she brought, but luckily I left them at home in my "I have to many tops packed" pile.;)
DisneyWorldJune2007016.jpg

Brittany has grown like a weed the last few months. She has a shoe size bigger than mine. We took over the paper work yesterday to sign her up for cheerleading and the coach took one look at her and said "WOW, you are getting tall, you'll be perfect for a back spotter!" Brittany was not thrilled because she hates back spotting. :upsidedow

YIKES! The kind of family drama you want to stay far far away from.:scared:

Happy 4th everyone!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Donna - ooh! breakfast cake! It looks marvelous! Sorry to hear about your family drama... hopefully you can remain staying out of it - sounds like the boy doesn't need to be staying with his mother anyway - poor kid. And....... yes, I know what's special about July 5th! I was just thinking about it yesterday!

Lyzziesmom - oh, your toe sounds so painful!! I hope for your sake, too, that you get done and healed before your trip! That would make for one not fun WDW trip! Thanks for that link - I'm going to go check it out. One can never have enough Disney ringtones, IMO. One for every mood!

Lesa - sounds like she's got that room all planned out - too bad they never take into consideration the cost.... I'm sure it'll be great when you get done with it.

2X - what a mess!!! Yeah, go earlier if you can - if it's looking like you're not going to be able to get that time off.

Ashley - what a night!!! That's so scary, when the 'kids' get sick - puppy pixie dust to Miss Ruby - I hope she's feeling better today - and you too, get some sleep!

Morning, Underdog!

For a change it's not raining here, the pool is crystal clear, and DH has a pork shoulder on the Hasty Bake smoking for pulled pork later today!! See you guys in however long it takes you to get here!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Lesa-Have fun painting the Tink room! ;)

Ashley- Poor Ruby! I hope she gets better soon. No more Reese's for Ruby!

2X- I hope something can be worked out and you can get the time off you need!:wizard:

Donna- I'm sorry to hear about your family drama.

Lyzziesmom- Your poor toe! Hopefully you'll get it healed before your trip!

I bought a dress for my dad's party nexy week, it is goldish. I just need to return the one I bought a few weeks ago and I can't find the reciept. :confused3 I also bought a new camera. It's a Sony Cybershot S650.

Have a great day!

Ashley: BAD RUBY! I hope she's' learned her lesson, but being a dog I somehow doubt it.

Donna: That's some serious drama! Where's Jerry Springer when you need him? :confused3 That's part of the reason I moved away from FL, it wasn't family drama but the group of friends I ended up with made that stuff look like child's play. There was always some major crisis, and I was known as the patient, level-headed, "Normal" one. :rolleyes1 6 years later I still hear the gossip and it hasn't gotten any better. Good luck staying out of that one!

Home Depot sells (or at least they used to sell) a wallpaper mural of the castle. We have it in our Princess room and you really can hardly tell it's not handpainted. It's about $20.00 and gorgeous. I really wish we would have painted our ceilings, they do kind of ruin the theme look of the rooms. A blue ceiling would be nice as long as you keep it pale, and maybe sponge-paint some nice white fluffy clouds on it. Hmmmm, I'm getting some ideas!

How cute is that??

Lyzziesmom- Your poor toe! Hopefully you'll get it healed before your trip!

I bought a dress for my dad's party nexy week, it is goldish. I just need to return the one I bought a few weeks ago and I can't find the reciept. :confused3

Thanks, I hope the toe gets better, I keep having horrible nightmares of it needing to be removed and then I can never wear cute shoes again! Oh the horror! :scared1:

I can't find my receipt for the stuff I bought at TDS for my parents, on Mom's credit card. I put it someplace special -- the best way to lose something. I know it was on my desk, and then I think I moved it but I have turned the house upside and emptied my purse twice, and nothing. I feel so bad, because she missed out on the window for a price adjustment because of my ditziness, and now we have one extra men's shirt that we need to return. I hope TDS will take it back without a receipt, or that we can use the receipt for the other size to return the XL one. I hope you find your receipt, did you buy it from a store that can track your purchases through your card? I know Target can do that, and I think more places are starting to use that system.

We went to the parade this morning and it was fun but HOT. :scared: I thought about taking the kids to Worlds of Fun just to walk around & ride some kiddie rides, but it's way too hot for that today. We settled for Blockbuster and a smoothie. Lyzzie picked out Cinderella III so we will be watching that later, and I'll probably nap whether I want to or not.

Happy 4th of July!

Hey lyzziesmom...I was trying to follow you on upgrading your pass. If you by the one day ticket would you need to add the "no expiration" date? Then take the ticket and use the cost toward another annual pass when the window opens? Also, I was thinking about upgrading my 7 day pass in December to an annual pass. Do you go to guest services and pay the difference only?

Happy Fourth of July!

Hey Lesa...I noticed how tall Brittany was too. I'm really enjoying your picutres! That is a great family shot!

Michele...Lilly kind of got lost on the huge couch!;) Keep those pics coming!

Hey 2xcited...how are you, Puppet? I see you have some good news...POLY in November.:woohoo:  :dance3: I would think one day out of the year they could handle having both of you guys off. I would talk to the boss lady now and see what her intentions are before everything is set...or is that too late?

Donna...I just realized that with the bunks you will have an extra bed!:rolleyes1 I'm sure your family would love me and I won't mind sleeping on the bottom bunk (I know the kids like the top bunk).:thumbsup2

Ashley...I'm so sorry about Ruby. With her being so little I'm sure it can be very dangerous with the chocolate. Sophie eats the wrappers too. She ate a popcarn ball the other day and threw it up but outside...thank goodness. Hope she is feeling better today. Oh...since I haven't been on in a few days...cagrats on the Poly ressies!!:dance3:

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm feeling a little better. :surfweb:

Oh my gosh do you have the same purse??? That is too funny! As Lesa said we end up with the same stuff ALL the time!!:lmao:

Stay far away from all the family drama! Your poor mom.

I give up, I can't remember what happened...tell me please:confused:

Yep, that's the one! Except she is insisting on the purple on top and green on bottom. She also wants a blue ceiling!:scared: I told her after the Disney trip I can only afford 2 gallons of paint!:rolleyes1 :lmao: Oh and she wants me to paint a mural of the castle on the wall!:rotfl2: She has this room all planned out

Well get busy!!:rotfl2: What were you thinking starting this as soon as you got home??:confused3

I'm glad to hear that you got Britty signed up for cheer, I remember her well, whining about it when we were in FL.

Love the picture!! It is usually hot here for the 4th no matter what the weather before and after but today it is quite chilly and overcast. Our town has a big celebration for the 4th. This is the 1st year I have not gone to the parade. It's only a block and a half walk to the parade. The first few minutes are just fire trucks from surrounding cities making a racket, Bree waited until we could hear that they were done before she walked Lilly up there to meet with some friends. Blake, Nick and I walked over to the City Park for the Craft area and the fair. It was interesting, we walked thru and now we are done for the year!!

I hope your toe gets better.

Ashley...Poor Ruby!! I hope everything has calmed down at your house!

Happy 4th of July!!

When we went in August we were on the dining plan and had decided to upgrade to an AP. When we checked in we told them NOT to add our tickets to our room keys. So we had a separate ticket for everyone. Then we had to do the upgrade at Guest Services at one of the parks. They just apply what your ticket is worth to the cost of the AP.

It was explained to me that if we were to do that again while we still had our APs that we should just buy the 1 day ticket minimum that they require, which do not expire, and hold them until we need to buy passes again.

I did find something out for the Feb trip. I had booked our room using an AP discount. If I had wanted to add the DDP to the room we wouldn't have been allowed to use the AP discount. So I would have had to pay for the DDP plus more per night for the room. That would be the reason we didn't have the DDP for that trip!!

We bought the DDE for this trip and it worked well. Since we were such a large group all of our meals had the 18% gratuity added in, so we just looked at it like the tip was free.

Oh my gosh do you have the same purse??? That is too funny! As Lesa said we end up with the same stuff ALL the time!!:lmao:

Why would painting as soon as I got home be any different than having say.....carpet, flooring and patio door installed the week I am leaving?:confused3 :rolleyes1 I like to live on the edge!;) :rotfl2:

I signed up both Britt and Maddie for Cheer. I had to kiss $390 goodbye and in 2 weeks I need to write another check for $120!:scared1: I swear if they complain once about going to practice I am going to kick their butts!!!:headache:

I am taking a little break from painting. David got a call from one of our friends, he was taking his boys fishing and wanted to know if him and Maddie would like to go. He jumped at the chance to get out of painting.

Oops gotta run, they're back and I've got to see what they caught!
