Anyone have experience with bringing alcohol onboard on a B2B cruise? Our Dreams TA was told by DCL that we are allowed to bring the allotment onboard for both cruises at the beginning of the first cruise. My hubby called DCL before we heard back from our TA and was told we cannot bring more than the allotment for the first cruise.
I figured they would hold the extra alcohol until we embarked for cruise #2? :drinking1

Excess alcohol at embarkation is disposed of and not held. The only time they hold alcohol is when it's purchased in a port of call and is outside the normal alcohol policy. So you can still bring on the allotted beer or wine in a port, although you may not find your preferred drink of choice. While shoreside is not always up to speed on policy, they are more likely to be on target with something common like alcohol.

We are doing a B2B on Royal I was told they would hold your wine for the next cruise. I'm surprised DCL doesn't. You know you can buy wine and beer in port and bring it on. They do have liquor stores in Nassau.

I don't have a definitive answer, but I wouldn't bank on them accepting the allotment for both cruises. The ones who are enforcing the alcohol policy are the security screeners, who (as far as I can tell) don't have the ability to tell if you're sailing on a back to back or not.

As PP noted, any excess alcohol (or that not in compliance with the policy) is not held for you and you'll be asked to dump it (or take it back to your car, if applicable.

I wouldn't count on being allowed to bring double onboard at the first embarkation. You can buy more in port if you'd like. Also, if you buy a wine package onboard it can be used across both cruises -- your MDR servers will take care of holding it for you from the 1st cruise to the 2nd. Maybe that's the message that got confused?

That’s not true, we sailed on the Fantasy out of Rome for a med cruise this summer and I had bought some limoncello while we were there and they were able to check it for us on embarkation and we picked it up on the last morning of the cruise just like you would if you bought it in port.

Excess beer or wine over the embarkation limit is destroyed. I believe they hold any liquor until debarkation since it isn’t allowed.

What I said was true. It may not have been your experience, which would have been the more polite way to phrase that by the way, but it is true per their policy as lanejudy posted.
