personally, I'm glad the wand is coming down. I don't hate it, but it's just an addition I've never really liked. The hat, I like, but I agree, I don't like where it IS - I like seeing the theater, too.

As far as the castle, I liked the gold on it and would have liked to see some of it stay. I thought the mirror on the front was gaudy, and if they'd left ALL the gold it was a bit much. But I really liked the little gold characters, like Peter Pan & friends flying around the castle, and was sorry to see them go.

I agree with you about the castle. I liked the gold characters. Didn't like the mirror.

I only saw Dallas in TX I thought it was so awesome! I was going to drive the 3 hrs to go to Detroit until I heard they were coming to Cleveland

Hi Bonnie!! Nope, I've never been to Splashdown waterpark...It is very close to my house though, about 5 minutes away! How was it? Was it crowded?? I've always wanted to go there- but want to go when its not too packed!!

Thats awesome about Dick, even though he scares me! This season is going to be wierd, I love the Alice in Wonderland house though!!!!! So far there isn't really anyone I feel drawn too.

I am so glad excited to get to see Lion King. Julie Taymor, who directed and did the costume/puppet design for the show, was the first female to win Best Director of a Musical at the Tony Awards for Lion King. I keep missing the tour and this is the first time I am actually going to around to see it. In fact, Nicole, come to Dallas! You and Steven can go to Lion King with Chris and I! Your dress is very pretty! Remind me again, what is your dads party for?

I am glad the wand is coming off the Epcot ball. While I liked it for the Millenium celebration I think it needed to come down when the celebration was over. Past that it became an un-necessary addition and I don't believe in doing anything without a conrete and readable reason (scenically that is). I feel the same with the Sorcerer's Hat at MGM.

I'm nervous for my test results tomorrow! I'm supposed to call the principle as soon as I get them, but I have to work at 1:30. Hopefully they will come in before then, and hopefully I passed!!!! I feel a little sick to my stomach over it.

There is so much I want to say, but this dial-up is driving me crazy. It just took me over and hour and a half to read two days worth of posts.
This is FOR THE BIRDS!!!

Anyway, some highlights---


Miss Betts----that is some family drama!!!! I don't think I would volunteer my babysitting time either, especially if he and Nathan don't get along very well.
That was fun reading our first posts to our thread. I had forgotten how it all began.


Michele----I read your DeVine post and literally said----out loud-----"NO WAY!!!" I'm not sure who I thought was listening, but, oh well. That is soooo cool!!!! I would have squealed too. She is beautiful. I would love to do the make-up for DeVine!!!!
I wonder how many DeVines they have. The one we saw in Feb. was of African-American decent (??sp), wasn't she?? She was so graceful, too!!! I wonder what kind of background/training they have.


Lyzziesmom----cute pics of the girls at the parade. I love the one with Emma's sort-of profile holding the flag. They both look cute with their Americana barrettes and WDW sunglasses.

Well, I caved and changed our dates to Oct. 31 thru Nov. 5. I'm a bit concerned about the crowds on Halloween. Anyone been on the actual day?? We will fly in that day, so no parks, most likely DTD or resort hopping. I'm afraid DTD will be packed.
Thank goodness I was able to get our ADR's switched around and the Keys tour. For some reason, I feel like we will have a bit more time since we will arrive earlier in the day instead of later that evening. We reserved MK view at Poly. I keep bugging my mom to tell my dad, but she's afraid he will want to go along, then we would have to get two rooms instead of just one------which then, will NOT be MK view at Poly since we would definitely have to break the bank. I feel bad that she hasn't even told him yet, though.

We were there on Halloween a few years ago and I don't recall the crowds being bad at all. We took the kids to the MNSSHP that night and had a great time. You will have a great time, it's a lovely time of year to go!

I just got home a little while ago. We went to the Toby Keith concert. It was really good...I didn't know that I knew any of his songs ( if that makes sense ) But he puts on a great show. Some girl named Miranda something opened for him, she was good,but her part was shortened.

Some friends of ours took us tonight as a payback, we took them to Seger in Dec. He had won the package at a silent auction. 4 tickets to any show at DTE Energy Music Theater. plus VIP parking Plus buffet dinner for 4 before the concert. He got all this for $100!! He was the only one who bid on it. The tickets were $74.50 EACH!!!

We get there around 6 for dinner and have a terrific buffet dinner. The dining area is outside with portions under cover. We were done eating and just relaxing, having a few drinks and waiting until closer to show time. All of a sudden it starts to rain...we move under cover and wait it out. Well it started pouring, thunder, lightning the works. Well this is an open air theater!! All these poor people who have come early to claim their spot on the hill are soaked!!

About 15 minutes later...the power goes out, flickers, then goes out completly!! Eventually the skies cleared, it was a beautiful night but still no power. Every one gets seated, we are all just waiting...still no power. Show was supposed to start at 7:30 at 9 a guy from the radio station sponsoring the concert stands on the stage, cups his hands around his mouth and starts hollering. He actually says if you can hear me pass this information back He says they are bringing in a generator and hope to have the show. At 10 they start powering up the generators when the power comes back on. They are supposed to stop all shows by 11 so not to completely piss off the neighbors but tonight they played til midnight.

The funniest part of the night was the irony. The theater is owned by DTE Energy...the local power company!! And they had NO Power and no generator on site!!

Now I have to go to iTunes and download some of his stuff

Sounds like you had fun at the concert last night. Sorry for the storm; pretty ironic the the building owned by the power company didn't have a clue about emergency generators.

Woo-Hoo!! MK view at the Poly!!! Could your mom explain to your dad that this will be a mother/daughter trip? It's really wonderful that your dad likes WDW, too, but maybe he could join you the next time.
Have you checked into the high-speed yet? Seriously...if you have SBC or whatever as your phone provider; there is usually a package deal that is really reasonable. I think I've seen it advertised for about 14.99 a month. PLEASE check into it!!! It doesn't cost anything to at least ask!!
