Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

Hey, you didn't do anything all the rest of us moms haven't done - sometimes it seems like kids just don't appreciate anything - and that's SO frustrating!

It's been a pretty good weekend - yesterday Erin and I went to our friends' daughter's birthday party - she's 2. It was nice! One of my best friends just got back on Friday from Advanced Space Camp in Huntsville, and she was there, so we did a little catching up.
She had to do a day in a scuba tank (pool) for Advanced Space Camp, and she LOVED it - she's going to get her certification. We're already planning on doing the Epcot dive together.
Last night Erin worked, and I just hung out - and swam for about an hour last night - laps.

Today's just been laundry, another 60 laps (about 650 yards) in the pool, and dinner at Los Cabos. (after that meal, I need to do another 60 laps...)

Pozey - you went to TDS today? Erin said she learned to do returns today - did she help you? (her name tag still hasn't come in - she was 'Amanda' today.) She LOVES her job. She's restless - her DBF is in Mexico for almost 2 weeks on a mission trip, so she's glad to be putting in lots of hours.

OH! did I tell you guys?? Remember me telling you about that travel client - a party of 10 - that went to WDW? (the ones that waited till the last minute to get their ADRs). They sent me flowers this week! The most beautiful, huge arrangement arrived at my house Wednesday - it's gorgeous! They really enjoyed their trip.

Back to work tomorrow - but a short week!
sorry Dznyfan...I missed your post last night. Sounds like you were quite busy too! I wish we had a pool:cloud9: I'd be in much better shape.
they sent you flowers!! Aww that is so sweet!
Erin did Pozeys return!! how cool!!! Happy Birthday to the 2 yr oldprincess: I bet that was a lot of fun!!

Linda: Wow sounds like you had a busy weekend. I totally understand about the sleeping in the lazyboy. I lived in my recliner when I was pregnant - the poor thing tilts to the side because I'd roll onto my side in my sleep! That's where my back problems started though... ugh. My brother has the recliner now. I need to go to work to relax tomorrow too! Might not be too relaxing though, I think my boss is coming and it's review time. Yikes!
last night I took a few Tylenol pm and slept so good:yay:
I can relate about being totally stressed, taking care of the kids by yourself..well, I only have ONE...which does make it so much easier. He can't fight and bicker w/anyone else, thank goodness. It does make it much easier when there is someone else that is really there for you and does help. I can't believe the difference w/Mike in our lives.:cloud9: I thank god for him every day! Seriously!!!

When I finally get a chance to go read what everyone is talking about- the thread is closed!!

We just ordered Chili's to go for dinner. We shouldn't be eating this late but we took a nap and didn't get up until 8:30:rolleyes1 We better enjoy it now, because I think after we have kids the napping days are over!
they closed it:eek: I'll have to check that out later. yeah, its much harder to get naps after kids! I still make Kenny take a nap, but I can see it won't be much longer. Probably once school starts, the naps will be over unless he wants one on the weekend.

Linda - what a weekend! I don't blame you for piling up on the recliner! Get those knees feeling better, soon!

Lyzziesmom - I agree w/ Ashley - I really liked Stranger Than Fiction - we thought it was really good.
Thanks... I think they should be all better in another day or so. I must really be out of shape:rolleyes1

Hey everyone!

I am exhausted! I helped Steven's family move and am so tired and sore! I've never worked so hard in my life! ;)

Ashley- He just got me some flowers.
Linda- You were very busy! That's great you found someone who wants the duplex!
I feel your pain!!!! Hope you have a good weekend this weekend to celebrate your anniversary!! Now that I have great renters on both sides and making $$$ I don't think I want to get rid of it:woohoo:

Good morning, Cliqueless DISers!! :yay: How is everyone this lovely day?

I'm a bit under the weather, so I'm staying home from work today. I'm only working part time this summer anyway. Is anyone up and about yet?

Hey, does anyone have a pic of Kona cafe's famous Tonga Toast? I had it once, 6 years ago, and it was delish, except for the slimy bananas, which I picked out. :teeth:

Haveaniceday.jpg
Hope you get to feeling better:hug:

This IS for You: Hope your feeling better. :)

Enjoy

TongaToast.jpg
oh thank you. I can't wait to have some in Dec.

When I went up to the counter, I thought to myself that she looked like Erin, but her name tag said Amanda.

She was a sweetheart!! Very friendly, very courteous, and just as pretty in person as in pictures. You have every right to be extremely proud!! :thumbsup2 (thumb)

She was the perfect Disney Store employee - quite the contrast to the employee lyzziesmom encountered!!

We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise a few years back. We really enjoyed it.

That is so nice of your clients to do that for you.
that is too cool!!
:woohoo: :yay:
I agree. I own the National Treasure DVD, and I watch it just about every time it is on TV as well.

I can't wait for the 2nd one.
I love that movie...we watch that dvd quite a bit too...I can't wait for the 2nd. The first time we watched it was on the cruise:cloud9: no better way!!

Okay. Someone else just now showed up.

Did I tell you the story of what happened last week??

There is one of the consultants - who is kind of a practical joker type - that travels quite a lot. And he was in San Antonio last week.

Well, while he was gone, a couple of the other guys decide to box up ALL of his stuff. EVERYTHING in and on his desk. I mean EVERYTHING. Well, they packed all of his stuff into 3 boxes. And he was supposed to come back in town Thursday night and back here in the office on Friday.

Well, he shows up to work on Friday and all of his stuff is gone. Well, the other guys told him that his stuff was left on his doorstep early Friday morning. He said the boxes weren't there.

Long story short - the boxes were missing. And included in all the stuff that was boxed up were personal documents including bank and credit card information as well as company documents.

The president of the company was not happy. (it was at this moment that I was so happy not to be a part of this prank) He called a meeting late Friday and ripped the guys who did it. He said he had thought about firing them on the spot.

I still don't know if the boxes are really missing or if the other guy is "getting them back" by just saying the boxes are missing.

Good Morning!

That's cool that Erin did Pozey's return! I would have been so thankful to not be a part of that prank either!

I slept horribly last night too. I was so sore and just tossed and turned all night. I even took a Advil PM and that didn't help.

Bonnie- I hope you feel better! :flower3:

pozey...omg...that is not good. I hope the stuff isn't really missing! wow, AT&T does pranks on ea. other like that too...but not here, thank goodness ;)

Nicole:hug: sorry you didn't sleep well. That is how I was Sat. I was literally about in tears. Childbirth wasn't as bad as my knees were hurting! Seriously. Thankfully yesterday I took it easy on them...they're sore, but nothing like Sat. night. They were extremely swollen!! I hope you get feeling better. I was taking some Darvacet too:rolleyes1 I had too!

sorry Dznyfan...I missed your post last night. Sounds like you were quite busy too! I wish we had a pool:cloud9: I'd be in much better shape.

Oh, the birthday party was fun! I'd be in better shape if I were doing this in the pool every day. But today I'm SORE after doing that swim 2 days in a row. It's actually closer to 700 yards - the pool is 36 feet from one end to the other, and I swim 60 laps, or 30 round trips... I must be crazy.
Maybe I should have taken more than 1 Tylenol PM last night - I might have slept better!! Are you feeling better today?

Bonnie - Thanks - I don't think I'll fall asleep though - my darn phone rings too much.

Pozey - pranks are fun but that one was a little over the top... I hope they find those boxes! nobody there at ten after 8:00? Sounds like the company I work for...

We all got a good workout this weekend! That is a lot of laps!! Thankfully I am feeling much better than I was Sat. I'm sore, but nothing bad. Thanks for asking :) Nothing a few otc pills can't take care of;)
I gotta get this real work done so I can work on our Disney trip!! Priorities ;)!!!:rotfl2:

Oh...did you guys hear anything about a pipe bomb at DTD this weekend??? My boss came in talking about it, he heard it on the radio:confused3 I'll have to check it out later!

Ashley: I liked Stranger Than Fiction a lot! It was different than what I was expecting - in a good way. Just what I needed to get me "out of my head" yesterday.

We better enjoy it now, because I think after we have kids the napping days are over!

You think?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Sorry, couldn't help myself. That has to be the understatement of the year! Actually when they are very little you can still nap - as long as you don't mind giving up on housework. The rule is: When the kids nap, YOU nap! Do not use that time to dishes, laundry, vacuum, etc. It's the ONLY time you'll have to nap, so you just have to. Especially when they're little and you don't sleep through the night for a year or so. But it's okay, they are so worth it.

Nicole: Moving is really hard work, I don't envy you one bit. Tell Steven that flowers are nice, but they're not sparkly enough. ;)

Hi Bonnie! Hope you feel better soon. I was out of commission last week for a day or so, but much better now. I'm totally with ya on taking out slimy bananas, ick! I prefer my bananas dancing to slimy.

pozey: How cool that you met Erin at TDS! Glad to hear she's the model employee - of course I wouldn't expect otherwise. You've been busy meeting us Cliquelessers this summer, haven't you? Who's next to cross off your list? ;) Key lime pie cheesecake, my favorite... I'm drooling just thinking about it. You will have to pass along the recipe if you can get it! It really does combine the best of two worlds.

I agree. I own the National Treasure DVD, and I watch it just about every time it is on TV as well.

I can't wait for the 2nd one.

Was that the Nicholas Cage movie with the Declaration of Independence, something about a map on the back? I think I remember renting that one with a boyfriend or maybe Emma's dad... I had low expectations and ended up liking it. I'm not much for action movies or historical stuff but I was pleasantly surprised. Not something I'd have picked out for myself. Lyzzie loved it, which I think was the first non-"girly" movie she really liked. Didn't know there was a 2nd one coming... or was that just wishful thinking?

I think it's going to be a long day.... ever have one of those nights that you just sleep 'light'? Then, about the time your alarm starts going off, you start sleeping really good - in between snooze alarms? And it doesn't help that it's raining again. :umbrella: ugh.

Ugh, I had that kind of night on Saturday. Around 3am I gave up and took my Ambien. I try so hard to skip it on the weekends but my mind just would not shut off. I was shocked that the kids didn't wake me up at 6 -- of course maybe they tried and had no luck. :lmao:

The sun is finally making an appearance around here. I saw in the paper this morning a photo of a town an hour or so south of here - the streets were flooded waist-high. Lyzzie thought it was a photo of a man swimming, until she saw the stop sign next to him! I'm so glad we didn't get that here, just a lot of rain. For some reason my basement did not flood this time, hooray!

We've decided we are probably going to skip the big fireworks show on the 4th this year. Emma gets so scared by the loud noises, and since we bought all those little ground fireworks we will just do those at home and have my parents come over, maybe order a pizza or the traditional 4th of July Chinese food. :rotfl:

Well I see a bunch more of you have posted while I was typing, so I'd better go catch up. Hope everyone's having a great day, and have a great holiday week!

Good Morning!

pozey, my work used to play jokes on people all the time. Last year my friend/co worker "decorated" my desk for my birthday. Stuff was EVERYWHERE. Well, her birthday was a few months later and I teased her saying I was going to get her back. I didn't but another co worker did. Her desk is in view of customers and was TRASHED. After that, a new policy was made stating that if anyone did that again they would be fired.

Lin, your pictures were great!

Add me to the list of tired people. I took a nap yesterday and was starting to fall asleep early. I woke up this morning still tired. I have no idea why I am so sleepy.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

It sounds to me like we're all going to be napping todazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

No, I hadn't heard anything about it! I'll google it and see if I can find anything.

She better be! (that's just mom talkin') I think it's cool that she helped Pozey, too!

pozey: Awwww, poor Courtney all pooped out from vacation. Sometimes we forget how hard it can be on the little ones to disrupt their routine so much.

Okay.....it is almost 10 minutes after 8:00. And NOBODY in my office has arrived at work yet. I am almost always the first to arrive - I get here around 7:30. Most everyone else gets here right at 8:00. But so far......nobody else is here. :confused3

Remember the rule in college where if the professor doesn't show up after 15 minutes, class is cancelled? Think the rule still applies in the workforce?? :rolleyes1

Luckily there has been no flooding where we are, but it looks like we didn't miss it by much. We are very close to Kansas City and the Missouri state line - my house is less than 10 minutes from the state line actually. I have never actually been very far into the state of Kansas. It's one of the many weekend trips I would love to do - travel west as far as we can get in a day, just to see what's there. We've been north, south and east, but haven't ventured too far into our own state!

Thanks! And yes, I know exactly what you mean about not really getting to the good sleep until just before your alarm goes off. I hate when that happens! I hope you don't fall asleep at work!

I set my alarm for 1/2 hour before I really need to get up, just to take advantage of that good post-snooze-button sleep! I have the weirdest dreams then too. I have fallen asleep at work before! Only for a few seconds at a time, but one of these days...

Linda: You're so lucky that Kenny still naps! Emma still needs to, but my mom made her give up naps a while back because she fought it so hard. Now she gets so tired & cranky in the afternoon - she's usually ready to nap by about 4pm but that's way too late, she'd be up all night! We try to settle for having some "quiet time" instead, but Emma will cry so hard if she thinks it's nap time that it defeats the purpose and isn't relaxing at all. Once in a while she will nap, and I can definitely tell the difference, she is so much more pleasant! We'll see how she does in preschool, where they nap every day. Lyzzie used to love naptime at daycare, the teachers would rub the kids backs and she liked that a lot. I wish we had naptime at work!

pozey: That prank is crazy! They just left this guy's boxes with all his stuff on his doorstep? Of his home? Oh no, I hope the guy is just getting them back by telling them it's gone. I'm all for having fun at work, but that's just stupid. I interviewed last year for a place that was big on pranks - the owner told me during my interview (weird!) that they once replaced a worker's chair with a toilet! See now that is funny, without doing any damage. Can you just imagine the liability of that guy's identity gets stolen because of this dumb prank??

Oh...did you guys hear anything about a pipe bomb at DTD this weekend??? My boss came in talking about it, he heard it on the radio:confused3 I'll have to check it out later!

I haven't heard about that - I hope it's not true. It seems like DTD is really having problems lately. I was never a huge fan of the place, it just doesn't have the "Disney feel" to me, it seems like just another big shopping plaza. I do like the Marketplace area though, I remember when it was the Disney Village Marketplace and it was the only thing there. I hope to have time to explore it in September, I really haven't gotten the chance lately.

Add me to the list of tired people. I took a nap yesterday and was starting to fall asleep early. I woke up this morning still tired. I have no idea why I am so sleepy.

Y'know, when I was "sick" last week that was my #1 symptom. I just felt SO wiped out. I wonder if there is some sort of virus going around? I felt like I had a mild cold, but was so incredibly tired it made everything else seem a lot worse. Sleeping in on Sunday really helped a ton.

oh yes, on the weekends I try to nap while Kenny does too. He would rather have a nap and stay up a little later than skipping a nap:cloud9: ahhh I'm so glad!

I haven't seen anything about DTD either:confused3 I haven't had too much time to look...I was on the phone w/SOG and wdw-dine:rolleyes1 :woohoo: :yay: I mean...I was working really hard:lmao: yeah, that's it:rotfl2:
Le Cellier was already sold out for CP for Dec 24:sad1: so...I booked Coral Reef instead and booked Le Cellier for the 23rd... darn it! I forgot all about it this morning:guilty:

;) Good morning crew!!!

Aaaahhhh! It's nice to be home! NOT!!!:sad2: The flooring guy called and said they were coming to finish the floor today. Everything that I pointed out that I didn't like such as how far they left the cuts from the wall and the scratch they left in the floor from moving the fridg (that I had to pay them $35 to move, and it's on wheels  ) they said there was nothing they could do about it. I swear, is there not 1 good contractor left in this world?!?!?! I swear I do my research, but they always turn out to be APIMA!!!! By the way, the contractor for the siding never showed up again. Suprise suprise!!!!

O.k. enough of my morning! We had such a great vacation, there is so much to tell. I was hoping Michele would be on here telling it and save me some time!:rolleyes1 :teeth: I have to download my pictures to remember what we did when. :rolleyes1

I will tell you about what I think was everyone's favorite part of the trip. It was the Wishes fireworks cruise we did on Friday. We had 2 pontoon boats, 1 for adults and 1 for children.;)

We departed from the marina at the Poly. We were taken past the Contemporary over to The Wilderness Lodge where our guide told us about the "hidden bear" in the main building over looking the pool area. Then we were turned around for a spectacular view of the Electric Lights Parade. I must tell you, we saw it several times when we stayed at the Wilderness lodge. Both from our room and from the beach, but it did not measure up to seeing up close and personal.

Next we headed over past the Contemporary, all the while our guide telling us trivia and little tidbits about different WDW things, most of which were inaccurate (Michele our Disney expert could have done a much better job at it!;) ) He was not the brightest of the bunch, but he was a good captain. When we pulled up to a beautiful view of the MK, they tied our boat up with the kids boat, and before we knew it the magic began. I can't even explain the beauty and magic of seeing the fireworks this way. You have a spectacular view of everything going on in the background from the castle, fireworks, front of the MK, as well as the monorail going in the background. It felt as if everything was going on just for for us, it was truely breathtaking as well as magical! You could see all of Tinkerbell's flight, which O my, she has a long way to go.:scared: This was Madison's absolute favorite part of it. You could see things you would never see and experience watching it from inside the park. One being that when the castle lights up blue with the stars, it actually is turning into Mickey's sorcerer's hat, you can not tell this from inside the park. Also, to see the reflection of everything in the water made it even more special! It truly was a magical experience for us all, one we will never forget! From there we headed back towards our final destination, the Poly. We were sorry for it to end, but took a spectacular memory of a lifetime with us.

I will tell you later how we ended up on the Wishes cruise. I don't want to ruin the moment!

ETA: One thing I forgot. The kids guide told them that Walt Disney was shipwrecked on Black Beard Island in Bay Lake. Funny thing, they believed him.:lmao: :rotfl2:

Good morning...I see everyone has been up and chatting!

Linda...what exactly does a "few" tylenol pm mean?;) ;)

Bonnie...hope you get to feeling better. I think I have a sinus infection.

UnderDog...thanks for the tonga toast.:)

We are having some flooding in Oklahoma too. I heard it raining again this am. I think this system has been sitting over Texas and the mid-west for a couple of weeks.

Pozey - pranks are fun but that one was a little over the top... I hope they find those boxes! nobody there at ten after 8:00? Sounds like the company I work for...
Yes, this prank sounded funny. But they took it a little too far in the fact that personal information was included.

And as far as I know the boxes are still not accounted for.

oh....2, maybe 3 or 4..:rolleyes1 ;) but they work.

sorry you have a sinus infection:guilty:

Lesa..sorry about the contractor pita's:sad2: the Wishes cruise sounds INCREDIBLE:love: I've thought about it!!! I bet it would be so cool...but Dec. might be a little chilly for that.

pozey, you're right...they went too far.

A Disney employee??? WTH?

YM - hope you get over your sinus infection soon - those just aren't any fun!

I'm still working on the last few days of my Grand Canyon trip report, but I just had to share this picture with you guys.......

Just a simple man and his lovely daughter.....
