I don't remember anything that I REALLY wanted that I didn't get. Not that I got what I wanted - just the opposite, actually. But I really can't remember. Probably a trip to Disneyland. I grew up in California, always wanted to go to Disneyland. All my friends got to go to Disneyland, but we always went camping. In a tent. In the Sierra Nevada mountains. Woohoo.

Lesa, I KNEW IT! Here I thought it was cookies, but nope a germ!

QOD: I really wanted an art set. Instead, my mom told my brother and I that we could get a boxer (he had to give up this skeleton head that had slime coming out of it's nose :crazy2: ). Anyway, we agreed to do that. Well, Christmas came and my grandmother got Josh that stupid toy; I did NOT get my art set :guilty: . To this day, I still bring it up to my mom and tell her how deprived I was :teeth:

Good morning all!

We woke up to more snow! And it's still snowing! We have 3 feet easy out at my house! In fact, my window wells in the basement are completely snowed in, can't see out. Where the wind blew the snow we have drifts over 4 feet. Crazy! I sent my husband and son out to play in the snow because they were both driving me a little crazy inside. :teeth: Good thing I have all my Christmas done!

Sewer-- welcome!

YM-- Give an H, give an H, give an H,A, P-- Give a P, give a Y, give a B,I,R. Give a T, give an H, give a D, A, Y. Happy Birthday YM! ( sung verry loudly and slightly off key :teeth: ) Have a great day!!!!!

Donna- Thanks for the muffins!

Let's see, Christmas gifts I really wanted but didn't get--- I soo wanted a Baby Alive doll. Didn't get it. My best friend did though and we both ate the "baby food" and got sick. :rotfl2: We then trid to bake the "baby food" in the easy bake oven. :teeth: I don't recomend that. The smells alone emitted by the stuff was enough to warrent the oven being banned to the garage until it could be cleaned out. :teeth: Our mothers were not impressed.

Yolanda, those are funny stories about the Baby Alive baby food! :rotfl: I was wondering about you and how you're doing with all the snow!

Linda and Amber ~ I got your cards today!! Beautiful card, Amber, and Linda, it was so cute with the pic of Kenny and especially liked how he signed his name to the envelope. awwww. I'm guessing, just based on what I've heard you talk about Mr. Kenny, that he probably would flirt with Erin....

Yolanda...that's the only way I know how to sing it....or any other song. :rotfl: Glad your DH survived driving around in all that snow. I'm hearing of thousands being stranded. :sad2:

QOD...ATARI!!! My parents had to be different and get us the Magnavox Odyssey game. My siblings and I see shake our head and laugh about it. My mom is still under the impression that it was "better" than Atari. :rolleyes1

Hello all!! As you can see I did not fall off the face of the earth. :teeth: I have been so busy and just overwhelmed with a lot of things around here. I have been reading and keeping up but for some reason the thought of trying to figure out what to post was too much for me :confused3

Thank you to everyone for the cards, they are wonderful. I don't have my list near me to thank each of you individually. I mailed mine on Monday so hopefully you will be receiving them soon.

Blake, I and some friends went to see the Bob Seger concert last night. It was amazing!!! For a 61 year old guy he looks great and sounds even better. We had great seats, it was nice he had a pretty plain stage, no fancy light show, no video screen, no explosion...just a real old fashioned ROCK concert :cool1: I don't know if you all know the Silver Bullet Band but Alto Reed is the saxaphonist (sp?) He must have had 6 different sax's lined up on the stage. One of them must have been over 4 feet tall!!! He was bounding all over the stage with this thing and like I said, these aren't young guys anymore. It was funny, the 2nd song of the 2nd encore...Seger called out a special guest....Kid Rock! He came out and just knelt at Seger's feet argh! my smilies aren't working!

Happy Birthday Your Majesty!!!!!!

Have to clean the house now, it's so fun being off school for a while! :rolleyes1 I promise to check in again later :wave2: :wave2:

Hi Michele! See you in a few days! :woohoo:

I'm leaving work early :cool1: to go help Steven pick out a present and pick up his brother who is visiting for about 2 weeks from the airport.

hmmm what I wanted as a kid...and never got...everything cool my sister got  she was 3 1/2 years older so mom would get her the really cool stuff and I'd want it to naturally. She'd always say..I'll get you one when you're her age... natually, that never happened!

Dznyfan...yes, Kenny loves to write....and flirt  he was batting those eyes at me trying to talk me into another tattoo at lunch.

I gotta get more work done. Hi Nicole, lyzziesmom, Yolanda, Michele, Lesa, YM, 2x, Ashley, Amber, pozey, Dznyfan, and anyone else I might have missed...

Hey everyone!

QOD: This is wierd because I did get it, but I also didn't get it. Here is the story. I love horses, always have, always will. Wanted to be a jockey til I got too tall (a whoppin 5'2") and used to take all the lessons my babysitting money would afford. I even cleaned stalls 4 days a week for 4 years. So naturally I always wanted a horse. Well, when I was 8 my Grandparents gave me one! You can imagine my elatement...until I realize that my grandparents and the horse will be living in Happy, Texas and my poor little self in Lakeville, Minnesota...my mom was so mad at them, but she also thought it would pacify my need for a horse. All I did for the next two years was ask when Christa (horse) would be moving to Minnesota...never did, she had two foals (Mollasses and Dusty) and then the guy that owned the ranch they were on sold them! So much for having a horse! And that is my Christmas sob story. Morale of the story? Never let your parents get something for your kid that you aren't willing and able to support!

So, I'm making chili right now because I made some Tuesday night and was going to eat leftovers for lunch. I took the bowl out of the fridge and Chris had left about 2 tablespoons left in the bowl! But, I was craving Chili so I'm just making more; at least I will be able to take some to work tonight.

BUY ONE GET ONE FREE AT THE DISNEY STORE STARTS TODAY!!!!! Just a heads up, I am not excited to be going to work this afternoon...

Happy Birthday YM!

So.....nobody has received my "magical envelope" yet? :rotfl:

No magical envelope here....

Fellow 'okies' - have you heard we lost one of our meteorologists (well - recently retired) last night? I just heard from my DH. Sad for his family.

Lin - OK, you're starting to scare me - I grew up on a show horse ranch in California. Most of my pre-teen and early teen years, I wanted to be a jockey for a living. Not the most common thing for a kid to want to be.

Linda - Kenny wants ANOTHER tattoo??? You know, anyone with body art will tell you it's addictive! :rotfl:

I just checked my email and saw a presale code for Wiggles tour tickets. I got so excited, I thought that would make a perfect Christmas gift for Emma! BUT, they will be here while my parents are out of town on a cruise, so I would need to buy three tickets. If I bought two, there were seats available on the floor in the 2nd row. If I bought three, the best seats were on the floor in the next to last row. And for the three of us, it would cost almost $125.00!! That is ridiculous! So... we are going to miss the Wiggles again. Last year we missed them because it was just a few weeks before a Disney vacation & I wanted to save my money for WDW.

pozey: no "magic" envelope yet! Then again, I haven't checked my mail today...

Lin: that is such a sad story about "your" horse! I would have been so mad. When I was about 12 I received horse riding lessons for my birthday. It was a lot of fun, but it was so hard to walk home afterwards because it was up a big hill and my legs hurt so much from holding onto the horse in a deathgrip!!

Girl, when I was in 5th grade we had to do a research project and oral report on a historical figure we admired...I did Willie Shoemaker! My teacher asked me about 20 times who he was and why I thought he was worth a research project. I still remember her bewildered face when I launched into my "he was this awesome jockey who was so tiny when he was born that his mom put him in a shoebox instead of a crib to sleep" bit...but she let me do it. I never read "normal" books as a kid, give me The Saddle Club, Thoroughbred Series, National Velvet or a book about Horse Racing or Jumping any day! I got 5 different Horse Magazines from 3rd grade-7th, Horse and Rider, Western Horseman, HorsePlay, HorsePlay Junior and Thoroughbred. We are too alike!

Yes, I heard that. Very Sad.

Have I told you that my younger brother works for Travis Meyer - who is the current chief meteorologist? Travis and his family are very nice people.

How funny! My books were The Black Stallion series, the Flicka trilogy, Man 'O War, the Chincoteague (spelling?) books by Marguerite (?), all horse stuff. My parents would have KILLED me if they knew, but one of the ranches around the corner from our small horse farm had a practice track, and when I was about 11 I used to take my gelding (mind you, a show Arab, that's why they would have killed me) over to the track and we would tear around there as fast as we possibly could. Oh, to be young and stupid again. I also idolized some of the old rodeo greats - Jim Shoulders, Larry Mahan. In a 'small world' bit - one of my DH's friends also a DVC member, is related to Shoulders, who is from here. Can't recall the relation - nephew maybe? He's a pretty young guy, younger than DH. My sister (yeah, the control freak) raises horses still, and I actually have a two year old paint colt out there. It's a rare day when I get on a horse these days. I'd rather be in a fast car. :confused3 My next dream is to do the Richard Petty thing at WDW.

Pozey - I saw that you mentioned here the other day that your brother trained for one of our meteorologists, and I figured it was Travis - I knew he raises Palominos.

Not yet, but I'm still holding out hope.

Lin, what exactly is included in the BOGO? Too bad you aren't my mom's child. She owns horses (races them) and wanted me to like them. I know how to ride, but I don't have anything to do with horses. She would have bought you a horse (maybe two or three).
