I am so sad...

I have had to disown my stepson.

I got an email from him giving a rundown of their whirlwind trip to WDW over the weekend (he took his GF for her first ever trip) and he said:

"There are better places to go for a lot cheaper that are not surrounded by so many tourists and kids. You guys should consider spending your points at other locations…maybe you can use it to get a hotel near here."

Now.... that's coming from the kid who has used our DVC points no less than five or six times for trips he's taken there on his own.
Blasphemy.
So……I’m reading between the lines here……he’s taken five or six trips on his own and never complained………So……he DOES enjoy Disney…… :thumbsup2

Now……he takes his girlfriend there for HER FIRST trip……now he comes back and says there are better places to go…… :sad2:

Sounds like the girlfriend is the one who didn’t like it………she is using her womanly charms to turn stepson against Disney……….. pirate:

Dump her!!!! She’s evil!!! (I say that half kiddingly)

OH, the horror!!

Um, yeah there ARE other places to go with less tourists and kids. They are called boring. That's why I don't go there.
That made me laugh!!

Okay………another apology coming from the stupid guy here………. :rolleyes1

I FINALLY mailed my Christmas cards to everyone yesterday………however there may be one problem………

Yesterday, just before Colton and Chase had swim team practice, I had them both help me with putting the cards in the envelopes and putting stamps on. We were doing this in my truck. So, this morning, I get in and find 1 card. It is signed and everything. I think 1 envelope got sealed without a card inside. :confused3

So, if you are that one really lucky person who gets an empty Christmas envelope………MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :rolleyes1

OMG April!!! That is insane. Sounds like that mother needs some classes, but not on nutrition :sad2: Slight lack of dicipline  :furious: That would have gotten to me too.

You'll have to tell us if you learn anything. I would love a class like that too... just finding time when you're away from home 12 hrs a day already and you know how ever free moment I try to spend w/Kenny :cloud9: Sorry they put a serious damper on your evening :grouphug:

Since YourMajesty was the last to post last night, I decided to fix her favorite!! :teeth:

Hope you all enjoy! :goodvibes

Have a Totally Awesome Tuesday!!!! :dance3:

:woohoo: just what I needed to start the day...thanks Donna.

Good news...DS was up and walking just fine this am. The bad news was he go up to tell me the dog threw up. :sad2: :crazy2: Oh well...on to better subjects...

Yay Nicole :yay: You passed your class.

DznyFan...Yep I was thinking that maybe since he doesn't pay for Disney he doesn't appreciate it...nice to see that your dd's friend enjoyed it. Is your DD a junior this year? She really would make a beautiful Belle. ::yes::

Amber...glad to hear the shopping is about finished. I think I need to try the popcorn. What kind of white chocolate did you use?

Posey...too funny about the cards....I started to worry myself. I just got mine out yesterday too. :teeth:

Linda...you have the Mickey bedding? :dance3: I can't hold a candle to my cliqueless friends and their Disney belongings.... :worship:

April...that is so gross...that sheds new light on buffets. :sad2:  I agree with you seminars are no place for children. I'm really suprised they were allowed to come. I'm so glad your trip went well. I'm sending a pm for the picture link. :yay:

Ok...I'm glad I signed on early this am because I need to break to call and pay for the Feb trip!!! :dancer:

Oh, April, that is disgusting! I don't think that's an appropriate setting to have children in, but if a person has no other choice than to bring their children along, then they need to be responsible for them! Ewwwww..... I would have skipped on the food, too.

Pozey - you're kinda on the right track. He wants to go, goes, but then complains. It's not the first time he's complained. And he hardly has to pay for anything! But - he always turns around and asks for more time down there. Probably because it's a freebie, basically. I think he needs a smack with a pixiedust baseball bat.

Um, yeah there ARE other places to go with less tourists and kids. They are called boring. That's why I don't go there.
I actually wanted to use this as a reply to his email! mwahhahahaha!! I'm still steamed enough I haven't replied yet.

Good morning!

Donna-- ummm jelly donuts!

2x-- sooo glad to hear the treatment went well yesterday!!

Diznyfan-- Sounds to me like a traitor has infiltrated your family! I say lock them in a small dark room and play "It's a Small World" over and over while flashing up pictures of WDW on the wall until they crack :teeth: Just kidding, sort of....

Well, I was able to catch up on almost all my work yesterday. :thumbsup2 So today should be pretty easy. I have just a few things to do. Have a little laundry to do, a little cleaning, need to return some clothes that don't fit my husband and then maybe a little time for scrapbooking. :) There's supposed to big snowstorm moving in this afternoon so I'm gonna try and get everything done in the a.m. My DS is angeling to open a Christmas present early. He keeps telling me that Mema (his grandma) would let him. I reminded him that he is currently in mommy land, not mema land and my world is much different than hers ;)

Good morning Cliquelessers! Glad I could make a few of you laugh, usually when I do that it's accidental.

pozey: I will keep my eyes peeled for an empty envelope. If I am the lucky recipient, I'll just hang it in the hall with the other cards!

April: I haven't checked my email yet but that's my next stop, I am looking forward to seeing your pictures! I agree that some places are just not conducive to children, especially "certain types" of children. I also understand that sometimes it is difficult to find a babysitter and you think your kids will be ok... but it sounds like that mother was very inattentive. I would have been mortified if mine acted like that, and I'd have probably left. Sorry you had to endure that.

Linda: when is Kenny's birthday? Last year we celebrated Emma's birthday at WDW a few weeks early - I wanted to be sure to travel while she was still under 2 and could fly for free! In fact... do you think 4 months early is too early to celebrate her birthday this year? ;)

DznyFan: this may seem a little harsh but I would not let your DSS use your points anymore if he is not appreciative. At least for a while until he gets the point. Sounds like he *thinks* he's got a pretty sweet deal there!

Lin: those window clings are darling, thank you for my very first virtual Christmas gift! How fun! Your peppermint bark invention sounds delicious, and so easy! I may have to try something like that.

YM: Sounds like you've got your hands full with school out. Lyzzie has 1/2 day tomorrow and then she is off until next year. I freaked her out by saying that this morning, she had forgotten it's almost the end of the year!

Amber: too much to do? That's WHY you go back, duh!!

Better get some work done, hope I don't lose this long long post. (copy copy copy!!)

Good Morning!

Donna, thanks for the donuts!

Lin- Aww... you're so sweet! Thanks for the virtual gift!

April- Wow! Those kids need some discipline! Ewww!

Dznyfan- I agree with Lyzziesmom- Don't let him use your point anymore, at least for awhile.

2X- I'm glad your treatment went well.

Have a great day everyone!

I WISH! All he's got to do is call Dad, tell him he wants to go, and he's got himself a room for whatever duration he wants. It didn't sound to me like he and GF will go 'by themselves' again - but he was very clear that he would go again if WE were there. (that way his meals are paid for!) DH is oblivious to it all, and trying to point it out is a one way ticket to an argument.

Pozey - funny about the cards. I'll be looking for an envelope from you! :rotfl:

April, sorry you had to deal with that last night. :crazy2:

YM, I used Wilton melting chocolate, but you could use almond bark too. Everyone at work loves it and it's super easy to make.

pozey, when I was doing cards, I put a bunch in the envelopes without signing them. I had to go back and redo them (luckily, they weren't sealed).

Dznyfan...that's what I thought too... he calls dad and if you say anything... it might be a sore subject... :grouphug: Sorry. that must get old.

Oh, I forgot ..thanks Lin :) I actually do have the Mickey cling on :rolleyes1 I'll have to add Peter Pan..Kenny will love it ;)

lyzziesmom Kennys birthday is Feb 19th. so its not that far from our trip :woohoo: 4 months early..its never to early imo ;) this year is a big one... Kenny's 6th in Feb., my 30th and our 1st wedding anniv. in April :woohoo: Plus Kenny and Emma could celebrate together :cheer2: they would enjoy that!!

ym :grouphug: sick dog :grouphug: that's never fun either!
bedding...I'm just a disney fanatic...can't be helped ;)

Yolanda :lmao: that's a great idea!!! "its a small world after all".... :lmao:

Amber, this may seem like a dumb question, but how did you melt the chocolate?

Not a dumb question at all. :)

For the popcorn, I out the chocolate in the microwave. You have to be careful, because it can burn. I heated it for a minute, stirred it, then did 30 sec intervals until it was smooth.

For the pretzels, I used my chocolate maker. It has a setting setting to melt it.

You could melt it on the stove too. You need to fill a pot with water and place a bowl on top (make sure it doesn't touch the water). Boil the water and stir the chocolate while it melts. Don't let water get into the chocolate because it can sieze.

I haven't caught up yet but I need to put in a collective request for some Faith, Prayers and Pixie Dust :wizard:

I was checking Steven's email with him for some news about a job that he applied for at Clemson University. It closed on the 15th so we're expecting to hear something any day now. So, he's checking his email and I'm standing over him and there's an email from Clemson! :cheer2: So we open it up and it says they've reopened the position :confused3 and the closing date is now January 7, 2007. No need to reapply blah, blah, blah
blabla.gif
application is still on file blah, blah, blah
blabla.gif
. We're like, "WHAT??"
headscratch.gif

So, I go over to the Clemson website to see if this is really happening and sure enough, there it is extended or reopened or whatever they call it. . .

And as I'm looking (as I've been looking) I see a job for me!! Right up my alley and what I'm proficient at. And then I see the closing date is TODAY!!
gaah.gif

So, I'm speedily working on updating my resume so that I can apply for this job. Talk about stress!! It's kind of hard to remember what you did at your last job/jobs but you know you did a heck of a lot!! So, I've got my notebook open and I'm writing down all the stuff I did then I've got to type it up and make it sound all pretty!!

I did Steven's app. and I know it's long plus I'm sending a resume and cover letter.

Please pray for me and send your good wishes. I would LOVE to work for Clemson and go to school there!!

Ahhhh, back to the resume. And I really wanted to share Disney Stories!!

:grouphug: pixiedust: Good luck April!!! Lots of prayers and pixy dust. At least you saw it today..and not tomorrow ;) Everything happens for a reason ;) :grouphug: pixiedust: :tink:

Ok...my trip is paid for. Talking about waiting until the last minute. My DH ask me why I hadn't paid for it... :confused3 Just didn't want to part with the last $800 until I had too. :teeth: I didn't buy my pirates and princess ticket...I'll do that when I get there.

Yolanda...lock him in a dark room... :lmao:

Linda...my youngest DS will be 7 on 2-12....that's one reason I couldn't go the next weekend...well I guess he would have gone with me but then oldest DS would have thrown a fit....now they both will. :teeth: I still haven't said anything. :smokin:
