Nicole, my knee hurt a little bit, not too bad..I was very grateful for that!!

But what really hurt were my feet and my calf muscles!! That was the worse. I guess I wasn't used to that much walking, and what is sad is by the end of the week when we were going home, my feet and legs started feeling great like they were getting used to it!! Then I really didn't want to leave!!

My feet and calf muscles were okay, nothing like last Dec! It was just my knee that gave me a little bit of trouble.

We had a major scare at school today. I think I have told you that we have a large autistic program at our school. They come from all over the county. Some of them are what we call 'runners' They have to be watched constantly or they will take off. Apparently there was a crisis in one of the classes this afternoon and their attention was diverted. One of the kids took off. They were looking everywhere, the high school is connected to the middle school by the pool so they were looking in the HS too. The principal and one of the AI staff went off in their cars to drive around the school. Finally we got a call that one of the bus drivers had spotted him, a 1/2 a mile away This is literally 10 minutes since he went missing. Plus he had to cross a busy street to get where he ended up. The bus driver stopped and got him to come to her, she had him calm and was waiting for some staff to pick him up when the police pulled up and screamed at her to BACK AWAY!!! Well that spooked him and he took off again!! Gee, thanks for the help! :sad2: They caught him again right away.

The thought of what could have happened just gave me the shivers all afternoon!

OMG Michele.... glad he was ok! So much for the police HELPING :sad2: ... Quick little guy wasn't he...

Sorry you were delayed so long at the airport Nicole. I know your feeling...I'd rather spend those hours AT wdw  !!

Nicole, welcome back, and glad you had a fun trip!

Lyzziesmom - what a great deal on the suit! Sorry to hear, however, that your archnemesis is returning...

Oh, Michele that is scary about that student! Thank God he's OK!

Welcome Home Nicole!

Well, I'm off to catch up. I've got quite a bit of it to do but I'll be back. . . :surfweb:

Thank You to the OP for starting this thread. I have been lurking here for a long time but was always afraid to post! When I saw this thread I finally decided to. Thanks! :)

...snipped...April, in August when we drove from Florida to VA we stopped in South Carolina at that Beyond the Border or whatever its called hotel on the South Carolina/North Carolina border. It was fun.
We're aaallll ------->the way on the other side of the state by Rt. 85. We're in the mountains and hills region known as the Upstate. I've been to South of the Border a long time ago when I was a wee one. It was a stopping point when my mom would drive us kids down to WDW and to visit the grandparents.

My problem is I have Champagne tastes on a Beer budget!! Translated that means, Deluxe taste on a Value budget!!!! If my good sense kicks in I will probably be in a Value, too!!!
:rotfl2: This is my problem too!!!! I say this all the time to DH about myself.

April::Linda's hubby is going, too!! We can't discourage a Disney-lovin' guy from going! My DH is not THAT crazy about WDW and he's going to stay home with Nathan.
Thank you for saying that. You will love him if he gets to go. ::yes:: And I'm not just saying that cause he's mine. He's the life of the party wherever we go. But not in an obnoxious way.

Whew, got 12 resumes sent out. If I don't get a nibble from that, I'm going to go hide in a cave because I obviously have no desirable skills.

Donna, yes I'd say Little Mermaid is a must-do! MGM is probably my favorite park lately (I love them all, it's so hard to choose!) and the one we usually go to on our arrival and departure days. I just love the look and feel of that place! Ironically, on my last trip that was the park in which we had the worst day so I didn't enjoy it to the fullest. With my folks along, I felt so rushed. They have the attitude of, okay we've seen this, what's next? Sometimes they want to know what's next before we've even finished with the current thing. I'm more of an enjoy-the-moment girl so we butt heads a lot. I'm sure that won't happen in Feb, because there is enough of us going that we can split into smaller groups and everyone can do what they want to. For me, that would be.... everything!

I'm exhausted, I forgot how tough a job search can be. I'm making myself a daiquiri and watching Desperate Housewives, then starting on Plum #8 and calling it a night!

Hi to everyone else, hope we all had a Wonderful Weekend, and to all a good night!
Whew, it sounds like you've been a very busy girl!! Crossing my fingers and sending you lots of pixiedust!! pixiedust:

I started reading #8 on Monday and I'll almost half way through it. I tell ya', I just can't put these books down. I really wish she would just get with the man in black (that's code for those of you who haven't started them or aren't too far in the series yet) ALREADY!!! Sheesh!!

...snipped....April----oh, your a luv!!!!!! I kept reading about the moleskin but had no clue what people were talking about. Now I know exactly what the package looks like. Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! BTW, what's the difference between the $50 moleskin and the $5 moleskin?? More prestigious moles?? No, seriously.
:rotfl: :rotfl2: Well, you see when I'm talking about the $50 moleskin I had to take into account that we had to get a taxi which took us from Disney property all around the mulberry bush to a Walgreen's --$28.00, then buying two packs of moleskin --$10.00, a pair of scissors to cut said moleskin because I didn't bring any from home --$5.00, buying other miscellanious stuff because we were at Walgreen's --roughly $7.00. So altogether because I forgot to bring moleskin (and scissors) from home it cost me around $50.00. That's the difference between the $50 moleskin and the $5.00 moleskin.

Now let me tell you (incase you don't already know) that if you know you are prone to blisters in a certain spot cut a piece of the self adhesive moleskin and apply it right to the spot in the very beginning. If that's not the case. Then should you start getting what they call a hotspot (you know an area that is soar from being rub and could turn into a blister) get the moleskin on it right away. Once you have a blister the moleskin doesn't really help. Trust me I know. However, if you catch it right at the beginning stage the moleskin is a foot and trip saver!! :thumbsup2

No problem if Steven wants to join us. Mike is tagging along with Linda. They can bond and complain how much time you girls spend here.

I can't wait to see what you think of the Lakehouse. I saw it at the theater. Let me know when you are finished. We'll discuss.

We need to start a list of cliqueless birthdays.
Next weekend is Donna's, Lyzziesmom's and Ashley's, right?? Anyone else??
Let me add my name to the cliqueless birthdays. Mine is October 25th. Right after I move so many states away from my family. :guilty: (this little face is called guilty but I use for sad)

I was actually born in Lubbock, Texas then lived in Dallas for a couple of years. When I was in kindergarten my dad got a new job in Minnesota so we packed up and moved north. I basically grew up there. All my childhood memories are from there and lived in the same town from the time we moved there til I went off to college...in Lubbock, Texas at Texas Tech to be a theatre major. Met Chris (DH) and then when my sister graduated high school and decided to go to Tech as well my parents decided to move back to Dallas. Then Chris and I got engaged, married and now live in the Dallas area. But, my sister just moved back to Minnesota. I really miss it a lot. The people and the culture there are just amazing and its an incredible place to live. Aside from the ice.
Hi Lin :wave2:
Thanks for taking the time to share that with me. Isn't it amazing how some places just "feel" like home? That's how we feel about S.C.

We haven't found Princess yet. Talked to my sister this evenign to see of she had an extra cat, thinking Princess might have found her way to her house. I'm afraid some of the guys that were here last night had trucks and she might have hitched a ride. We were very attached to her and I hope we find her.
Donna, I sure hope by the time I'm finished reading/catching up you find Princess. I'm feeling so bad about your kitty being missing. :sad2: I miss my cat. She's still at the kitty condos where we have her boarded while the house was/is on the market and people were in and out and inspections are being done. I can't wait to go pick her up.

That's the same day I go to court for Emma's name change, so I only have to break out the nice suit once! It's encouraging to know there are possiblities, just in case. I'm not getting the greatest feeling about things here today, but I could just be a little paranoid. Can ya blame me??

YM, hope the MRI results are good.

Gotta run, just wanted to check in and say a great big HOWDY to everyone!!
Hey that's great news, lyzziesmom!! Oh, and that's pretty cool about the suit too! :thumbsup2 Good luck!!

And good luck to you YM!! :worship:

Just a quick pop-in with good news.!!! I found Matt's ring. The one he got at WDW with his initials on it, that I thought I lost after football last week.

Whoo hoo!!! I was taking Nick and some other neighbor kids to catechism this afternoon and one of the boys out of the blue hands me the ring and says 'here'

I have looked there many times since then, don't know how I missed it. My mom says we found it since we were on our way to church. Ok, whatever, I'll go with that.

Matt will be sooo excited when I pick him up later.
Hey Michele, that's great news. And, that sounds like something my MIL would say. Hey, I'll go with that too.

Well, I get a call from Courtney's daycare around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. She was running a fever.

Some back info...
Last Friday, her daycare called and said she was not feeling well. So, I went and picked her up. She went with me as I took both boys to Swim Team Practice. She started getting really hot while we were there, so I called DW and told her she needed to come get the boys after practice, because I was taking Courtney to the doctor.

We see the doctor and she says Courtney just has some kind of viral something. Says to just give her Tylonol or Advil and rest.

Courts had a little bit of a fever Saturday, but she was seemingly back to her normal self yesterday. Never ran a fever.

Now it's back today.
Oooh, I hope little Courtney is feeling better real soon. How is she doing today?

Yea for you on you 1,000th post!! :woohoo:

Hey chicas!

Just a quick pop in. I'm up on the computer helping Colton with an assignment. The PTA is having a contest called Reflections. It is an Art/Music/Literature type contest. Last year, Colton's picture he drew won 1st in school, 1st in district, and placed in state.

This year he wants to do both Art and Literature.

This year's theme: My Favorite Place. :cool1:

hmmmmm......wonder where that would be??

So, he already wrote his literature piece. It's very good. I'm helping him print it out on the computer.

He already has a design in mind for his art piece as well. He wants to draw Cinderella Castle in the middle of the poster, and then surround it with the Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth, and Sorcerer Mickey Hat.

Anyway, he's still thinking of all the things he is going to say about why he LOVES Walt Disney World so much.
Oh, you have got to share it when Colton has completed his writing and drawing!! I'm excited to see it and read it! That is so cool!! :thumbsup2

Have any of you guys watched the new tv show "Heroes"? I hope this one doesn't get cancelled, I really like it! It seems like everything I like gets cancelled, so maybe I just have bad taste?

I think I'm going to shop for a new outfit tomorrow. I saw a darling black suit at Target last week, it had a flippy knee-length skirt with a really nice fitted jacket. Something nice for court and interviewing, plus I love suits because I can mix & match the pieces.
I've been watching it. I think it's a great show. I didn't see this week's yet but I'm going to catch up on it via the computer. The outfit sounds great! :thumbsup2

Well, I'm going to send this post out there and keep on catching up. Apparently, I've reached my quota :rolleyes2 of smilies/images and had to cut some out. And you all know how I need my smilies to convey my emotions. :rotfl:

Hi, everyone!!

Linzy::I just finished your trip report. It was one of the best and I thoroughty enjoyed it!!

Lesa:: It was a bit hot out today the Frappuccino was fantastic!! :thumbsup2 Your new siding color looks the same as ours, Savannah Wicker.

Michele:: What a scare about the child running away from school! He is so lucky to have made it acrossed the street.

Amber::I'm glad your DH is feeling better today. Hope you don't catch what he had!

pozey::That Courtney must be feeling better!!! What a gal!! princess:

lyzziesmom:: You have luck shopping like my sister does!! And she always looks great, too!!! Good luck tomorrow with your interview and with court!!

Nicole:: Welcome back!!! Sorry about your flight delay. I would play hookey from school, too!!!

DH is working until 5pm tonight, which means he won't get home until about 7pm. One of his co-workers has to take his wife to Chemotherapy today. DH's company was making this poor guy take vacation days to take her. DH went to bat for him to work things out so that he could just take the time off as needed. It amazes me the calousness(sp) of some companies these days!! :sad2:

I got a phone call from my dentist this morning about a cancellation. My next actual dentist appt. was for Jan 8th!! I told them to call me in if someone cancelled. This work is gonna' take forever. Friday I told Nathan it looked liked I was going to have to spend the next year at the dentist. and he said " Won't I get to see you??" :lmao: I explained I didn't mean that literally!!

Nathan got his 1st quarter report from his 2nd grade teacher. He got an S+ in Math and Reading. She stated that he was fluent in his reading and understood all the math concepts. He is very polite and well-mannered. :goodvibes Well, that's my mommy-brag. DH and I are so proud of him.

So, what's everyboday up to tonight?

:wave2: Hi Donna ...I'm here :teeth: I've just been doing some internet shopping for Mike... He's a huge UK fan (Univ. of KY) basketball...so I've been looking at that stuff...and Jimmy Johnson Nascar...and Terry Redlin prints...talk about one extreme to the other :rolleyes1 I already got him a gun but think I might get him another as well... :ssst: don't tell;)

Nathan... "I won't get to see you?" :cloud9: aren't they priceless!!! polite and well-mannered :cloud9: that is awesome!! You deserve to be a proud momma... I am too!!! :cheer2:

Welcome Marley Murphy... I'm from Ohio too :teeth:

Hi, Linda!! :yay: Shopping?? I was looking at the cub Scout stuff earlier and I nedd to go to Target.com to order some new bathroom rugs, so I will have spares when these wear out!!

Good Morning Everyone!!

Mike was so sick yesterday. He went home from work early and then stayed in bed. He was throwing up and had a fever and headache. He did wake up this morning and felt ok. I'm hoping he stays that way.

pozey, :cheer2: on the posts!!

2x2s, I hope you feel better. Flying when sick is no fun at all. A few years ago, Mike and I flew back from FL. I was sick and I ended up passing out (the pain in my ears was so bad). Poor Mike thought I had died (he had never seen anyone pass out before. He said my eyes were wide open and I went completely white). No one came to help at all.

lyzziesmom, good luck on the interview. You will do great! Here's a little :wizard: to help.

Talk to you all later :wave2:
Amber, I hope Mike is feeling better. It's no fun being sick. I didn't pass out when I got an ear infection on the pain but I never felt such excruciating pain before! It was horrible! It was like someone was grinding a knife in my ear and there was nothing I could do about it.

2x2s, I hope you're feeling better real soon. You've got 11 days so I think you'll be right as rain by then. However, here's a little pixiedust to help you along. pixiedust: Doesn't this smilie look like he's spontaneously combusting?
lyzziesmom said:
pozey, Courtney sounds like quite the little firecracker! Glad to see she's feeling better. Jello will always do that to you, must be why they like to serve it in hospitals!

Well I went to Target and they did not have the skirt I wanted in my size. Boo. So I went to look for my 2nd choice. The rack they were on last week is now full of those gawdawful gaucho pants, tuxedo style. Boo. Then I turned around, and voila! The 2nd-choice skirts have appeared on the clearance rack! But what's this? No jacket? Oh well, I headed into the dressing room anyway, picking up a nice white shirt along the way since all of mine have, uh, shrunk. What do I see on another clearance rack but one solitary jacket, in my size for 75% off! Today was my lucky day! So for just under $74 I got the skirt, shirt, jacket, shoes, a bra and even lunch & a snack! I'm such a good little bargain hunter.
You go girl!! :thumbsup2 Don't ya just love it when you get a bargain!!

Nicole:: I don't blame you! I hate having flights delayed especially when I'm at WDW. That's time that could've been spent in the parks or exploring other resorts. Glad you made it home safe.

OMG, Michele!! That is a scare!! And don't you just love the so called professionals sometimes? Here your bus driver had the student calm and collected and then that idiot starts yelling at the one responsible for the student being calmed. If something had happened to him after that :furious:
Glad everything worked out ok.

ooohh, DznyFan, I'll be on the lookout for our member book and picture. Please tell me they did a full issue book this year with room layouts and everything. I'm tired of these little chinzy guide books. I want the big "wish" catalog guide book. OOOh, I'm so excited now!!

Oh, Donna, I will be praying for your DH's co-worker's wife. How horrible they were making him take vacation days!! Your DH is a GREAT man for going to bat for this co-worker. Especially in a time like this. Lots of prayers from me for this gentleman and his wife!!

Way to go Nathan!! This is great news!

Well, I must go make dinner. DH gave me a scare earlier when he came rushing into the house and said, "I've got gasoline in my eye!! What do I do?" Apparently a hose on the lawn mower got an air bubble in it and as he was down there checking on it the air actually blew the hose off and blew gas into DH's eye!! And you know he's out there finishing the lawn now. :confused3 God love him!!
