I saw this set 1st trip home to WLV and thought how cool that would be to set up at our other home. Whos else hhas bought one of these sets, and did you set it up permanent so you can look at it when you get "homesick" for WLV?

I might just purchase one of these next trip, but I would have to have it shipped back since I couldnt carry it on the plane. OR, I could just call to the mercantile store and get it sent so I can do a little daydreamin' between now and December!!

jimmytammy....are you sure you're going to be able to last another 256 days until you go home? :p

I did see that set you're talking about. I was wishing I had a young son to buy it for! :)

I can hold out on the days and get through summer but once Sept. hits the days will definitely get slower. Thats when that fireplace in the Iron Spike Room is going to start whispering my name.
I have a 9 yr old DS but I was actually thinking about it for me!!

Granny,

I am available for adoption!

I will set it up in the basement near my WDW train and main street station!

You are close enough that you can come visit it anytime you like;)

It really is neat, and I considered purchasing it to add to my collection of Disney Christmas Decorations. I thought I could set it up somewhere near the tree, on which I only put Disney ornaments, but I really need to get the train to go around the tree first. I almost bought that at Once upon a Toy, but decided to wait.

Since we almost always go to home in January I like to decorate at Christmastime with Disney decorations to start the magic a little early!:)

There is a WL Lincoln Log set?!?! My DH would love that. I am going to have to keep my eyes open for that during our next trip.

Bought it for my DH for his BD last fall. Needed it before our Nov trip, so my friend bought it in Oct and had it shipped home to me. Now my 24 yr old son wants one. WLV is his favorite place to go home to. We have stayed at all the Villas but he would always pick WLV first.

I always knew that when I married d-r I married a big kid, but not until recently as Disney has started making all the replicas/models of everything have I realized exactly how big a kid he is!

In the past year we have purchased practically every piece with the exception of the Speedway and the Epcot models. Spent months on e-bay searching for related pieces - like a Main Street set from Sears back in the 70's. Its become quite the hobby. d-r's goal is to build a model MK in our attic. He had spent months fretting and worrying over what he would do about the train and the train station - and all of the sudden while we were at MK this past January he came running out of the Emporium jumping up and down going crazy - they had the train and train station! My neighbors didn't stop laughing for nearly half an hour and its still a source of ribbing!

We have the WL set and have taken it out and looked at it, but not gotten it assembled yet. Right now the monorail loop and hotels have taken up our guest room floor - that's when we realized how big this thing was going to be and would have to move to the attic.

As junky as most of the merchandise has been lately I think they struck gold with these model toys! They really are fun!

I purchased the set for my DD when we where at VWL last Sept. I had to have it shipped home. It was shipped via UPS and it cost about $10 to ship. My DD sets it up and surrounds it with her two lincoln log train sets! She was exteremly surpised when she received it for Christmas!!!:D :D

I hadn't seen this before. Now that I know it's out there, I think I might have to get one!:)

We have one and had it shipped home. We put it up at Christmas on a little side table in the dining room. I have a friend who is a CM at the WL and we took a picture of her face and put it in one of the windows.

It's a cool set, and DH and DS (both engineers) enjoyed putting it together!!!

My next aquisition will be the haunted mansion!!!

We bought one on our last trip in November and had it shipped home. I put it together and used silicone glue and it had held up great. It's currently on display on a plant shelf on top of our entryway closet along with a statue of Mickey!

I bought it for my husband for Christmas. Called Disney's merchandise number and they shipped it. My husband put it together and it's sitting on our fireplace hearth. We bought some of those little Disney figurines (Minnie, Donald, etc) to sit around it. We get lots of comments on it. The fireplace hearth is brick and it matches our decor quite well.

My nephew stopped dead in his tracks the first time he saw it and yelled "Wilderness Lodge!" He's 9 and he went to the lodge when he was only 4 and begs his parents to take him back.

I d love to see a pic of one, anyone have one? TIA :)

I think this is the set in question:

We are redoing our family room to match the design of the VWL one bedroom units. I think this will look great down there... :)

Thanks tagrel, thats awesome! I love it....going to you site now :) ttfn

My son and I put our WL together during the big President's Day snowstorm we had here. It was a great way to pass the time.

We used wood glue to hold it together (after looking at all the pieces, I told him that I would put it together ONCE!). We also placed in on a piece of plywood with some green paper underneath. You can get the paper at model train stores.

My friend has placed pine trees around her WL, and it looks fantastic. That's our next project.

DS has one. Bought it at WL last October. He had $50 spending money he had saved and picked the set. He was so proud when he walked out of the store. He had to carry it all the way back to our room-and it's pretty heavy for a 6 yr old.

We opened it and there is a little sheet that tells you how many of each kind of log you should have. We were 1 short. They let us get another set and that was perfect.

We paid $45 or $50 at the WL store.

Our kids love to build it every once and a while.

The WL set is a slightly different color than other Lincoln Logs-at least ours is.

We have one...my sister got it for my DS for Christmas. He loves it, but it is not easy to put together. Took us a few hours. I thought about the build once and save it, but my DW didn't want to put it out on display for fear of guest's kids trying to "play" with the Lincoln Logs again.

On our first visit to VWL in November, my son spotted it at the resort shop. We were actually on our way home and we had stopped in the store for munchies for the plane. The CM was SO WONDERFUL in helping me order it to have sent home without my son catching on! He opened it on Christmas morning and was thrilled that Santa knew he wanted it!!!!
