This may sound like an odd question...and I certainly mean no offense....

but...

do you know how BIG "WISHES" is?

they have CM's Stationed all around Fantasy Land...on the rooftops...back behind....watching the trees and such...

and one...note ONE....of the reasons they took the trees out in that area where the Walt & Mickeys Statue is...was because "WISHES" fireworks were landing in the treetops...

that aside...the narrative...the music...the changing colors on the Castle...the images on the Castle...AND the fireworks...just blows me away...

question of curiosity: something else that's new...Philharmagic....what do you think of this?

Have you ever been behind the castle after Wishes when there is water flowing every where from watering down the buildings etc.?

I know Wishes is a big thing, but for some reason we always missed it. I don't think I would miss it again if I were there.

Philharmagic is the reason we missed Wishes at Christmas time. We were coming out of Philharmagic just at the end of the fireworks. That's why we were behind and saw all of the water running everywhere.

What do I think about Philharmagic..... well the first time I saw it I thought it was pretty good and enjoyed it quite a bit. The second time I saw it, either my eyes were off or the 3D stuff wasn't timed exactly right so I wasn't as impressed that time.

Why is it called Mickey's Philharmagic when the whole thing is about Donald??????????? I don't understand that one.

My favourite 3D style attraction I think is the Terminator at Universal. It's Tough To Be A Bug is really cool though too and I like it a lot.

What is your opinion then on Philharmagic or those styles of attractions?

Sometimes I am cautious about saying what I know about....if you know what I mean...when I first saw an advertisement for "WISHES" ...i was on the phone ASAP....if ou now what I mean...to find out if it was as awesome as I thought....

:) :) :)

and my opinion on Phiharmagic and the like...

it might sound hokey...

but...

I enjoy it immensely....the music...the magic...the 3D visuals..

I let it all sweep over me...and through me...

it lets my mind rest....by pushing everything else aside for those too few minutes....allowing pleasureable moments of pure fun, magic and enjoyment...

now, my favorite of favorites is "Splash Mountain"...hence the "Brer" added on to "Papa"...

I sing and dance as I sail through the mountain....

I mention this...because "Splash Moutain" and "Philharmagic" are 2 of my laughing places...

I hope that answers your question.... :)

yor turn...do you have "laughing places" like that @ WDW?

laughing places  hmm, never really given that concept much thought before.

Our last several visits to WDW have been "flying" visits. 4 parks in one day!!!! We do all of our favourites in each park. I think I would like to go back again and do it slowly and savour it again.

The last couple of times we went we have started to explore other areas of WDW, eg we went to see Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Polynesian resort, rode the Monorail, just because!. There is such a lot to see and do, you could spend months there and not see it all.

We stayed onsite for the first time ever at the end of January, at the POP Century, we got a really good deal of $55.00 a night. That is one thing I don't understand is the "got to stay onsite mentality" To me it does not matter if I am sleeping onsite or off site, as long as I am there::yes::

I like Splash Mountain too, but I do NOT like the drop at the end.

I think you would enjoy a slower pace....just because.....as you said, there is just so much to see and do.....

and the changes because of the seasons....my favoritw time of all is Christmas time... (big surprise huh?)

second favorite time is Halloween.....

as far as onsite....to each his own....
my personal preference is to stay onsite...

once there, I want to spend every second doing something related to WDW...even if it's just an early morning walk...en the grounds have been swept and watered...the smells...the sounds....(birds chirping...ducks quacking etc. )

late evening...seeing the lights, the
Disney under the stars...so to speak...

and withFort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge as my favorites...followed closely b the Animal Kkikngdokm Lodge....

anytime of the day or night is a good time to be out and about...

lastly, there are programs available that I want to take....like the WDW Railraod behind the scene tour...

well....it's all part of the magic...reasons why each indvidual has found a reason to keep going back...

those are some of mine...

We have done many, many visits at a slower pace in the past. Lately we have been doing short one day visits, usually tacked on to the beginning of our cruise vacations. It's kind of like well we can't get that close to WDW and not got there at all!!!! With having our own business we can't seem to get a lot of time away at once, so we have to do it in short little segments.

I like to go at Christmas , with all of the decorations and the poinsettias at the entrance of Epcot are beautiful too.

I guess we are too cheap to pay the price to stay onsite. Generally we are only in the room to sleep. I personally don't want to spend what it costs to stay onsite for a room that I am hardly going to be in. I figure I can put that extra money to good use somewhere else.

But to each his own and obviously there are lots of both sides because there certainly are tons of places to stay both onsite and off.

Just checking in with you all!

We have only been to WDW once... can you believe it? LOL
In 2000 we did 4 days at WDW and then a cruise...on DCL.. which was superb. I took the family to WDW to celebrate the end of rehab after the accident.

We would love to go back again. When we lived in So Cal. we did DL all the time.. b4 DCA... I love DL... you truly feel like you are in another world.. leaving the REAL WORLD far, far away.

Christmas at DL is grand.. my favorite thing... LOL.. THE GIANT REINDEER.

:wave2: mamajoan

I went to DL once but it was just soooo crowded that I hardly recall anything that we saw or did there.

I hope to be able to go back again sometime really soon though.

Isn't a Disney Cruise a great thing to do!!!!! We love to go Cruisin' :p

Fall and Winter months at DL are great... even at Christmas... if you go Mon-Thursday at least we never ran into crowds. I don't think I will ever go back to Florida/WDW in the summer months again.... Lordy that was one hot, muggy mess.... It is very odd to take a cool shower in the am, dry off... and then have to dry off again..... We were the cleanest we had ever been.. 3 showers a day while at WDW! LOL

I grew up in the midwest so I am accustomed to humidity.. but have been spoiled living here in CA. We are about 30 min from the beach.. live in a Valley that gets ocean/coastal breezes.. very mild weather... ya it gets cold.. and ya it gets hot.. but it never lasts too long.

New Dog Update....

Angus... is one wacky Scottie... he was very anxious last night and finally fell asleep at 3 am... whew!
I thought he would have been exhausted from chasing Bridget (the smaller, older Scottie) trying to "have his way with her" LOL
Finally Bridget nipped at him and said Knock it off Buster!
Guess the neutering did not rob him of all of his machismo:hyper:

Maybe the hormones haven't had time to get out of his system yet.

Hopefully that will happen soon, or he will get his ears "slapped" a few more times before he learns.

I went to WDW in the summer the first time I went, back in about 1975 and I remember that it was very hot and the sun was very strong.

It gets very hot and muggy here too and also quite cold. Yesterday was a sauna here and today it was actually chilly. You just never know from one day to the next.

I have never been to Canada.. but really want to go there on vacation.

Funny when I think of Canada I imagine.. cool, crispy weather.. all the time LOL>>>LOL! I NEVER thought it would get hot and muggy... What things a person can learn from TK's!

Well in this part of Canada it definitely gets hot and muggy. This past week the temperatures were close to 90 F with a humidex reading at about 105 F. So, it was like stepping into a sauna when you went outside. It has been much like this for most of the summer.

I live in a part of Canada that is a lot further south than much of the USA. I am one hour away from Detroit, MI.

We get our share of cool, crispy weather too (downright frigid at times!) but it usually only gets really cold from about December to March. That's when we all head to Florida :p

Only one?

Well...the wedding and reception were nice....

The Bride was beautiful...she glowed....
and for those who are wondering....the food was yummy!

I was a party boy...and a dancin'-guy....

the place was packed....I think there was around 270 guests....

lucky for me... :) ...the table we were at was one of the first to get fed....

hmmmm....I was at table 9....sounds lke I was on the high end of the food chain huh?

not that I'm complaining...

so....Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

how are things in your neck-o-the-woods?

as i remember....your DD had a dance yesterday...that go well?

Watching the Nascar race?

I am cooking as I DIS....got a chicken spinnng on the roitissirie......it's browning up fine....probably dizzy too...

making garlic mashed potatoes....and some corn....

other than that....just relaxed and kicked back.....

and you?

yum, can I come eat at your house tonight.

I took out pork chops but I am not sure I am going to cook them cause I don't even know who will be home.

Glad you had fun at the wedding. I am always at the table that gets to eat last:(

Well, the dancing went very interestingly last night.

It was at a small town 1/2 hour away from here. It was a real small town fair, with baking contests and entries for ribbons in other things like sewing, kids art etc. Very cool.

I will start with the fact that the coach was not there this weekend so another girl took over for her, so it was already unusual. They found out that there was no CD player to play their music with  . They found a ghetto blaster somewhere and put a microphone up to it. So okay now they had music :D

After the first 2 songs the CD player started to mess up!!!!!!!! The girls would be dancing and all of a sudden............... silence.......... the music would stop. Then about 4 seconds later it would start up where it left off again.

The girls were very professional about it though. When the music stopped they would just sort of freeze where they were and wait. When the music came back they would just start up where they left off :crazy2:  :rotfl:

It was an absolutely hilarious performance, we laughed and laughed. They did a really good job forging on through the adversity :p

The best part of it is I have it all on video tape, because I was taping it so the coach could see how the performance went ::yes::

No, not watching any tv at all.

I have one about 3 feet away from me, but I hardly ever turn it on.

I just have lost pretty much all interest in the tv these day.

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

Aaaargh....how you be Matey? pirate:

Uh-oh.....just finished filling my face...you are welcome to stop by for leftovers...

it turned out pretty well....

before i spun the chicken...I seasoned the chicken inside and out using part of a jar of seasoning my DMIL gave me..it's called "Canadian Steak Seasoning"

full of garlic, onion, herbs and spices... pretty tasty too...

PA tells me I'm a good cook....and while I think I am...sometimes I wonder if she says that to butter me up so I'll do more of the cooking..

SSSSHHHH...don't tell her I said that!

Wow! It sounds like you guys had an AWESOME time! :cheer2:

Very professional of the dancers ::yes:: but so much fun to improvise....!!

I probably would have froze up like an icicle...

KUDO'S TO THE DANCERS! :thewave: :thewave:

pork chops? I make a mean stuffing for stuffed pork chops....

HEY! Does that sound like another butter-up?

Aaaaah..it would...EXCEPT...the stuffing is great!

Almost forgot to say...I love going to fairs....big or small...doesn't matter...I always have fun and enjoy myself....

OK! Being the observant fellow I am...I couldn't help but notice you didn't mention the candy apple...it's gone...isn't it?

Oh Ma-a-a-a-a-a-a-an! My mouth is watering for a candy apple now...

:evil eye: I think the wind carried the aroma down here too! :EVIL EYE!:

well...i have a jelly bean left....a green one....i guess that'll have to do...

  :rotfl:

Thanks for the offer of left overs. I am not really hungry so I don't know what to do??? Cook the pork chops, which are still a frozen solid chunk or find something else to have and cook the pork chops tomorrow:confused:

By the way, how do you stuff a pork chop:confused:

I didn't know there was such a thing as Canadian Steak Seasoning, although I like the sounds of all of those ingredients.

Wait, didn't you say you were cooking chicken, you can't use steak seasoning on chicken:eek: There's a law or something :earseek:

Sorry about the candy apple ;) I ate that right after I posted last time to you. ::yes:: It was good but the candy part was really sticky and stuck to my teeth a lot. Oh well a small price to pay I guess :teeth:
