dang! where to start?

OLD? secret decoder screen on EVERY setting...."finely aged like a good wine"...

well...except for those basted "F" setting....they say "smelly like ripe cheese"....

I don't like the "F" settings a whole lot....

I have done a lot in getting DMIL's affairs in order....

and working

....dang...work gets in the way of all the good stuff....

anyway, I was getting an education in the new Medicare prescription cards tonight....

I have a buddy in the Health Insurance business....we are taking a gander at whch cards at which pharmacies will be the best buys for DMIL's prescriptions...

OH! btw...my friend Jimmy and hs whole family are in Florida for the week...last night, I was jabbering with him for a whle...he had hooked up with my CM DS...and DS and I jabbered today...

They will have a swell vacation....

OK! uhmmm..the statutes of limitations did expire didn't they?

Well, as I leave for the night, remember this.......MY absence from this thread is MUCH longer than Hollyann's, and I expect to be able to read ALL the replies quickly, when I return. Now, how in the world would that be possible?!?! SHORT POSTS my friends, SHORT POSTS!!! I hate to pull a (PopDaddy) Jason on everyone, but I'll need some quick reading when I return. Once upon a time.....in a land by a Lake.... a shy guy
got sucked up by a lurker sweeper....

the shy guy rolled around in the sweeper bag for a while...



and then was spit out into the lake....



in a rubber dinghy.....

he was surrounded by all the lurkers the lurker-sweeper sucked up...



....all in rubber dinghies of their own....

well, the shy guy got a little bored....so he juggled life vests for a while....

he got bored with that so he played some pick-up-sticks for a while...but one of the sticks put a hole in his dinghy....

so he yodeled for a while....but that scared all the birds away the lurkers were trying to catch....

they kept their eyes open "earseek: for a "note-in-a-bottle" so they could play spin the bottle...but nobody wrote....

finally....the shy guy got out his new fiddle and started to play...



the lurkers MUTINIED!

they shanghaied the pick-up-sticks and jabbed the shy guys dinghy!

...and it started to sink....

so the shy guy started swimming to shore....thankfully, he was making good time because his toes were all wrinkled and gave him better propulsion....

but it was just so far to swim....

he didn't know if he could make it....

all of a sudden....the lurker-sweeper appeared...

....and sucked him up again....

after rolling around for a while...



...the lurker-sweeper spit him out....right back into the "Thread-Killer" thread on the DIS Board....

How convenient that the lurker-sweeper dropped the shy guy right back where he belonged. No wonder the thread-killer's thread was a little quiet the past few nights . The shy guy (yeah right!!) was out playing with the fishies in the lake!!!

Good Morning Threadkillers and lurkers!

I hadn't planned on writing til later on this evening - as it's moving day, but the movers were delayed until 11am, so I headed right for the computer! Last night we went to a really great fish camp. They make the best seafood, cheese grits (although I refrained - low carb) and fixin's this side of the Mason Dixon line! It's right on the water and has been there for a zillion years. In fact, before I met dear hubby, he used to go there when they had a dirt floor! It used to be quite rustic, but success is catching up with the guy. It's called Whitey's Fish Camp. I think ya'll would love it - has plenty of character - like the threadkillers!

Kim! Congratulations. Still haven't figured out the smiley thingy yet, but there are a million of them jumping around if you set your decoder ring to FPFK (fifty pounds for kim). What an amazing accomplishment!

Whitey's Fish Camp sounds like a place with a lot of atmosphere and also character (Yup just like the thread-killers).

I don't like fish (only when they are swimming in my fish pond or aquarium) but I would love to see the place.

sometimes, the posters are talkng about "themed" threads...or...

about threads that are cliquish....

hmmm...here's my take....

we are a fun and freindly bunch that tend to get along

(even when someone...you know who...bumps someones elbow...you know who's...so that a twinkie squishes on someones ...you know who'ses....nose)

anyway....we get along...have become friends...supportive...caring...concerned....

most of us would pass sanity tests in the majority of the 50 states or Canadian Providences....

we all enjoy/love Disney and Disney related programs...

most of us smell good most of the time....

so we might have more in common than what some might think...

AND! some someones beside we, the more vocal of those that visit here...push that view count up every day...which may include the labelers and categorizers....

if there is a clique...aren't we all in the clique? viewers and vocal?

It was the first thing that came to mind

I think of this thread as more along the lines of a Cheers bar kind of place.

You have your regulars that make up the majority of the patrons. You have your semi-regulars who show up occasionally and have a little chat. And then you have your newcomers, who drop in to see what the place is like.

I think that this thread and as a result all of the regulars on it, is very open to new people coming along and joining in. I don't think that it is an exclusive "club" at all.

We always encourage new posters by acknowledging their presence and trying to get others to join in with us, even those that we know are lurking out there in the bushes (you know who you are )

If this is a clique, then it is the best kind of clique. Everyone is welcome and no one is excluded

Bravo! Cruisin! I put my keyboard on its side to give you a cyber standing ovation! The song was lovely......I can't rhyme worth a darn! You would enjoy Whiteys Fish Camp - they have a great salad bar and they serve gator for land lubbers (no kidding - it's Florida - they really do serve gator!) I'm new to eating seafood, so I only like mild fish & shrimp and there's plenty to choose from.

I agree a clique is a dogs overly long toenails on a tile floor! Just look at how warmly I was welcomed and I didn't start 'til around page 175!

BrerPapa, are you sure you're not Santa? If not, I have one other theory, but the Santa theory needs to be disproved first!

Well, the kids are almost completely unpacked! I'm a whiz in the kitchen and before I left, the entire kitchen was unpacked. I also did all the clothes in the closets and half the master bathroom. Plus I cooked dinner (nothing worse than burgers & fries twice on moving day!). Our grandbaby's other grandma flew in from Tennessee to watch him, so she was able to spend some quality time with him. We only live 10 miles away, so we were good boys & girls and shared!

My hubby discovered that half of the kitchen cabinets were about to come tumbling down - not connected to the studs, so he fetched his tools and fixed them and other stuff that needed assembled, fixed or attched.

Our daughter was checking all the stuff in and (unfortunately) son-in-law had to work. He's GM of two airports - not the entire airport, but the fueling of planes, luggage, VIPs & personally owned planes, so he's a busy guy!

While we were moving in, the doc's office called and we're going to get seen today. They said they "doubted" it was cancer, but didn't rule it out for sure. Still, it's better than nothing! We imagine we're probably looking at surgery to have this yuckiness removed! I'll keep ya'll posted.

It's good news! There is no sign of cancer in the biopsy! It looks like the tumor/growth is a congenital growth that he's had since before he was born. There's lung tissue & a little skeletal/muscular tissue in it. Since it has lung tissue, they are going to have him consult with a thoracic surgeon to make sure all is well, but our surgeon didn't anticipate any surgery in the future. They are also going to do a CT Scan in 3 months to make sure that it isn't growing. So.....good news all around! Thought you'd like to know.

So, Monday, we're pressure washing the fence! Thanks so much for being so thoughtful and supportive. Ya'll really are the best!
