Good evening everyone! It was such a series of short, quick visits for me everywhere today, that I hadn't even 'lurked' on this thread until just now!

Took DD to school, went to work for 2 hours, picked her & a friend up (1/2 day), met my Mom and nephew for lunch, back to school for the meeting and book fair, quick trip to the dollar store (where I SWEAR they had handcuffs!), quick trip to the post office, hurried home to my usual routine, school work, exercise, making dinner, etc. Dinner was late tonight, which threw everything else off as well. Plus The Apprentice and ER were on, so I watched those while I finished up my 'chores'. Nephew is spending the night tonight, too. Happy to finally be here and posting, and relaxing for a few minutes.
Well, golly gee, guess what? Guess who got straight A's and all +'s on her subjects? Yep.

However, on the back of the report card, under behavior/conduct-type things, she did get 2 check marks (satisfactory), along with more +'s, the checks being for receptiveness and distraction/disturbing others. FINALLY though, the teacher acknowledged and admitted that that is due to DD being bored, and finishing fast, and wanting more work.

I think I must've been mute for the past 10 weeks.

She also presented us with 3rd grade reading books for Kelly to take home, and told me that the 3rd grade teacher is going to allow Kelly to come in there everyday, pick 1-2 books, and take them back to 1st grade for silent reading time. It'll be another 'something special' for her. They are still looking into having her go into the 2nd grade for general reading, as well as entering the 2nd grade Accelerated Reader program next quarter. My 15-minute meeting, ended up taking 1/2 hour....good thing no one was scheduled after me.

And, as a plus, at the book fair, the principal approached me about Kelly having an opportunity next week to take a test with a school alumni, now in college, studying for something having to do with child testing, and she wants to 'test' one child from Kng, 1st & 2nd grades, and the principal thought of Kelly right away! I was so pleased.

Kelly was excited as well when she heard.

It isn't anything official, names won't be used, 'results' won't be issued, but it's just another 'something special' for her.
Sorry this is so long.
Thanks for ALL the good wishes, help and advice today, and in the past! You all have been a great comfort to me.

It helped me to gain, and keep, the strength I needed during this time, or I would've just let this slide, I know.
I plan on writing a letter to the special ed teacher, replying to her letter, and following up with what we spoke about, and above all, THANKING HER for apparently helping me, Kelly, Kelly's teacher, and the principal, SEE what needed to be done.
And, if I may, impose on your eyes just for another moment (if not, scroll down)

......... Funny thing...... When teacher opened Kelly's report card, glaringly all A's and +'s, she says, "the only thing we need to work on is"...........and I said, "attendance?"

It was too, too funny! (At least she laughed with me)
Again, many, many thanks to all of you!!! There is not a single other place that I know of that would let me go on about this, without being even the slightest (or more) judgmental, and you never were. Thank you, it helped me, and Kelly, more than you know.
NOW, back to the FUN STUFF!!!
