Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Christmas song after Christmas song was played....interrupted once when eggnog and cookies were brought in......

some Disney songs were done....some were sing-a-longs...some were danced to...

a couple hours had flown by....

by this time...and after that many songs....the elves and elfkins were requesting songs non-Christmas and non-Disney related....

so, I played some rock and roll...some Beatles....

it ws hilarious to both Santa & me when the elves and elfkins asked you guys to teach them the dance steps...

I was proud to see you guys teach them "the Twist"....

I must have sang ...

Come on Baby....lets do the twist....Come on Baby....it goes like this

about a hundred times....

and I gotta gve you guys credit...you had the elves and elfkins twisting.....

(to be continued....)

after "twisting the night away" it was apparent to me that my voice was getting a bit raspy...

perfect!

That's when I sing Rod Stewart songs...

ballads...love songs...songs to relax to...

Santa dimmed the lights....and brought me a chair....

he's such a kindly guy....

I played "Maggie May"....a solo...the elves and elfkins swaying to my music in their chairs....

the room quiet except for my guitar and singing..

without a pause...i went into "Downtown Train"....

Santa and I exchanged smiles when some elves asked you guys to dance....

despite the elves being so mch shorter than you guys....it was nice to see you dance as I sang....

Will I see you tonight? On a downtown train....

Every night, every night it's the same.....

on a downtown train...

you leave me lonely....

WillI see you tonight? On a downtown train.....

all my dreams, all my dreams fall like rain.....

on a downtown train....

when the song ended...Santa said "Speaking of downtown trains....i better send for the sleigh....it's getting early...."

the elves and elfkins wished us all a "Good Night" and a "Happy Christmas"
as they left the huge room....

you guys looked sad to see the festivities ending...it was your first time there...

you brightened up a lot when Santa inqired..."See you before Christmas?"

"Sure Santa"....

and we hopped in the sleigh....and headed home....

:p I doubt it! ;) I'm vertically challenged myself, ya know. ;)

Nice, nice Holiday story, BP!

I have that same Rod Stewart CD, btw! ;) And, my DAD taught me how to twist, so I'm THERE! ::yes:: :cool1:

Not to interfere between Church and "Santa", but did you play/we sing Away in a Manger? That's my childhood favorite.
::yes::

Thanks BP! :goodvibes

:) :) no interference at all....

"Away In a Manger" is a must do at any Christmas music-fest....

and...

FYI....

"O Night" is my all time favorite....

Good morning all

thanks for the story Brer_Papa. I haven't got time to read it all right now, cause I got to get the lazy kid off to school.

I will enjoy it later when I can take my time.

:rotfl: :rotfl: As I am typing this that song, (not sure of the title), but it goes Let's twist again like we did last summer ........... is playing on the radio  How coincidental is that :D

Have a good day everyone!!

Edited to add they just said the name of the song is "Let's Twist Again" by Chubby Checker

Good Morning!
GREAT story BP!...........Its funny because my DH and my DS play the guitar and The tunes they play the most are beatles(they are a BIG fave in this house)and christmas songs!
Every thanksgiving after dinner we all get together and sing and play Christmas songs and then beatles.......No Rod Stewart, but he is one of MY fave singers. My DH does not like his voice, but I do......I just got done buying his new torchsong CD....I already have the first two.....I thinks they are great....Its the kind of music I remember hearing when I was a child......The kind of music my parents played.........Its amazing to me how many I know the words to.
Soon my oldest DGD(13) will be able to join in with the key board.....Man she can pick up anything fast(no training)...She was playing the HM song and I toldher she should learn the MMC march (sang it for her, because she didnt know the tune) and went outside for a min. when I got back she was playing it!
Kim
I am soo glad you are finally getting satisfaction from the school front.... Keep plugging at it.....Remember the squeaky wheel and all......BE that squeaky wheel!........as My DGDs say "You GO girl"....:cheer2: (I cant believe THAT came out of ME!)
At one time Brittany my middle DGD said I was cool because I knew one of her songs(it was "How bazaar")AND I knew what stylin ment. So guys its offical ..................IM COOL!:teeth:
Cruisin'Kroezes,
the song is "Let's Twist Again" by Chubby Checker
Should I admit that I remember this song!....?.....BUT I was VERY young when it came out!:jester:....almost a baby:worried: :teeth:

Well Im late again to feed my horses ...........and I dont think THEY will think that is cool!......So I must go now............
Ill try to check in and see whats up befor the end of the day......In the mean time have a good one!
Betsy

Hey Hey!!!

How is everyone doing??? Well I'm back home!!! We had a great time!!!! Got to do and experience alot of new stuff. Rode in the very frt of the monorial for the first time. Dh and kids loved it. They said it was like riding a rollercoaster. LOL.... It was great! MNSSHP was great! Got to walk onto most of the rides! Only ride we had to wait (about 10mins) was for Peter Pan. LOVEDDDDDDDDD Philharmagic!!! Saw it twice!!! I can't wait to go back to the world!!!!!!!!!

/
Oh I forgot to add...Dh loved the food and wine festival! He had a ball tasting and drinking. Got a good buzz going w/ all that beer. hehehe...

Hi PrincessaC, glad you made it back safely and that you had a great time at WDW.

We rode in the front of the monorail when we were there in September too. That is one of the good things about going when it is not really busy, you get a better chance of doing those kinds of things.

We were there last year during the Wine and Food Festival, we tasted lots of things too ..... no beer though, cause beer is :crazy2: .

It was also Super Soap Weekend when we were there last November. Saw some soap stars, most of whom I had no idea who they were:teeth: But I dutifully gathered the hand out pictures and offered them up on the DIS boards to the first taker.::yes::

Hi Dalpal!!!! Nice to see you on last night.

Brer_Papa, hmmmmmmm, I wonder why Billy will be seeing Santa again before Christmas :smooth: :smooth:. Is there something Billy is not telling his thread killer friends  ;)

Princessa C-Hi! and Welcome Back!

I have yet to ride the front of the monorail-
I've learned to ask but always send other members of our party to ride...maybe this year:rolleyes:

Philharmagic is great, isn't it?
My DH was at Epcot a couple weeks ago and ate & drank his way around the world. He could only laugh when he sat down to eat dinner with his Dad and Aunt & Uncle & they couldn't figure out why he wasn't hungry!

BP: Innocent:rolleyes:
I'll accept the excuse that the handcuffs and whips are not yours, but you just juggled bras in a department store! And EEE's at that! Come on now!
(personally, I like your shoe store antics, I'll have to try that one sometime ;))
I also think Hollyann will let you juggle scarves-the slow-mo effect is fun to watch.

The trip to the NP was excellent, always a good time with you, eh?

Hi Cruisin!:wave2:

Have you recently changed your internet service or setup? I had the same "no email" issue recently and was told my restrictions might be set too high. Just a thought...

KimRaye Congratulations extended to you and your DD,
It's good that her school is working with her. It's difficult for a child so advanced~they usually wind up at odds with teachers because they just need a little more brain stimulation and the teachers act as if the child is a nuisance.

Howwwwddddyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:teeth:

Where is everyone tonight?

I hope Tom and Ann have made it safely to their destination by now and that they haven't turned into popsicles yet :p

Okay Mommy brag coming up here .............

Liz came home from school today and said ..... I won something .... an undergraduate award at school .

I am doing one of these   HUH????, cause generally her marks are definitely not high enough to be winning any awards with ;)

It turns out that she has won the Grade 11 undergraduate award for her Fashions Class (sewing and design etc) from last year :D

She will get her award in December some time I think. She thinks the school is going to send out invitations to the awards ceremony.

Kind of cool huh, we weren't expecting it, that's for sure :D

Hi all...
Another late night for me......Had to check up on all my TK friends....

It turns out that she has won the Grade 11 undergraduate award for her Fashions Class (sewing and design etc) from last year
Cruisin,
Hi! a big congrats to you and you DD......That is so great....I bet she was proud and you too.....
.........
PrincessaC,:wave2:
Welcome back ....Glad you had fun....I have a few nice pics from the front of the monorail.... Our driver was really nice too....Did you get your pilots card?
Hey TW,
I couldnt "drink around the world".......I am such a light weight...I wouldnt make it Past Canada and that would be if I started at Great Britain.:teeth:
BP...
I also think Hollyann will let you juggle scarves-the slow-mo effect is fun to watch.
Yes you could do the dance of 1000 scarves.........Or bras.......But then you would have to be in your cups:teeth: Get it CUPS????
I know that was really bad.
Oh well its late so on that note.....I think I better go to bed now
Sleep well all you TKers.......
I guess you lurkers too.
Betsy

Good night Dalpal, have a good rest.

I am having a hard time staying awake too tonight and will probably go to bed early too.

:wave2: Lurkers, I hope someone comes out and keeps you company tonight.

Hm, now wouldn't that be an interesting sight. :earseek: :earseek:

Better not try it though, we wouldn't want to scare all of the lurkers away, would we  :smooth:

That's exactly how I felt this teacher was handling Kelly, until this past week. Now, I truly feel my DMIL heard and answered my prayers to her. I just finished typing a thank you/follow up letter to the SE teacher, with copies to DDs teacher & principal, just to stay connected. This is a small Lutheran school, little over 100 students from pre-k-3 - 8th grade, so I truly hoped & prayed that they would be the best solution for Kelly. It just took some time. I can't imagine how long this might have taken in the public school system, which in my district can have 40-60 kids per GRADE. :( I will however continue my course within the public school system though for the testing, but I really just want those results to help her current school, if possible.

Robin, you go right ahead and brag, and be proud!!! Awards and invitations and a ceremony? Get a new dress! ::yes:: That is so great, and So COOL! ;) Congratulations to your DD!! Our kids talents should never be ignored. My average student DS excels in his broadcasting class....it's what he Loves! You may have the next (insert hottest designer here, since I'm NOT cool on who's the best right now), and I may have the next Steven Spielberg. :hyper: Now, THAT'S COOL!!! :smooth:

To wrap it up tonight, I had another whirl-wind day. DS went to school but I had DD and DNephew to entertain since we were all off school & work. We had breakfast, and hit the Mall! Can't believe there STILL is not enough time in the day to do ALL the shopping I want to do! Imagine that! ;) We had to cut our shopping trip short, as my husband was stuck at work and couldn't pick up DS, so we left (without our next-stop, ice cream) and picked up DS. Took DNephew home, and raced to DDs art class. Thankfully, my husband came home in time to go back out and pick up DD, while I managed to make dinner. Whew!

Tomorrow, DD has her official Brownie induction, gets a pin and a badge or two. She was excited tonight picking out which uniform pieces she would wear. ;)

Back on track here....I can't tell you how many different variations of HANDCUFFS I've seen since they were mentioned here! Besides at the Dollar store, I saw them today as a pair of earrings! WHAT is happening?!?! Too funny! :p

Well, sweet dreams to you all....I'm sure you're all currently having those, and I'll see ya tomorrow! ;)

Good Evening Thread-Killers and Lurkers alike!

You mean my OCD on this matter don't you? :( :o Seriously, there is NO WHERE I have been able to speak at such length about this, except here. Even my family, even my husband, aren't as closely involved, and I admit, when I previously heard the 'gushing & bragging' (i.e. WORRIES/CONCERNS) from other parents, I just could NOT relate. Now I do. :o I still don't know what the future holds, but I do know, that with all of you reading, listening, and helping, I was able to find something within me to gain the strength, BE the squeaky wheel, and get the help for my DD. I'm sooo grateful. :grouphug:

Ok, sure, but what for? Hmmmmmm?

:wave2: Everybody :wave2:

The :sunny: is shining here today :Pinkbounc . It is not really warm but the sun helps a lot to add to the illusion of warmth.

Kim, if WE don't stand up for our kids nobody else will. That is something you have to learn real fast when you become a parent. And you have to not be afraid to do it.

:earseek: ooo, a PM from BP :hyper: , I can hardly wait!!! I wonder what it is all about????? :D

Kim, take some pictures of Kelly at her Brownie induction. Can you post some for us??? I know she is a cutie ::yes::
