Hi all,

We are planning a 1/18-1/24 trip 2016.

We are thinking about hopping a boat to Wilderness Lodge and trying Whispering Canyon for lunch. We have never seen the lodge and figure it might be a cool place to eat.

That Monday is MLK day, but we figure most people would be in the park. We thought we might take a break if it is pretty and ride the boat to lunch?

Do you think a reservation would be needed for lunch at that time of the year? Would it be different for MLK day versus the rest of the week?

Thanks.

We visited WCC over Presidents' Day week, and although we had ADRs, we often saw lots of empty tables early in the day. Personally, I would just check and make a reservation the day of, or you can take your chances. There is always Roaring Fork!

We've only seen the restaurant crowded for dinner. It is pretty quiet there for breakfast and lunch. You should be fine since most people tend to be in a park at lunch time. :)

Awesome thanks. Since it isn't a "must do" for us, I think we will just take our chances. Thanks very much for the advice!

We love it there. We are a two top. We always seem to get the same table at 5 pm when they open for our ADR. Turns out they only have one two top table. That's why we always get it.

Please -get an ADR :). Sandy and I go to WC for breakfast/lunch about 16 days per year, 12 years running. We get ADRs for EVERYTHING - and have seen a number of folks without ADRs (several with hungry children), stuck waiting for a good hour :(.

LUNCH is (generally) not all that busy - but you will be going during a Holiday event. Regardless of the Holiday? It MAY be very busy. At times, some of the WDW tours descend on WC for lunch.... an ADR may be a very good idea.

Now - you picked a GREAT place for lunch :). If you can remember.... ask for Bridget, or Hickory, Doc, or Jeffro :). The staff at WC is STUNNING - no matter who your wait staff is? They are gonna make sure you leave stuffed & happy :).

I'm excited to read that! We're heading there in mid-December and have an ADR for lunch. This is our first "Christmas time" at WDW, so we just HAVE to see WL in all its decorated glory! The lunch is just a bonus. :)

We stayed at VWL last December 1-7, and tried to walk-in at WCC for breakfast one day, and lunch another day. Were told no both times. Hopefully, that won't be your experience.

We walked up for lunch on presidents weekend with no issues
