If you are on the DxDDP and you order the "all you can eat" skillet for supper are you still allowed to get an appetizer and dessert?

Also if your child orders a "kid's skillet" is it a seperate plate or does the family just eat from the same platters? We don't mind paying for DD5 meal but I would hate for them to waste a seperate meal on her because she doesn't eat much; probably just a cob of corn and one rib, if we're lucky ;) Don't worry DH and I will eat enough to make up for it :lmao:

I believe you do get an appie and dessert (though I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. . .lol), and each person in the party needs to have his/her own plate, child or not.

In buffet style or family style meals, there is a charge for children 3 or over. Children under 3 may eat off the adults plate for no charge.

I went to WC 2 years ago on DXDP. Yes, you can order a seperate appetizer with DXDP if you order the skillet dinner. (We did!) The skillet dinner includes the all you can eat skillet and dessert - I may be wrong, but the think the skillet includes a tossed salad that's may be considered the appetizer. We also ordered appetizers off of the ala caret menu with DxDP.

When we went my son was under 3 so he shared at no cost. I believe if your child ia also on the plan they share the skillet with everyone else. I'm not sure, but I would bet that if your child isn't interested in the skillet you could probably order something off the ala carte kids menu for him/her while the adults get the skillet. You can always ask.

The kid's skillet is a separate meal entirely. Not just an extra person added on to the adult skillet.

Since a couple other posters jumped to whether you have to order a meal for your child, which wasn't your question, I'll answer your actual question that our experience (been there many times) has been that everyone that orders the skillet (both adults and children) eat from the same skillet - there wasn't a special/separate/different skillet for the child.

With the deluxe plan, you get an appetizer and dessert. The skillet comes with a salad but you can order an additional appetizer if you want. Most people do.

The child skillet is a separate small skillet with either chicken or ribs and corn and mashed potatoes. Its been that way for quite a while now.

Your experience is not representative of the current menu. There is now a separate, very different skillet for children.

When we went in December (Deluxe dining plan) my DD 6 ordered the skillet. Yes, it came out on her own plate and she ate the corn and the chicken leg. She was also able to eat additional corn out of our skillet.

We each ordered an appetizer (I got the chips and queso which was tasty and DH got the spring rolls which were very good.)

We also each got the dessert (but got them to go - we ate way too much food at dinner.)

The waiters are a hoot there. My DH asked for a fork and the waiter brought him out a fork that was atleast 3 feet tall! Ask for ketchup, and every waiter in the place will bring a bottle to your table. The kids also do a couple of laps around the restaurant on stick horses - very cute!

Enjoy it!
