If it's for a regular meal, I want a wine that will compliment the meal. Primarily, though, I'll be eating beef, so I'll pick a cabernet.

If it's for a special occasion, I want a meritage and I'm picking Pine Ridge's Andrus or Rubicon. They both are a little over $100 per bottle and worth every penny.

For white I really like pinot grigio for red i really like pinot noir. I really really don't like white zinfidel or merlot. But white merlot is o.k. and I like french rose. Cabernet Savignon is o.k. but I like Shiraz a little more. I really don't like Chardonnay it is too oak-y. But in a bind I would drink any of it. ;)

I like all dry wines. I voted white because at the moment I have clear braces and reds stain the bands.

Reds:
Shiraz/Syrah
Cabernet Sauvignon
Pinot Noir

Whites:
Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris
Riesling
Sauvignon Blanc
Muscat
Once in a while a Chardonnay will surprise me.

I cannot stand rose wine.

I like a nice red once in a while... but also a nice dry white!

I used to be a White Zin girl. Now I'm all about the Pinot Grigio. I still can't get into red wine for some reason. :confused3

For an everyday wine, we usually drink white, but for special occasions, we love to buy (and save) a really special French Bordeaux.

I like both red and white, as long as it is not too dry. Now my sis gave me some wine that you are supposed to heat up before you drink it. That was nasty!

cabernet for me, if i must drink wine. the hotter (peppery) the better.

Villa Mt. Eden gran reserve chardonnay...very buttery! :thumbsup2 Ok, so I'm partial to it b/c we served it at our wedding! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

the Trentino Moscato Gaierhof that they serve on the Disney cruise... :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

and the Fess Parker Pinot Noir (b/c I had it at club 33!) :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

ok, those are what I like!

DH and I love the Reds - Cabernet, Merlot, Zin, Syrah, and varietals. We joined 4 wine clubs when we were in Napa, so we have a constant supply arriving!:cool1: :cool1:

Pine Ridge is one of the wine clubs we belong to, and I love their reds. I love their Andrus Reserve. I also really enjoy their Charmstone and Onyx blends.

I'm an equal opportunity wine drinker. I even like the crap in the boxes! :cool1:

My favorite is Big House Red (used to be Bonny Doon, but they sold both the white and red lines, as well as the pink). Also like Fish Eye for quaffing during American Idol. DH and I like a Banfi Classico Reserva chianti on special nights -- it's the only kind he'll drink.

Definately a red girl. I prefer a nice cab or else a sangiovese. We live near Temecula Valley (known for their wineries) so I usually just stock up there. It's too confusing to pick at the grocery store or a liquor store.
